Here's an experiment rarely seen on UA-cam:
    1. Jump start the car
    2. After a very short period of time (seconds), turn the ignition off. The car's battery will likely still be dead, as the alternator hasn't been given sufficient time to recharge it.
    3. Attempt to jump start the car again off the same jump-start device, without attempting to recharge the device.
    4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to determine exactly how many jump starts the device can perform before it fails.

Good information. However you stated your daughter was going to jump start her car but you didn't let her. You connected positive first and then negative which is correct. You need to do the reverse when taking them off (Negative first then Positive). By the way you should remove the cables within 30 seconds after starting not start the car within 30 seconds. We have these in all our vehicles and my daughter was able to use it herself and worked great. Great Product from Costco.

Hi I wanna ask as I am quite new in jumpstarting cars, I tried using this jumpstart battery kit like in this video but although the battery is off the black cable gave off a tiny spark when I tried to connect it to the car battery negative terminal, then I found out my car dome light is on as it was night time, it is safe to retry to jumpstart the car again once I ensure all lights and I check my car is parked at P no aircon, wipers or other lights on?

Thanks for the information. I love the 98 Camry. Don't be fooled by the look. With proper maintenance like oil change regularly, it is still a good car. As to the hood and the fade paint for lazy maintenance, just mix some mineral spirit and boil linseed oil, wipe it on 2 coats for drying each 12hr to protect it from further sun damage. People said it can last for a year or two for doing it again.

Usually batteries only last about four years. Keep a fresh battery in the vehicle after that. For about $150.00 you can get a great battery. Most auto parts store install them for free. Don’t forget to check the distilled water in the battery if you have that type of battery. Take a screwdriver and take those caps off. If it’s low in distilled (yes it must be distilled water) top it off to the measuring line. Many people neglect this procedure. Oh yes excellent video😊

Hello, thank you for your informative videos. I also just bought one of this from Costco. I have a scooter that uses 4 SLA batteries like what you're showing in another video which are connected in series? (I'm not sure), and I haven't used the scooter for quite a while, so the batteries are dead and I can't charge it with the original scooter charger. Can I use this Costco jump starter to recharge or jump start these SLA batteries? Do I have to remove the batteries completely out of the scooter, and one by one to charge them or can I just leave them in the scooter and connect this Costco jump starter to them? If so, can you show me how to connect this Costco jump starter to the batteries? Thank you.

And what is the minimum about of battery required on the jumper unit to get a successful jump etc. If you happened to have more info after the making the video, let me know!
    Thanks for making the video!
PS. I was told that, depending on how dead the battery is, you might want to leave it connected for 5mins or so, oh and also make sure to turn off all the electronics in the car (a/c, lights etc.) before attempting the jump.

Likely not any other continent either. For future reference your daughter drives a 4 banger or online 4.

I got the same one a long time ago, but didn't get to use it till now, and for some reason, the electronics inside the clamp's little black box got burned as soon as I plug the clamp into the battery. Then I found out that even though they labeled their connector as EC5, it's not. Almost all EC5 clamp replacements you see online will not fit into the battery. Their "D" looking side has round corners, while regular EC5 connectors I found online all have straight corners. The replacement one on their website cost a whopping $30. Buyers beware.

Doubt Costco would sell a fake. They're pretty well known for solid products at lower prices. U can't compare lithium to lead acid so being small and light is not a risk factor. You're not "charging" the vehicle either, you're giving it a jump. Your alternator charges the battery as car runs. Also, these jumpers are made to connect at posts, not + to post and - to chassis. That is inefficient and unnec bec jumpstarters do not have the risk of sparking when attaching to posts...like regular jumper cables from another car do.
