Had you on my mind, along with many others... as the storm was making it's way toward y'all! I am so glad to see this video and encouraged by your amazing outlook! Definitely keeping everyone affected by Helene and Milton in my prayers, because as the reality kicks in, there is still so much pain and recovery to deal with! Nothing like putting a smile on one's face with the arrival of new orchids! Happy growing and get well soon 🫶🏼
I thank God that you, Luis, all your plants and your entire ranch made it through the hurricane safely. I do hope you feel better soon Nelson, sending hugs, and thank you for this video
I love your surprises! Jeremy wins at packing plants! Your orchids look so beautiful with that pop of color 🥰💕. I’ll be at the Delray Beach Orchid Show this weekend. Have fun at The Rare Plant Festival 🥳. Hugs for you and Teri 😘💚.
I just made it to the hurricane wrap-up in your video. I’m so glad that you’re just a mess and not ruined. And!!! Nelson!!! Looook at all of those amazing orchids you have been collecting since your channel started. Thank you for sharing with all of us!
Hi Nelson😃🙌The Hurricane was dreadful‼️Luckily your orchid house is safe🙏💖Your new cactus cleistocactus colademononis is absolutely beautiful😱💞I can't believe it. I know they love a terracotta pot and enjoy the tropical jungle where the grow on cliffs with bromeliads☺️Enjoy growing🥰
Thanks Newman. We dodged 2 horrible hurricanes. We are still in the process of fixing the shade over the extension. My monkey tail is awesome! I’m so happy I own one. And that size is just really spectacular. Thanks for the tip. 👍🏼
I'm glad to see your latest video. During the storms, my thoughts were with the orchid nurseries, and especially you and your collection, as well as the cats. I am very glad to see you made it through with minimal damage. I know exactly how you feel when an orchid is broken, or a pot cracked, since we do talk to them and treat them like our kids. Each injured one wounds our soul. (Orchid people will understand). Best to you always and looking forward to more videos. Stay well....
The hurricanes have done quite a lot of destruction in so many way. I’m happy that you’re not badly affected by either of the two. Always looking forward to your videos. Get well soon Nelson.
Thank you. I do feel for those who lost everything. So much so that I feel guilty stating that I fared well and I feel blessed. Although I do feel that way, I don’t dismiss that others are going through a dark time of loss. It is in that mindset that I sit in gratitude everyday for all what I receive, and pray for those less fortunate. 🙏🏼💚🤗
My husband and I join with you and our orchidist brothers and sisters in sending up prayers for those affected by the hurricanes. I've heard that a number of nurseries here in Central Florida experienced damage. Smiley, Pam, Frank, Jim, and others whose livelihood has been jeopardized by Milton... I hope we can all provide them with extra support and patronize their businesses this winter.
Thank you! Fortunately the hurricane did minimal damage considering the size and strength it had before touching land. I believe this was actually best case scenario.
Thank you my love. Indeed it is a spotted charm. I did some research after I video the episode and that’s exactly what it is. Isn’t that pot awesome! Gotta stay positive in hard times. 🤗🫶🏼🙏🏼
Ohhh...Nelson I bought PPP... Purple Prickly Pear paddles from a lady in Tucson, AZ. They are not like the commercial nursery plants. They are deeper purple, slower growing and not as huge. They are stunning! 💜
Hi Nelson, So happy you made it through I hope Milton didnt cause too much additional damage. We are in Pasco couny near Pinellas and had so much damage in our area especially flooding but our house had only minor damage .Most importantly we are all safe. Putting my orchids back in order some damage and potting needed looks like minimul loss . I have made plans to attend my very first orchid show which will be Nov 1 at Krull Smith. I see they had damage and are repairing and said still having show. I am so excited and looking forward to some needed enjoyment. I follow and watch all your videos you inspire me and bring joy to me through your love of orchids and life. I hope I will be lucky enough to meet you at the show. Either way thanks so much for all your time and effort you put into these videos:))
Im happy to hear that your damage was minimal specially in that area. It hit pretty hard in Pinellas County. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the Krull Smith show this year. We are in the middle of the pathway construction and other projects at hand that are taking priority. Also the shade in the greenhouse was destroyed by Milton. So this hurricane season has put a damper on my travels. Enjoy your Grammatophyllum 🤗
@@naturenel Well hopefully another show as sure will be hooked on shows after my first...and husband retires next year and can venture furthur to your neck of the woods:))
Hello Nelson. I was worried about you with those hurricanes, and so glad you got thru almost unscathed. Imagine Helene passed thru the eastern Caribbean islands as a tropical wave! On the lighter side, your condition left you with a nasally, gravelly, sexy voice! Nice! Take care, stay safe. Thanks for sharing your update.
Lol! Sexy voice? Glad you see it that way. I’m Back to normal now. This year was a doozy with these crazy hurricanes. I’m just fleas the season is coming to an end in a month. 🙏🏼
My aunt loves cacti. When I saw Nelson and Teresita with the Monkey Tail at the festival, I knew it would be perfect for her 80th birthday, which she just celebrated a few days ago. She had had one years ago, but it died at some point and she had always wanted another. 🎉
I was happy to find your video today, and relieved to see that you're alright. The images from the hurricanes are devastating. The monkey tails are gnarly and cool, by the way!! Thanks again for sharing your garden with us. 🐒😍
Thank God Nelson that you got minimal damage at your place! I've been following the Groups helping in NC, TN and GA and it's totally devastating! Winter is coming and they have no homes that are livable. Samaritan's Purse is doing great work.
Oh my gosh Nel, I went online to VeryPlants and read up on their products. They even have a medium for orchids!!! Jeremy at S&W Orchids has his surprises going on. Once again you get the🌟for vetted information on caring for our plants. As always your videos entertain and educate your viewers. This weather is adding to mitigating health. Rain and humidity going in/out of air conditioning can attribute to cold and generally feeling funky. Feel better and hope to see you soon. Respectfully,
Awesome to hear you did a thorough search on their medium. They are really really good. I would almost stamp it is the best medium out there for its purpose. If you order don’t forget to use “naturenel” at the checkout for extra discount. 👍🏼
Hi Nelson I keep looking for a video I see if ur OK along with garden. I happy you did not get any serious damages and that ur getting better. Take care now and see you in the next video.
Glad to hear everyone is as safe as can be after all the crazyness! I was constantly looking for updates, on who I know is located in Florida. Love the hildewintera colademononis - or hildewintera cola demon, as I call them - or monkey tail, lol. I had them twice but they always died. Finally got to see their beautiful flowers in a garden center, a few months ago. Love the shirt! I bought a little philodendron White Princess last week, for very little money, at Aldi of all places. I really hope I can keep it alive - it's gorgeous. I might get its "sibling" as well, if the store still has it tomorrow. The spotted cattleya from Vicky, in that pink pot from Orchids365, is absolutely to die for! Love the tetrespis Wilson! Happy to report that my tetrespis (no idea which one, it has no other name on the tag) is still with me (after last winter's big loss) and slowly growing, now that I repotted it in lava rock. Oh, such cute kittys!
Hola Nel.
Sorry you have been sick😩 but glad you didn’t fare too bad with Helene and Milton. Helene was not bad for us but Milton was something else since it landed just a few miles from me😡. Thankfully (on one hand), I do not have as many orchids as you do and I moved all of them inside my house and in the garage. I was wondering how did your quicktent held? So many lost so much🙏
Hey there! Yes my collection is too big to bring all inside. But everything did really well. Glad to hear you did well too. My Quicktent held super well. I was so amazed at that. Not a scratch.
