Yes, this is really Goldfinger ( German actor Gert Fröbe ) singing here. But this time with his own voice ! Whereas in 'Goldfinger', his first movie in English language, he still would have to be dubbed by British actor Michael Collins, because he couldn't speak a word of English at the time and had to learn his lines phonetically ( still to no great effort, since he often sounded too muffeld and was too hard to understand ) after his success im 'Goldfinger' he would make quite an effort to quickly improve his English skills; and only four years later Bond-producer Albert R.Broccoli would give green light for him to play ( AND SING !) Baron Bumburst in 'Chitty...' with his own voice. Gert Fröbe was actually a man with real musical talents. He had started his professional life as a caféhouse violinist in his hometown Zwickau in Saxonia, so singing in pitch was actually no problem for him. And in this role his German accent was no hinder either, just the contrary, it suited the character very well. Contrary to his screen image and the many nasty persons he would have to play here, in real life Fröbe was a very light-hearted man with a great sense of selfdeprecating humour (a character trait Germans generally are considered to have not any...), and he really loved it doing comedy, since he enjoyed it very much to make his fellow human beings laugh and smile. Playing the villains he actually rather disliked and did most of it only to pay the bills. On the set of 'Goldfinger' he would entertain his co-stars and the whole crew during pauses by doing comedic pantomimes ( one of his best was the pantomime of a soccer goalkeeper ), in which art he was quite unique. Acting solely with mimic expressions and gestures was his greatest forte as an actor !
This might be one of the funniest movie scenes I have ever seen or heard….The sheer hilarity and absurdity of it is amazing….He’s trying to kill her every minute and she always miraculously survives and scares him to death….Plus his insane breath intake….I copy that so often. I actually did it the other day 😂

Something that has occurred to me for the last several months: The adventure and the journey to vulgarea did not actually happen. This is all based on a story that mr Potts tells his children at the beach. I wonder how the kids. Reacted to the description of the baron trying to kill his wife.

Joker and Harley Quinn if they ever had a musical number
Yes I can see that I would be here for a musical number by that duo
Absolutely!
WithADashOfPazazz Really?
Too true! 😃👍
I can so see this
wonder how long they had to try to film this without bursting out laughing
never thought of that funny how you think of certan things as an adult
Lol I’m doing this play next year, if I get baroness part I’ll be having to sing this
@@ashlehsmash9028Did you get the part of the baroness?

I love that part so much!
Ive always adored this song as a child while theyre trying to subtlely kill eachother its so lovely
The song: a couple expressing their love to each other
The scene: one maliciously attempts to kill the other
Exactly!
Contrast: the key to creativity
When the kids crash the birthday party and the baron gets locked in a cage with his wife I always think: "He will never get rid of her now."
I love how much he hates her XD
This was the only time that attempt of murder was funny.

the weird moment when you realize that this is Goldfinger singing this song
SweenyTodd98 wait, that was him?! 😱
Gert Frobe played both Goldfinger and Baron Bomburst
Another one is when you realize that the original story was written by the man who also wrote James Bond
And the same production company, and Q builds the car

+impossiblegirl well, only Bomby hates her. She is actually madly in love with him. She just hates children.
