Calne Bike Meet 2024 the sights and sounds plus two of my pencil drawings.

Welcome to my channel and this is my video from the Calne Bike Meet for 2024.
We started by checking out a Harley Davidson outside of the Lansdown Hotel on the Strand. I have never seen such a large amount of Harley Davison bikes in one event. This is probably the largest gathering of HOGS in the town since the closure of the Harris Bacon Factory in 1982. The Harris factory also made pork pies and was right across the road from the Lansdowne Hotel and it dominated the town centre. Today the town has been taken over by a massive bike meet which has a huge number of Harley Davidson but also most other makes that you could think off. This is my video of the sights and sounds.
I am drawn to the mechanical and design aspects of bikes and hopefully I have captured some different angles of shiny chrome and paintwork on a stroll around the town.
Back in my day as a teenager I had a Vespa Sportique 150cc in 1963, then after that a Vespa GS160cc and finally a Vespa SS 180cc. I won a silver trophy on the Isle of Man on the Manx 400 which was a time trial of eleven circuits of the TT circuit just over 400 miles, I did the Western 250 a couple of times that was a night rally of 250 miles starting near Newbury and going through Gloucester down towards Cardiff and then up over the Welsh Valleys to the Brecon Beacons and finishing next morning in Cheltenham. Fell of on the ice on a mountain road at about three in the morning, all good fun, but don’t just take my word for it! I also did the Scoot to Scotland organised by the motor cycle club of Great Britain I think, it started around midnight somewhere in the midlands and used mostly unclassified or B roads to finish in Ayer on the west coast of Scotland around five pm on Saturday afternoon.
For this video I used two action cameras on a monopod a Gopro Hero 8 for high level and an SJCam SJ8 Pro for low level shots to save my knees from bending too much. First time I had used this configuration and it needs a bit of fine tuning.
