    Impressive Compressor!
    Are the discharge valves operated by solenoids or back pressure, like the plate in a reversing valve?

    What about the extreme heat while being unloaded on the compressor sometimes the compressor may be unloaded for too long of a time and cause extreme heat and damage the compressor

      +hardcooling demand cooling, head reaches high temp, opens solenoid and shoots liquid refrigerant into head, usually found on R-22 systems.

      but now days we use R-404a or R-507 and we don't use the demand cooling anymore
      so your telling me to use the demand cooling again?

    • @bblazeff1
      @bblazeff1 8 років тому +1

      +hardcooling yeah, believe it or not, R-22 systems still exist. You can even still get factory charged units with R-22

      +bblazeff1 i'm aware that we can still get R- 22 systems but with the now freon we no longer needed the demand cooling because of the lower head temperature now if we use unloaders you mean we must use the demand cooling again

      I work on these all the time and in some cases your right unloading it creates immense heat and it has smoked several top ends in a few of these compressors.

    But this consumption reduction on electricity does not increase the life span of compressor which depends on rotation per minute. Digital thermostatic control is perfect for this game. It can shot down both the compressors and fans both indoors and outdoor which totally shots down consumption and elongate the life of the equipment as well as regulate temperature and save the environment some noise and vibrations. The electromagnetic/thermostat controls of temperature and electric consumption is just okay. All other internal mechanical / ectro-mechanical internal manipulations of compressor's pistons are not necessary except in the case of unloading the compressors against empty rooms that have no cooling loads. Aside this the compressor requires no internal disturbance for temperature control or reduction on consumption via mechanical manipulations. Enough of all these experiments with peoples businesses and time. Thanks.

      You're dead wrong

      Completely wrong. Most wear is caused at start-up when there is a delay on oil flow. You say cycle things off....that isn't new thinking, that is literally how everything works. It doesn't matter if the control is digital.

    Not a fan of these. I changed 31 of these 25 ton Discuss compressors and they are two sensitive to any liquid or oil and will fail far sooner than a scroll.
