When trent brought up Chris time as an ice dancer, someone mentions how it was also a competition that had two ice dancers where one dropped the other on their head and got immunity but never mentions them winning and if you remember the ice dancers in ridonculous race mentions how they were top ice dancers except for the time Jacques dropped Josee on her head which earned them second place implying that they never had one that they didn't get first. While it's never mentioned if both sets of ice dancers are one and the same but it totally be total drama to have that kind of foreshadowing.
I have a theory that Jacques is being manipulated by José so José can get a win, money, or fame from him. I feel like he’s just copying off of her because he isn’t trying to get hurt. In China she got mad at him for being clumsy and stuff when they landed in the stadium thingy and he got hurt. He didn’t get any help from José. But if you remember that one time in the confessional José was throwing crap everywhere and Jacques looked scared. He was covering his head and stuff trying to protect himself. This adds onto my theory. Because what if this is a everyday thing almost?

the ice dancers were my favorite team but getting "bronze" was the best karma they could have gotten so im happy with them getting 3rd. Plus Josee's meltdown after getting eliminated is one of my favorite scenes in the entire season
