The biggest difference is Erwin could see people's true motives and would act accordingly. The only reason Eren got so far was because his best friends ran the army and refused to acknowledge how crazy he had become
True. Erwin is also very good at politics and negotiation, which are crucial when dealing with Marley. Along with the leadership, the survey corps wouldn't split. He is also considered 'crazy' so he might understand Eren more than others did
you cooked. he was able to figure out so much with limited information in the earlier seasons. no shot eren would get that far if he was alive, probably one of the reasons eren chose armin.
I dont blame Eren, his useless friends spend 4 years doing nothing, i guess Armin was too busy nutting on annie´s cristal. Erwin would never waste time like this , sadly Eren have a weak spot for his friends even when they are unreliable.
Armin was responsible for seeing details and discovering secrets that made the main characters win along the series, but I doubt Erwin would let the wine trap happen- I think he would be so paranoid about every move of everyone from Marley.
He would try and get as many titans as he could, he would've still sent Eren to Marley in case they declare war and still the war hammer titan. He would've kepted Eren in check he had a way to push Eren in the right direction, he would've tried to tech up parody Island tried to export the gas, he would've figured a way to make titans obsolete. He would've tried to support a civil war in Marley with zeke. He was paranoid enough he would always prepare for invasion but the thing is. Historia and zeke are the only 2 royals, and zeke was always going to try and control the founder. Eren only got the power by his love for mikicusa. He would have to figure away around the problem and I can't see how.
@@suryadragon Why tf should Erwin be a psychopath to kill people and feel no remorse? Erwin would most likely feel the same shit Armin felt, like any other rational human would.
To be honest, I always thought about Erwin getting the armoured titan while Armin got the colossal titan. They could've maybe split the spinal fluid to both of them. So I always imagine if Zeke and the cart titan never recovered Reiner that they would've captured them both.
They could force feed the shifters to the titans. Rod Reiss was an abnormal and they did make a choice of whether or not to feed Eren to Rod. It’s probably possible. And easier with a shifter on your side.
*Eren wrecking the entire world* Armin: "ah crap, what am I gonna do, Erwin please guide me!" Erwin in heaven: "I missed the part where that's my problem."
The first thing Ervin will do as a Colossal Titan is to transform and watch the military exercises from the best possible angle. This alone will increase his efficiency as a strategist by 300%. Also, now they would be able to attack in winter, since they will have a portable heat generator walking/riding with them an all times xD
Wow that would actually be a very cool scene. Seeing the two armies approaching each other and then Erwin transforming and blocking out the sun. He stands their looming over the scene watching and relaying orders as both armies fight in his shadow.
@@saltypotatoes827 When you take someones titan you dont get all their memories dumped onto you instantly. Some of them take years before they show up. manga spoilers below! This is why as the series progresses Eren becomes more and more different and warped mentally. He has the memories of hundreds of previous founding titan users slowly trickling into his mind. PLUS since he also has the attack titan, whos memories can travel both backwards and forward through time between users, he essentially has all these different peoples memories traveling across time all converging into his own mind. All those peoples dreams, memories, goals, love, hate, emotions, everything all slowly mixing into his own mind to the point where he almost completely losses himself to them. This is why he not only starts the rumbling, but also in a last effort of will that he can truely call his own leaves an opening for his allies to kill him if THEY want to. Because he knows that he can no longer trust his own mind, but can always count on his friends to do what they think is right. put simply, Eren no longer knew right from wrong, but he knew that the friends he trusts did, so he bets everything on them. Which of course all stems from what Levi told him in the woods while the Female Titan was chasing them.
The thing is that Armin's unique instances of tactical brilliance all but dry up after the injection. Aside from the recovery plan of Eren in Marley, there was nothing that made me say "oh yeah, it's hard to say which was the right choice." Armin is a tactician, Erwin is a strategist, and strategy is what Paradis needed most. Ah well.
@@crabcrab3048 ngl kinda agree, although hes good from a narrative standpoint due to his connection with Eren, he didn't really use his head all that much in s4. legit most other people could have probably taken up his spot as the colossal titan and paradis wouldn't have done worse by much
Erwins leadership and speeches would've also been useless after getting 99% of the scouts turned into paste by his stupid ass plans that usually don't work.
I guess Bert’s memories made Armin kinda dumber 😂😅. Probably because of his sympathetic side. Erwin on the other hand might not suffer from that. Probably due to him not minding having some sacrifices happening in the middle of his plans.
I love how Erwin has so many layers, in the sense he isn't the kind, truthful, caring leader, but super ambitious, never revealing his true intentions.
Erwin lost motivation because of all the people who died because of him, he wanted to die, so he would hardly be able to command and fight as effectively
I think that emotionally speaking Armin the best chose would be to put him out of his misery but strategically speaking Erwin is way better at strategising and has way more knowledge and experience.
@@blorblin No he already had guilt, he led hundred of scouts to death to ensure victory. But he attoned for it in the end by sacrificing himself and his dream. If he got another chance he could lead the scouts and probably find a better solution with Eren about Marley...
@@DNephilim If he didn't go insane from the fact that he survived the charge when everyone except himself and Floch didn't. Erwin wanted to die. He was sick of living in such a terrible world, so much so that in the manga, he's seen smiling just a bit as a rock rips through him.
While I believe Armin definitely has the potential to become a good strategist at the time of Erwins death he didn't have the confidence, experience and knowledge needed especially in such a cramped time frame with Marley lurking. Erwin was prepared and experienced already and thus in my opinion would have been better
Yeah and s4 pretty much confirms it. Armin didn't really do much and the things he did could honestly have been done by others. Prior to s3 Eren and Armin were basically equals. Each had their thing they specialized in, but that became less in s4 as Eren showed more intelligence and whatnot. Their ties are also too close. Erwin doesn't have that connection with Eren and he'd be more mature about things
Erwin is literally one of my favorite characters ever. His mind and determination is what makes him pop out from the rest. He showed the idea of being selfish to be selfless. I gained a new perspective on world matters and fell in love with how Aot depicts real life issues in a fictional and interesting way were people can relate. Anyways amazing vid, hope to win... Fingers crossed
I like this “what if?” Series your doing, one I have thought about though : What if Ymir (Jaw Titan before Porco) decided to side with Eldia instead of going back to Marley? I’d love to see your thoughts on it
ngl if that happened Paradis would have a much better handle on dealing with titans due to her info (even if it is 60 years too late) and her titan powers but all the tension of the narrative would just be gone.
One of the greatest failings of Armin was treating Eren like a friend until it was too late. Erwin would not. He would see Eren as the liability that he was and plan, or even act, in accordanc; i.e. say, arrange for the founding Titan to be in someone who doesn't suffer from murderous impulses or an enormous ego, someone reliable and stable, like Hange.
Hange is too much of an asset in the long term. He wouldn't dream of making her a titan if he knew it would cut off her lifespan. Her technological improvements to the military were way too important, especially with the marleyan technology she could spend hours figuring out how to reverse-engineer. She would he brilliant as a titan, but burn out way too fast. As for how he'd go about selecting the next attack founding titan, I can't say. I can only think of who he wouldn't want to lose.
@@Mister100Percent Seeing all the titan powers under the control of Erwins strategic mind, as he juggernauts his way against literally everybody to destroy the world except for Paradis would be metal as fuck.
@@DandyZero Nah Erwin would big brain it so that he doesn’t even need to kill the entire world. My man would whip out the charter of humanity to prove that Eldians just want peace and devastate anyone who attacks out of self defense.
I cried so much during the scene in which they had to choose between Armin or Erwin, Erwin was my favorite character and seeing Levi cry thinking of losing the only person that he was loyal to and treated him right after his hard life broke me, we're used to seeing a badass Levi but we had never seen a sensitive one. I understood and rooted for him each time he let his anger out on Zeke for what happened to Erwin.
It’s confirmed that she is tied with zeke as the smartest characters in the aot universe, tho I agree this doesn’t necessarily mean she’s the best leader
Honestly... Why couldn't this be what really happened? Erwin was a great character, with an amazing ability to find solutions to absolutely absurd problems
On one side it's because Armin was one of the main trio so he had that plot armor. On the other side it would be pretty epic and emotionally crushing to see Armin die.
I also believe that Erwin was a better choice. His experience and charisma is something Armin does not have. If not for Erwin they would not have the support they needed to retake wall Maria. He planned the damn coup because Erwin realized that they cannot move forward with their fight against the titans if they don't change their own system. He's a great planner and strategist.
Erwin's one of my favorite characters in AoT, he has some of the most memorable lines and moments in the show. I'd love if Isayama, now that he's finished with the story; decided to give us official alternate history novels for AoT. (If Erwin survived, If Hannes fought Dina's Titan the first time, If Reiner got eaten instead of Marcel, etc.)
Marcel have a lot of room for characterization. Since he was probably the leader, he was probably very clever. What if he pulled a zeke-like 180, and side with paradis? Maybe kidnap his own family to further push a plan to destroy marley? All that while still disguising as a loyal warrior? Just me, of course.
@@luciuspowerhouse3125 No. Your just wrong. He sucked in season 4 but in every other season he has some of the best development and overall character in the series.
I have thought about this, I think Erwin would have gotten depressed after figuring out the truth about the world and become inefficient. The story suggests as much, that is the dream he was drunk on. He wasn't interested in freeing Eldians or saving humanity or ensuring his nation could survive the world. He wanted to learn the truth, once he learned it his life would lose purpose and it would take a couple years for him to find another purpose; years he wouldn't have in the story.
Fully agree with this. Erwin's arc in the main story demonstrates that his entire drive was on the idea of finding out the truth, and when he'd realise there is little that Paradis could do about the outside world, he would perhaps stop being as effective as a leader as when he was once determined to find the truth behind his father's death. Instead, he died a man that sacrificed himself for humanity rather than a self-motivated leader (that he essentially was before the Beast Titan fight). One can argue Levi almost foresaw this reality when he chose to revive Armin instead- Levi was giving Erwin a chance to die for a good cause, and this is a form of "mercy", rather than living a purposeless life after discovering the contents of the basement.
When he transforms, there is no lightning, its just a giant sword that falls from the sky that reveals his titan and anybody within 25 kilometers just hears "SHINZOU WO SASAGEYO"
I know alot of ppl are saying that Erwin is their favorite character, but same. He's just so cool and badass, especially when he says SHINZOU SASAGEYO. It would've been rlly cool as well if he was the one who became the colossal.
Erwin would definitely be the best choice. Not only would he be looking to make alliances with other countries. I think he use the Eldians in the interment zone. Potentially creating civil unrest with the Marley government and the Marley Eldians when Marley is faced with a war on multiple fronts. I also think that Erwin would have Eren undo Annie’s hardening and have someone else inherit the Female Titan giving Paradise another shifter in their arsenal.
This is actually... pretty good, man. I love the theory. People usually make tiny changes eventually concluding that it is irrelevant, who got injected.
I actually wrote a what if of this story myself. Here it is: The whole group would be devastated about Armin, with Eren the most upset. The group would still go to find the basement, but Erwin was with the group. The following events continue the same, with everyone finding out that there is a world outside the walls, but Erwin is happy to know his father was right all along, and sheds a tear. Eren continues to see memories of his past, with Erwin taking the place of Armin and further understanding Grisha's motives and the rules of the Titans. The ceremony also continues the same, with a depressed Eren seeing his future memories. However, after losing Armin, Eren is more determined to ensure that none of his friends die. The following events continue the same. 1 Year later, the Marleyan survey fleet arrives, and events continue the same. This time, however, Erwin takes the place of Hange, and is more stern towards Yelena when they are talking in the tent. Of course, Erwin is highly suspicious of the Volunteers, but understands that if the island is to survive against the rest of the world, they need to carry out Zeke's plan. Zeke is also in favor of Zeke's plan to use the Founding Titan to release the rumbling. During this time, everyone else was pleading with Erwin to try to make peace before using the Rumbling. After time, Erwin understood that it would be best to try to make peace with the enemy before using the Rumbling, but knew that if peace became impossible, they would use the rumbling. Also during this time, Eren would continue to tell Floch about his true plan, knowing that Erwin would never allow the entire world to be destroyed. Events would continue the same, with the group going to Marley in hopes of brokering peace. After the 4 year timeskip, events continue the same. Eren attacks Marley, Erwin uses the Colossal to nuke the harbor, and events continue the same. Essentially, Erwin would replace Hange's role in the rest of the series, with Hange just sticking by Erwin. Events continue to follow the same route, up to the point of the final confrontation between Eren. Erwin is captured by the Pig Titan, and confronts Zeke in the Titan Realm. However, instead of telling Zeke the meaning of life like Armin did, Erwin instead tells Zeke of the sacrifices and gambles he's made over the years. He talks about the fellow comrades he's lost, and how their sacrifices got them this far. He thinks to his father's dream, and how he finally got to prove him right and see the basement. Finally, he tells Zeke that those people died because they believed in the cause, and that they entrusted the rest of the work to their comrades. This causes Zeke to think back to Tom, who died entrusting their euthanization plan to Zeke. He stands up, with Tom and Grisha appearing to him. He thanks Tom for trusting in him, and that while he won't be able to carry out their euthanization plan, he can still save the world, and asks for his and Grisha's help. Erwin looks to Bertold, and tells him that he's sorry for taking his life, but asks for his help in defeating Eren. Also, Marcel, Porco, and Ymir were also listening to Erwin's words, and all decided to help. Events then continue the same, with Erwin being freed, the others helping the Alliance to stop the past Titans, and Erwin using the Colossal to blow up Eren. The final battle stays the same, with Erwin fighting a Colossal Eren, Mikasa decapitating Eren, resulting in him dying. Like the rest of his friends, Erwin also has a moment with Eren. Erwin understands what Eren has to do, and apologizes for putting Eren in that position, along with being chosen instead of his friend. Erwin then ends by saying that it looks like Eren finally made a gamble of his own, and he hopes it will pay off. Later, after 3 years, the Alliance are heading back to Paradis to make peace with the world. The group asks Erwin if he thinks they can make peace, with Erwin saying it will just have to be another gamble. For those interested, I created a blog for my what if stories like the one above. This is genuinely amazing. I love how you included Erwin into the story but kept true to the author’s story. You deserve every like you get. Continue writing too you’re good at it
I'm not surprised at all when Levi chose Armin. From a storytelling perspective, Armin is the better choice because that choice could generate so many potential for character development.
I think one other reason Levi didnt pick Erwin. Was because he could see his old friend trio, (that we saw in the ova) in Armin, Eren and Mikasa's friend trio.
bro would have carried the whole squad and wiped the whole marleyan squad with his strategies. armin m's colossal titan was just saddening and disappointing
@@JIREN972 collosal titan isn’t really for Erwin, he fits the cart titan. Cart titan requires strategies and fast thinking and etc (said in the anime) pieck was chosen because she was the smartest student in Marley, and Annie were top at combatant.
There's also a very large possibility that Erwin's character would completely change if he had gotten the injection. Because he had planned to die during the charge, the guilt he would've faced afterwards would have been incredibly strong. He most likely would've dropped commandership completely.
Erwin had already killed hundreds of scouts before the charge. I doubt he'd suddenly start to regret it At best he'd take a break, but he'll see that his successors aren't as capable as him And he'll take on the demon-mantle again to make sure that their comrades sacrificed their lives for a good reason
Erwin is a chad commander. He is responsible so there is no way he would suddenly become a coward and leave everything behind after having the injection. The things you said sounds like what Armin is doing right now.
I don’t think Erwin would’ve been good after they learned the secrets to the outside world. Like Erwin said himself, the only thing that made him want to keep living was to find the secrets that were being hidden. After that he might lose his edge.
I'm wondering considering that Historia's dad became a titan even with just a lick from the broken syringe. What if they were able to divide the dose into two parts and with the use of a spinal tap, they extract 2 doses of Bertholt's spinal fluid and give it to Armin and Erwin. I wonder if that'll make 2 Colossal titans...
The thing I love about aot is that there is enough character development and lore that people can literally make theories about alternate timelines. That's the sign of great storytelling.
Actually had the same idea of having two open spots on Erwin's colossal titan form, so that when it release smoke from the forehead it will form something looking a devil's horn.
I have another what if idea about this. What if Erwin AND Armin survived? The story goes like this: The titan spinal fluid was injected into Armin, but they also had some more in the box so they could have given it to both. Yes, only 1 would have gone back to human, but the other didn't die. So the journey of Eldia was to catch another titanshifter for that person. Whether it was Armin they wanted to give Berthold or Erwin is up to your own thoughts. But it'd be cool to see the end of it being that Armin/Erwin come back after months or years or whatever amount of time as a titan. And so both could stay alive
@@ny2354 so what if they had 3 injections and eren listened to the survey corps to being the war hammer to be eaten but armin had ate reiner and Erwin had ate the colossal who would get the warhammer
Erwin is all about striking first. So he would've been totally down with attacking Marlay also he would see it's their best option. He would first try to find some allies of course. Frankly Erwin would probably go to Marlay on his own if he had to.
Erwin is my favorite character from AOT! The possibilities are almost endless if Levi gave him the injection. Erwin always seemed determined and sure of his decisions in front of most people. I think that’s why Hange and Armin had a hard time with Eldians in general getting behind them (plus neither could really handle the pressure of following Erwin’s footsteps). I think with his resolve and amazing tactical thinking it could’ve changed a few things. However it’s difficult when the whole world hates your race.
I always thought erwin would join eren in attacking marley as he could see marley partially being responsible for his dads death. Erwin could argue to save paradis the world must burn.
I honestly think it would’ve been tough if Erwin was revived. Eren would’ve been pissed and probably left the survey corp anyway, and Mikasa would follow him wherever he went. Erwin might try to talk to him like Hange did and may manage to have a better conversation? maybe then, they come up with a better plan anyway?
I like Erwin but most of his strategies involve a ton of casualties or a huge gamble. Whereas Armin will always try to reduce casualties no matter his own life being in danger.
Yeah, but Armin not taking risks or not even willing to make gambles at all is what leads to his indecisiveness, and that can be just as catastrophic as Erwin's plans, except at least Erwin would get closer to his goal in the end
@@thalmoragent9344 Except Armin always goes through with his plans no matter how indecisive was. And his plans never failed, no matter which one he chose
Honestly, Attack On Titan is such a unique story, I myself have wondered about several possibilities about how the story could have turned out differently (Though it could be argued that it was always fated to happen this way). Still, I can't help but ponder... What if?

I think there's one key issue this video isn't really taking into account: if Eren doesn't sync up with Zeke to go through Grisha's memories, the he never convinces Grisha to take the founding Titan and likely Eren never becomes the attack titan. So in any timeline where Eren is the attack & founding Titan, he must team up with a royal blooded person to visit Grisha's memory and give him the extra push he needs to attack Frieda

Armin's ability to think quickly and make plans was pretty hindered by Bert's being slow to take action, so it might affect Erwin's strategy making too
You forgot to mention how Erwin was pretty much done being a leader by the time of his death. You said that his truest motivation was proving his dad right and saving humanity was next. I personally think that Erwin was so beat down and so depressed that he wouldn’t be capable of making that many well thought out decisions. Also the island not being perfectly protected wasnt Eren’s only motivation for the rumbling. That won’t change the fact that Eren is a troubled individual. I think Armin meant too much to Eren, and Erwin was too distraught to be a leader anymore. You really think Eren would be okay knowing Armin never got to see the ocean? Thanks for reading this comment
@:D In fact he'd probably be more motivated knowing that everything he thought to be real and true, was. He'll still kinda be like Levi a bit after leading so many to their deaths
If he gave up it would mean the sacrifices of all his comrades would be for nothing. Erwin never would’ve given up if he still had a chance to live. Depressed or not, he was the demon commander of the scouts. The only thing that keeps him down is death itself. No amount of despair, guilt, or wounds would be enough to stop him.
She would have been like her descendants. She would have let Paradis be destroyed because she would have had the king's ideology since she is of royal blood
Honestly, I think that Erwin, Eren, Mikasa, Floch, and a few other Scouts would have a disagreement with the Paradis higher-ups. I believe that Erwin would want to go undercover and observe the Marleyans to spot useful weaknesses, but the higher ups wouldn’t want to risk losing a potential ally. Erwin would argue that the Marleyans wouldn’t want to ally with the people they just tried to kill. Erwin would be caught starting a secret mission to invade Marley quietly and he would get arrested.

Fr. At least Erwin actually got somewhere. I know it was made clear that Armin couldn’t replace Erwin entirely, but Armin’s sort of mentality didn’t make him a good leader to move everyone forward that much during the war. It fell all on Hange, who did an amazing job despite everything but they were no Erwin.
Personally, i think that Erwin would be disappointed having finally learnt the truth about the world and how it is quite literally them vs the world and just like how Kenny said “everyone has to be drunk on something to keep living” Erwin would slowly lose his motivation to guide the survey corps against the world that he wanted to discover. Eren also would start to lose his motivations as well as he kept moving to save Armin and Mikasa. Most likely Eren would run away with Mikasa and live the rest of his life with her as we saw in the manga since he has finally come to the terms that he can’t keep her completely safe. Without Eren, paradis would lose their main weapon keeping them safe and now that their commander is acting differently then most likely another group would be formed behind the scenes to find Eren and feed him to someone else so that they can use his titans. So long story short there would be a worse ending if Erwin gained the colossal titan instead of Armin
Why would Erwin be disappointed by learning the world was full of enemies. He already knew that the world was sending titans to attack them, and that titans themselves were people. Even before they reached the basement, they knew that their real enemies were human, and Erwin said after they found the basement he would eliminate threats. Seems to me like he was perfectly fine with going to war against the world
@@jackwalters5506 but i think the canon ending was better cus they deafeted eren and it showed that eldians wearnt bad thats what eren wanted he wanted his friends to stop him so the world would see that not all eldians are bad
This is the biggest question I've had in the whole of AOT. I loved Erwin so much and I definitely think that him and armin were a hard choice to choose. Both were extremely smart, willing to sacrifice themselves, and had dreams Beyond what most people inside the walls have. It's sad, Armin would've never seen the ocean or Erwin would have never known the truth and that his question about humans outside the walls was actually true. This scene would have had no good ending. Someone had to be sacrificed and this was definitely a tough decision
As much as I liked Armin as a character he should have died on that rooftop. They saved him bc of his intelligence but he didn't really make any great contribution after that point other than nuking the Marlian fleet, something that Erwin could have easily done. He also struggled to make good decisions under pressure, was too trusting and easy to manipulate. He didn't have it in him to make the hard calls like leading himself and others into the jaws of death for a chance at victory. He was smart but he was weak. Eren exposed that when he beat the absolute shit out of Armin seemingly without breaking a sweat something that I doubt Eren could have done to Capt Erwin.
Right? After Eren argued so much for Armin’s usefulness, that just fell off the face of the earth after he was brought back. I know he got that whole speech that he couldn’t hope to ‘replace’ Erwin, but it almost seems like he was TRYING to prove them right 😬
“Make the choice that you’ll least regret… no one knows how things will turn out” -Levi It’s easy to say all this after seeing what armin later does or doesn’t do, but we just have no way of knowing if erwin would’ve been a better choice given how everybody else would react to armin dying (eren, mikasa, friends, etc) I doubt it would be the same attack on marley with just armin switched with erwin the whole season 4 would be so different and we just don’t know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
0:35 to be fair, Armin was also a clever plan guy It’s just that after season 3 ended he suddenly got retconned to be a passive dumbass. So it’s plausible that Erwin would have been retconned to be a passive dumbass too.
I still think that Isayama had to kill him cause after the events of return to Shiganshina arc the premise of the series changed a lot, I mean the plot changed drastically and Erwin was just to smart that his presence would have made things way more interesting but also way to complicated
Erwin was honestly my favorite character on the show but I think he would've been WAYYY less forgiving than Armin. Armin atleast wanted to try and talk it out with Marley at first. Erwin would've probably nuked them without question since he was in the shit longer than Armin ever was, he probably would've harbored more hatred for the people on the other side of the sea. I also think Erwin would've maybe gone a little crazy on the power that the Collosal titan wields since he'd literally be a god of destruction, Armin seems way more level headed and sympathetic. Erwin was a way smarter strategist and commander but i think Armin would rather spare lives than sacrifice them in name of a mission. like Eren, Erwin would be prepared to kill everyone to save the people on paradis.
You know Erwin wasn't ACTUALLY a devil, right? Levi was right about him, and Floch was wrong😅 His friends and successors (Hange and Levi and later Armin) carried out exactly what his will would have been... with half the strategic genius he had. At least, that's how I see it. Predicting what a character like Erwin would have done is admittedly really hard.

I agree. I think they would be forced to pass on the Colossal in this case.
Yeah sadly Erwin had reached his breaking point.
a cowardice achieved their dream people have another life does not end there but begins from there
Fully agree with this.

I actually wrote a what if of this story myself. Here it is:
The whole group would be devastated about Armin, with Eren the most upset.

Erwin might try to talk to him like Hange did and may manage to have a better conversation? maybe then, they come up with a better plan anyway?
I like Erwin but most of his strategies involve a ton of casualties or a huge gamble. Whereas Armin will always try to reduce casualties no matter his own life being in danger.
soon enough one person will argue about this
I mean, death is inevitable, no matter how much u try, erwin knew that so he had to do what he had to do

@@hashyyrz673 nah Erwin would probably be on team ereh the dude sacrificed a 1000 people including himself so they could just see what’s in a basement now we’re talking the ultimate freedom of the planet for eldians the plot of stay the same except 100 percent of life outside the walls would’ve died
@@hashyyrz673 this is taking me out helpp
Haha freedom goes brrrrr. Eren does what he wants. Period. He don’t take orders from NOBODY now.
I don't care if I have to wait for another month. I'm definitely gonna wait for Part 2. I've always wanted to imagine this possible topic ever since I saw season 3 episode 19.
Erwin was honestly the best character in the series, such a inspiration of an individual
I’d like to see a version of aot as a show just like Mavels what if it’d be sooo good
Ooh what if eren [MANGA SPOILER] never destroyed 80% of the world and mikasa stopped the rumbling
@@trigaashy2502 why would you do that 😭
@@MidnightNachos yessir
@@trigaashy2502 ngl i think eren made up the fact he destroyed 80 percent of hummanity like how did they get advance enough to develop stealth bombers and attack eldia its pretty much not adding up
@@Alien_From_Another_Universe He did destroy 80% and the attack on eldia happened 200 years later.
Armin's ability to think quickly and make plans was pretty hindered by Bert's being slow to take action, so it might affect Erwin's strategy making too
No, where?
Yeah, like Eren was a wild card. Imagine if Armin did die. (;;;*_*)
As if Erwin would just give up after the sacrifices everyone made so that he could live and see the basement.
You could do a what If on if Eren was eaten by Historia
GOOD IDEA 👍 👍
She would have been like her descendants. She would have let Paradis be destroyed because she would have had the king's ideology since she is of royal blood
Yeah, everyone is gonna be fucked.
Expect the rest of the world
Bye Bye Paradis 👋
Honestly, I think that Erwin, Eren, Mikasa, Floch, and a few other Scouts would have a disagreement with the Paradis higher-ups. I believe that Erwin would want to go undercover and observe the Marleyans to spot useful weaknesses, but the higher ups wouldn’t want to risk losing a potential ally. Erwin would argue that the Marleyans wouldn’t want to ally with the people they just tried to kill. Erwin would be caught starting a secret mission to invade Marley quietly and he would get arrested.
RIP ERWIN! You were and will always be the best commander attack on attack has ever had.

This actually sounds more entertaining than the original timeline tbh.
@@vchapa22 yeah, like tf did armin really do other than point out hints. Erwin could’ve also blown up those ships
@@nineotindo4563 those ships and all of Marley if he was feeling inspired enough
@@Draco_379-t6g and then the world exterminated them anyways.
Jesus christ Erwin's collosal titans forehead is massive
I mean he is super smart so
@@alanlowstuter9698 he looks ridiculous but I kinda like it
I cried when Erwin died all he wanted to do was confirm his dads theory :(
you are my favorite youtuber at all time
This is the biggest question I've had in the whole of AOT.
I agree because Erwin would have been OP with the colossal titan
Right? After Eren argued so much for Armin’s usefulness, that just fell off the face of the earth after he was brought back. I know he got that whole speech that he couldn’t hope to ‘replace’ Erwin, but it almost seems like he was TRYING to prove them right 😬
Erwin would have destroyed marley faster then eren
“Make the choice that you’ll least regret… no one knows how things will turn out” -Levi
It’s easy to say all this after seeing what armin later does or doesn’t do, but we just have no way of knowing if erwin would’ve been a better choice given how everybody else would react to armin dying (eren, mikasa, friends, etc) I doubt it would be the same attack on marley with just armin switched with erwin the whole season 4 would be so different and we just don’t know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@therealwelfin you are absolutely correct
I think you gained that knowledge after beating Spurs (first big team of the season) lol
Genuinely I have suddenly become addicted to this type of attack on Titan alternate universes
Not going to lie Erwin as the colossal Titan would have been so cool !
I wish someone makes a manga on this theory. It will be dope seeing Erwin again 💀🤯
imagine isayama decides to make like a next generation anime of aot and he brings erwin back
0:35 to be fair, Armin was also a clever plan guy It’s just that after season 3 ended he suddenly got retconned to be a passive dumbass. So it’s plausible that Erwin would have been retconned to be a passive dumbass too.
It said in anime that Armin planned this crazy plan to attack Marly.
The real title:What if Levi made the right choice
It wasent levi choise, it was erwin himself
"...made Armin fall in love with a crystal" that got me lol
Erwin creative battle tactics were amazing and the way he was willing to make sacrifices was incredible. Erwin was truly a devil for his enemies!!!!
I still think that Isayama had to kill him cause after the events of return to Shiganshina arc the premise of the series changed a lot, I mean the plot changed drastically and Erwin was just to smart that his presence would have made things way more interesting but also way to complicated
The tumbnail of Erwins collosal titan just looks like handsome squidward or the chad meme to me
Erwin was honestly my favorite character on the show but I think he would've been WAYYY less forgiving than Armin.
Although I think it was the right decision for Armin to get the colossal, I would have liked to have seen Erwin reach the basement before he died
Erwin’s titan: CAN YOU FEEL MY HEART 🎶🎶
Erwin is such a 🐐 truly one of the best anime characters I’ve seen
