I watched it. Trump acted like a petulant child. He melted down and couldn’t handle direct questions. It was bizarre. It highlighted his incompetence and how he doesn’t have the temperament to be president. It was embarrassing.
I watched it and as a Black woman, it makes me want to go harder for my sister VP Kamala Harris. Trump was only mimicking his country with his dismissive, disrespectful and childish behavior.
If her race and gender is so irrelevant- why do they keep making it talking point. Why do they keep trying to sell her race and gender as qualifications.
They don't. I'm white. They selected a qualified candidate and then highlight her sex and race in addition to it because studies show groups with members who are from marginalized subsets of society (women and brown and black folks) are stronger and adapt well to the real -world challenges facing those groups.

Here, I'll give you some examples of cognitive tests used in clinical practice: "Mini-mental state exam", "Montreal cognitive assessment", "Clock-drawing test". I think you'll find that they're not at all difficult and that passing them isn't really something to brag about except for maybe someone who's only at the age of Biden (81 y/o at the time of writing this) or Trump (78 y/o, only 3 years younger than biden).

A politician will highlight what's most relevant to their audience, without digressing into an extensive exposition on their ancestry. Any politician discussing race in the context of their ONLY opponent is obliged to do some basic RESEARCH, like learning her parent's ancestry. That's is a NO BRAINER, especially for a self proclaimed 'very smart' man. If grump was smart, he would have complimented her racial heritage. That would have caught the audience off guard. Trump was unsettled that there was no widespread applause. But that should have been expected.
The ABC facilitator is clearly heard welcoming the former President and thanking him for coming.
She then points the facts that there were delegates who did not want him to appear (one Board Member had resigned in protest at the invitation); given the underlying hostility which she acknowledged she then went on to highlight documented statement s and positions held by the former President and then invited him to discuss and indicate, given all the context, why Black Journalists specifically and minorities in a wider context should vote for him.
What followed was I think a tough listen for all concerned.

Because from what I saw, Trump was saying he was unsure about her race because he had always heard her call herself Indian until few years ago. By my interpretation, he's refraining from answering and putting the jury out there.

The interview was not a good look for the NABJ or the Harris campaign. The pant started 35 minutes late; they were rude, disrespectful and unprofessional; and it appears that there was a bias against Black men as the panel lacked representation of Black men who are also members of the NABJ.
