The elders can’t accept their wrongdoings. The elders want control and they always want to be the right ones even when they’re wrong. I’m hopeful that as each generation comes by, Hmong people’s mindset will change. Accept the truth and correct the wrongs. Our Hmong sisters/daughters have come a long way. As I watch this video, I don’t only see KS asking her parents for forgiveness.. I see her asking for love and acceptance from Sheng as a mom. It’s sad that the one thing she wants the most.. a mother’s love.. she has to fight the hardest for. There’s no denying she wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for Lor & Sheng but at the same time… Lor & Sheng wouldn’t be where they’re at if not for KS too. She came into their lives when they needed her the most. She gave them the title of mom and dad again after they lost their child. Some may deny it, but she also became their source of income. She brought happiness & joy… and like every child in the world, she also brought heartaches and tears too. But that doesn’t make her a bad child who doesn’t know how to love her parents.

The elders can’t accept their wrongdoings. The elders want control and they always want to be the right ones even when they’re wrong. I’m hopeful that as each generation comes by, Hmong people’s mindset will change. Accept the truth and correct the wrongs. Our Hmong sisters/daughters have come a long way.
