Hey I have really been enjoying your videos lately, but I have one little comment on what you said at around 5:35 and on. Well I live in Costa Rica, I was born and raised here. And the thing is that Santa Ana, Escazu (a place literally 5 miles from the UWC Santa Ana campus) or any of these bigger cities in SJ, started growing around some strong US influences. If You go to places like: Osa (specifically up south), La fortuna, Malpais, Isla del Coco, Drakes Bay, The whales tail area (where I have grown up). You can see how even though the Turism is crazy and you could literally only speak english and be just fine, the actual Costa Rican culture is still there in its purest form. And the stores are owned by locals, and as you walk down little towns You hear typical Costa Rican music literally every other house. In the more Urban areas of Costa Rica it is an irrefutable fact that the culture is getting lost and is being replaced with malls and fast food. But not far from these areas is where you can find thousands of kilometers (ok maybe only like 2 thousand since costa rica is a very small country) of what the "Pura Vida" really is. Anyway I am only 16 so perhaps my view on this is a little naive and not well rounded with actual facts, but I think that Costa Rica in general has been doing very well keeping its culture untouched by outer influences. Also thank You for all of your videos about UWC, I am going to apply this year and have been trying my best to prepare myself as best as posible, you have been of great help. Anyway, good night!
sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a method to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost my login password. I love any tricks you can give me
@Salvador Harrison thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I know you have already graduated and I'm happy for you, congrats! But I'm curious if uwc has a "dress code" and what happens if you don't respect the curfew? Take care!
oh don't worry haha there was no dress code at uwccr! people walked around in bikinis sometimes. and in terms of the curfew, you could get a report if you don't have a very valid reason. they might take away some privileges. 3 reports and you're expelled, but rarely anyone ever gets expelled!!
oh and often times depending on the guard you'll just be let in cause they'd rather you be safe than anything! (also you have a 15 minute window past the hour where you're still okay)
yes absolutely! it's a bilingual school, but the most commonly spoken language is english. you can easily get through the two years never learning spanish if you wanted to, but it is a great opportunity to practice :)
how do you apply through your national committee? for eg if i want to go to a uwc campus and i have to apply through my national committee how do i do it i literally searched everywhere if anyone knows pls do tell me
it depends on the uwc! every one of them is different, so im not sure. at uwccr it was unlimited. if you wanted to start your own cas you could, as long as it got approved. we had a few different kinds of dance when i was attending - afro beats, modern, ballet
Okay so you and many other students currently at UWC inspire me so much but like as we are in the same position, could you answer these questions if you do another QnA? 1.What did you do after getting rejected by UWC for a whole year? 2.What country do u originally belong to? 3. I don't understand how could you be a part of IBDP 2 without doing a first year there, i mean is that even possible? I might continue doing something here in my country and then apply for UWC again next year but i don't remember if they asked that we wanted to do IBDP 1 OR IBDP 2? Could you please elaborate? 4. I would really appreciate if you subscribe to my channel as well and support me :P BUT ANYWAY LOVE U! More to go Ahead!! :) xoxo
Hey you are Indian right? me too I have also doubts like what subject combos to take, when will the applications start for next year (currently I am in 10th grade 2020-2021)? will everyone who apply for scholarships get scholarship? Should we pay for the travel? How many Indians might get accepted, etc. If you are applying, please let me know
@@KA-iv1ol It's late to reply, I guess. You could find the answer by yourself during those 2 months... But still, here you go: 1) It depends on your country. But usually they open the applications on September. 2) Again, it depends on your country and on sponsors who are ready to pay for your studies abroad. 3) They don't sponsor flights to the college but if your family has problems with money you can contact your NC and explain them the situation so that they take care of it. 4) It depends. In different countries there is a different quantity of students who can get their place at UWC Hope you found it useful :)
@@KA-iv1ol have you applied yet?? I've a question after submitting the online application when will we get an email regarding interview after deadline (1 Nov. As of India's NC) or before deadline

do you have weekends off? i am a huge fan of yours!!!!! this is just so helpful as i am going to come to UWC soon.😊😍😊😍😊
thank you 🥰 and yess of course! but it all sort of gets muddled together, so people still work on their academics and have meetings on the weekends
