In super Sentai he was known as Griffozar, and for long time he didnt even have a voice and could only communicate in grunts. He didnt have a rivalry with any rangers. He was married to Lamy or Scropina as she is known in MPPR. In super sentai he was bit of a silent badass.
For me, Goldar was and always will be the most iconic general, because he was literally the only one who was a match for the entire team. That's something seriously lacking now with the product, because most generals and underlings are pushovers. The only exception to this is Ecliptor from In Space.
Since Goldar's from Titan, I wonder if he ever encountered Thanos at one point. Also him having a brother, is that in the comics? If so that's pretty cool and speaking of, there is a shot of him later on that shows him without his armor, something I thought was pretty cool to see.

Never was into Powerrangers but as it had a silly side to here is my headcanon ending. Goldar got a phonecall that he won the lottery so mid fight he said "So long suckers! I am going to Hawaii!!"
