Hey BEAT family! We've been dealing with a lot of culturally relevant topics as of late but we never want to get too far away from why this channel was created and that is to teach the word of God. So, today we do a book review of Jonah. But, as always, I'm going to point out some POWERFUL lessons we can learn from this book. I hope you enjoy this and let me know what other books you'd like me to review in this fashion. Thanks!
@@ybnthepoet1260 Take time everyday to sit down and read His Word. The more you read, the more you get. This is what I have seen in my life at least, that the more time I spend with Him in prayer and reading, the more I hear from Him. But the OPPOSITE is also true for me. The less time I spend with Him, the less I hear AND the more agitated and negative I get internally :/
Why do some youtubers say that allen par is a false teacher😅 i know this is not approptiate to talk about this here but i have been listening to these kind of things buy some utubers
Cover songs nepal lol. It’s okay. Yes some people don’t agree with the doctrine of eternal security (aka once saved always saved) and so therefore they label me as a false teacher. This is a standard doctrine taught by the majority of bible scholars and teachers so they would have to label us all as false teachers if they want to discredit eternal security.
Why are you reading from the NIV? Luke 9:56 leaves out Jesus and Mathew 18:11 is just not there. KJV is complete NIV is incomplete. Can you please tell me why you would read from a bible that is not truthful?
Although we hear it all the time, "obedience is better than sacrifice," is not really Biblical. Jesus sacrificed His whole life for us. Although He was obedient to God in doing so, Jesus even says there's no greater love than to lay down one's life for a friend (John 15:13). Just a different perspective. 😘😘
Great message! I too was lead by the Holy Spirit to study the book of Jonah on yesterday and now I see why. I was one of those people who ran away from something into something much worst. God had planned for my life, but for me I didn't know it was him calling. I suffered much pain in the process, however I am so glad our Father didn't give up on me! So, don't run because there is no hiding place. Thank you Brother Parr!
I love how we get shown things even after we've read it or heard it often. I wonder if you knew that there are at least two Prophecies in Jonah? 3 days and 3 nights. Jesus was in the tomb 3 days and 3 nights (FYI Friday to Sunday doesn't fit). Also the 4 'day' prophecy. 1 day for a year. After the crucifixion, Jerusalem fell to Rome, 40 years later..... Jesus said to the Pharisees, the only sign they were going to get is Jonah. I love it when God puts in another puzzle piece.
My favorite lesson from this book of Jonah is that he recognized that he was guilty and accepted to be thrown in the sea because of his mistake. We need to humble ourselves when we are guilty because even when nobody sees us God is watching and if we humble ourselves God will provide, will never forsake us...
Hey man I'm 12 years old and I'm starting to get into having faith and loving god and I just wanted to say that I love your videos and they really open my eyes and inspire me. :)
Read the Bible, pray, obey God, obey your conscience, and accept the truth that your flesh doesn't like to hear on a daily basis! Don't allow yourself to be influenced negatively by other children your age, as they can contribute to you going down horrible paths.
Aww God bless you so so much, Jesus loves you so so much, the Lord is your strength, keep running this good race and always rely on the Holy Spirit- may He fill you and strengthen you always 💕💕

Jonah is a very interesting book. We see that our disobedience greatly affects others , and at the same time our obedience produces major affects as well. What ever decisions that we choose we must keep in mind that our actions will affect the lives of others whether for the good or the bad

Jonah is my favorite prophet. My favorite lesson from Jonah is that while our mistakes may be public our restoration is often done in private. The book ends with the Lord pouring into Jonah, but we don't get Jonah's response. That's why cancel culture is so dangerous. We never know what God is speaking into someone else.
I think I learned that it doesn't matter what you want or don't want ... when people's souls are on the line we have to put our selfish thoughts aside and do what is right
Yeah, Veggietales is a great show! Even though I am 18 years old now and I am no longer a little kid, I still love the show because it is silly and it is great for Christians. I will definitely show Veggietales to my future kids if I ever have any.
The book of Jonah also was a foreshadow of Jesus. Staying in fish for 3 days parallel to Jesus staying in the tomb for 3 days. Jonah was sent to take a message of salvation to Nineveh as Jesus brought salvation message to the world. Jonah message saved the people because they obeyed. JESUS message has saved those who have believed and they will not experience 2nd death.
Plus more my friend. There are 2 Prophecies in the book of Jonah. 3 days and 3 nights in the fish, also Ninevah was warned that they would be destroyed in 4 days. 40 years after the crucifixion Jerusalem fell to Rome.
Jesus said I will be in the earth for three days and three nights as Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights. It’s not like we do today and some attorneys will do part of the day is a day and then he was in the tomb a whole day and then he was in for part of another day. Buried on Friday and raised on Sunday that is not three days and three nights.
@@JamesAlling sorry I don't get your point. We normally refer to what the Bible says not our own imagination. What matters is the word. Whatever anyone says out of the word is a lie.

OK. This is odd. My church just started the book of Jonah study on Sunday. Yesterday while ministering to me someone who does not attend my church referenced the book of Jonah. And now THE BEAT.
Unbelievably perfect timing for my life. This video literally dropped as I was journaling on my phone regarding today's plan to deal with my wife and her Jonah behavior of running from God, our marriage and our children. God has such perfect timing.
Lesson learned: God doesn't stop what he started. Not in my life and not in the life of Jonah. I tried to run away for many years and slowly I lost the connection. Now God is in my life again, despite the fact that there are still some things I need to work on. He gave me peace in my heart. Love your videos. Keep up the good work.
My favorite lesson is that Jonah in a way was trying to be “God” , in that he even said he didn’t want to go to the city because he knew God was merciful and kind. I’ve felt like that too. I tried to lead a pure life and would be mad at God when a woman who I knew was promiscuous got married before me... and to a “good” man. But God had to remind Jonah with the tree that provided him shade... that sometimes others need God’s mercy and favor a little bit more than we do.
There are two lessons in the story of Jonah that I really liked: 1. God can save you even in the most impossible and most absurd of things (i.e. being eaten by a fish) 2. God and His Grace can make people change even if they were evil to the point that no one believes they COULD change. Like how Jonah didn't believe that the Assyrians could change, or that he'd make it out alive of preaching the Gospel in their city, and still God changed them through him. God Bless you, Mr. Allen Parr!
My #1 favorite lesson that makes me so thankful is that God is not a human like Jonah that he would change his mind. Many times I’ve been the people of Nineveh and I’m glad God didn’t treat me the way Jonah wanted him to treat the people of Nineveh.
*Act 1: Jonah Runs Away From God* 1:57 When we run away from God, we end up in a worse situation. 2:25 Rebelling against God normally ends up hurting innocent people. 3:08 The longer we rebel against God the difficult it becomes to rebel against Him. 4:00 *Act 2: Jonah Runs to God* 5:58 Even in our disobedience, god still cares and provides. 6:03 Be careful not t wait until you're in trouble to cultivate a relationship with God. 6:32 Sometimes God has to force us to a peace of solitude to communicate with us. 7:21 *Act 3: Jonah Runs For God* 8:06 God can often use us to accomplish great things in spite of our disobedience. 8:11 There is no one outside of God's reach. 9:15 *Act 4: Jonah Runs Into God* 10:00 Sometimes even the greatest servants of God struggle with discouagement and/or depression. 10:04 We need to learn to praise God just the same when He gives as when He takes away. 10:59 God's eternal plan of advancing His kingdom is much than our personal happiness, comfort and convenience. 12:22
Have a read of the 2 prophecies in Jonah. 3 days and 3 nights and also the 4 'days'. Jesus said to the Pharisees, that the only sign that they would get is Jonah....
I have shared this message with someone I love deeply who I think has strayed from the faith, please pray that God will reach her and bring her back to Him. God bless you Allen I praise Him and love Him for your ministry.
This is a very good lesson. I feel that God is talking to me because I been told that I have a calling on my life to preach the gospel. I want to be obedient. 🙏
I love how God changed His mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened after He saw what they have done (fasting) and putting a stop to their evil ways ❤️
Read this one again. There are 2 Prophecies that have been fulfilled in this book. 3 days and 3 nights and the 4 day. Jesus was in the tomb 3 days and 3 nights. He told the Pharisees that the only sign they were going to get was the sign from Jonah. 4 'days' after the crucifixion (1 for a year) Jerusalem fell to Rome. Watch AOC Network, they have even more information than just this prophecy.
God's Grace is written all over this book. God awesome. Slow to anger and abounding in Love. I love this book...God always has a way of getting our attention.
There is nothing I like more than when I'm low in faith for God to speek to me with this channel! After this video i have started running towards God instead of away from him!
I gain understanding from how well you expound upon The Word and how you are careful to bathe it in grace and not condemnation. It is a great thing you do in this day when so many have fallen away and are captivated by sin. THANK YOU!!!!
I only recently began to look at all the collateral damage to our disobedience but we cause it when we sin, like the wake of a boat crossing a pond. Thanks you brother Allen Keep'em coming ! ! ! ................
To not only rejoice when God pours out blessings in your life, but to also rejoice in the midst of tests and trials. Lord do I ever need help with that. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I want to say thank you. I found your Channel like an hour ago. I am 11 and sometimes it is very hard to grow in my relationship in God and my faith when he bible is such a carefully written book. Which can be hard to decipher. However watching some of your vids have made things easier to understand and clearer to me as to what I must do to grow in my relationship with God. As a young person in my community it can be hard to have a voice however I try my hardest to tell my friends about God and on any social media’s I have I post about God. Once again thank you. God bless.
This man has the gift of teaching. God bless you brother Allen. I can hear the Holy Spirit speaking through you. Even though I don't know you personally but I can testify that, after watching a couple of your videos, you're a disciple of Christ. Praise the Lord 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is me right now. Called to ministry - not necessarily to become a pastor but to share God's Word. I have had to leave my job which engaged in fraud and corruption, then I still procrastinated. Now I am at a dead brick. I am literally stuck and I am forced to move back to my parents' home. Now things are slow and challenging where I stay, yet I must move. I know it! Praying hard that He clears the path: so I can be able to move. I feel like such a fool for procrastinating. Gosh I have been crying and deliberating with Him and He seems silent: obviously because He spoke ages ago and I never listened. By the way, it is not like I engage in sin or anything, I am just comfortable where I am. But suddenly the comfort has turned to turmoil and I want to run home, even though I know that will be difficult. But He will be with me. Thank you for this video. I can't believe I ran for somany years.
Bro Allen.... The message that stands so clear in the story of Jonah is how Merciful God is to us and His deep Love for us! Jonah, the people of Ninieva and for all of us even still today! How awesome is God’s Love!! Keep on sharing God Word I Love your teaching style in your videos!! 🙌🏾
This is my 3rd year of being saved from my old self. This past couple of weeks I have felt detached from God. Life just got to busy, bills are just piling up. In the midst I have found myself wanting to read more of the Word, hear more, but my flesh wins over, today, I came across this video. Maybe I am running the opposite direction from God. I told my disciple group to pray for me, because I do want to stick with God but I get distracted. I believe this video is an answer to those prayer. Running away will bring destruction. Thank you Lord for Allen and his willingness to share your goodness. Thank you for convicting me. Amen ♥️🙌✝️🙌♥️
The greatest lesson I think we can learn from Jonah is that God is always with us doing what is needed to accomplish His plans for our lives. We may not always like His methods, but the outcome is always what we needed. Great video Bro. Allen! Can you do a book review of the prophet Obadiah? It was a lesser known book in the minor prophets bet it really speaks to the prideful (which is very common in our world today)
Thank you! Powerful message about sin/rebellion hurting other (innocent) people. I also had never really understood why Jonah didn't want to go there and was upset God was going to save them.
I felt demonic presence and pressure and I know that I was out of the will of God. I did end up hurting someone while rebelled this video was absolutely perfect. I’m going to run for God!
I love the practical lessons about God's character from these narratives. The Bible becomes alive, and I can find encouragement with some of the ways God dealt with the characters in the Bible who struggle like all of us.
I remember when I first tried to repent of my sins, and of course I would rebel sometimes. When the school shutdown due to COVID-19 I wanted to go back because I needed to work. Then I started rebelling against God and I used to enjoy prayer then like I said I started rebelling against God and I have these bad thoughts during prayer and it was getting worse then I stopped and I started living in sin, and from there I stopped praying and I would only confess some sins that bothered me the most. Then My disorder came back then I have thoughts about cursing God and miss using his name, and I know I have to repent of my sins, but my desire for repenting of my sins is low and I have thoughts that I don't care about if I miss use his name, and I avoid prayer to avoid my disorder which is scrupulosity
i loved that Jonah was real with God and that God helped Jonah even in the means of Disobedience. God setup the Whale without Jonah knowing there was a Whale. Praise God
Thank you for your video, I was under the illusion for years I was called by God to the ministry. One of the biggest misunderstanding in my life. My greatest lesson from the book of Jonah is God has enough grace to help someone living in disobedience like myself.
The 3 wills of GOD His: Permissive will ( What God allowed too happen ) His: Initial will (what God wanted Jonah to do) His: Ultimate will (What GOD set out for Jonah too do in the first place) The book of Jonah is more than just about the BIG FISH! The LORD’s GrAcE!!
Thank you for your work, pastor! You speak so clearly that even when I watch your video at 2x speed, I can understand every word! God bless you, you're helping me a lot with these videos. I'm from India.
Him sitting in the whale is also a good place to reflect and actually genuinely speak to God and hear from Him. We run away and then He gives us a chance to speak with Him. We get Him in so many ways.
Thank you for your videos Brother Parr. This one popped up first after searching "away from God" and it was just what I needed. Jonah is my favorite Bible story and it is no coincidence you were preaching from this book. I have not been in The Word or praying as I should lately. I am so miserable when I am not close to Him. My heart doesn't get pricked as often as I would like but this brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Sir, Happy New Year!

I just started the book of Jonah last night and you uploaded this today! Wow, what a God thing!!!
Have a read of the 2 prophecies in Jonah.
3 days and 3 nights and also the 4 'days'. Jesus said to the Pharisees, that the only sign that they would get is Jonah....
The greatest lesson we could learn is to obey God and do what He call us to do..
My favorite lesson is God’s mercy.
I have shared this message with someone I love deeply who I think has strayed from the faith, please pray that God will reach her and bring her back to Him. God bless you Allen I praise Him and love Him for your ministry.
Another point I took away is to never fear what God has in store for us.
Praise Jesus 🙏👏
Thank you Allan for going through Jonah. What I learned is that one cannot run away from God. God bless you all.
This is a very good lesson. I feel that God is talking to me because I been told that I have a calling on my life to preach the gospel. I want to be obedient. 🙏
Praise him when things are going good, and also when they aren’t!
God bless you so so much 💕💕
Yes there is no other way but to trust and obey. Thanks man of God .stay blessed
The greatest lesson is to praise God no matter our circumstances. Excellent video as usual. Allen. Thank you.
God's Grace is written all over this book. God awesome. Slow to anger and abounding in Love. I love this book...God always has a way of getting our attention.
There is nothing I like more than when I'm low in faith for God to speek to me with this channel! After this video i have started running towards God instead of away from him!
Glad I clicked on this message, may all of you be blessed.
In this COVID-19 times, we all need to praise God during this time. There will be struggles for all of us is some kind of form.
Jonah shows us that we should always obey God and not run away from God’s Grace. Thankful that God always pulls on my heart when I stray
True Colors Thanks for sharing the list
It's comforting to know that no one is too far gone, and God is near to us if we only listen to His voice. I needed this Parr. Thank you
I love how you broke that down my brother, you brought tears to my eyes. I really appreciate you and the work you are doing so serious
Bro... you preached that message just now!!!! Felt like you were talking to me directly
I gain understanding from how well you expound upon The Word and how you are careful to bathe it in grace and not condemnation. It is a great thing you do in this day when so many have fallen away and are captivated by sin. THANK YOU!!!!
No way! I recently read the children’s version.lovely story.
Excellently
I only recently began to look at all the collateral damage to our disobedience but we cause it when we sin, like the wake of a boat crossing a pond.
Thanks you brother Allen
Keep'em coming ! ! !
................
I think my lesson I learned is responsibility we all have it as Christians we all have jobs to do.
God bless you Allen
Man, I love this guy!
My favorite lesson is this: God WILL redirect you.
God bless you bro!!
Amen
♥️🙌✝️🙌♥️
In times of hardship, trust God and know that it’s all a part of his plan.
God’s will is always best for us!!!!
This definitely my season of God using me!!
What a 👀 opener! Well taught my brother in Christ JESUS!❤🙏🏽✝️
Even though you there are times you Rebel the Lord will always be there and come back for you
Churching America loves you and we will see God's plan there is nothing to worry about now
first... God bless you bro!
Thank you! Powerful message about sin/rebellion hurting other (innocent) people. I also had never really understood why Jonah didn't want to go there and was upset God was going to save them.
Thank you Allen for obeying God and sharing the truth of God's word with us.
To praise God all the time and thank him all the time even in the most difficult seasons of our life.
Oh my, I know this all too well.
Year after year in toxic relationships ignoring God.
Just listen and follow His lead. TRUST ME.
I felt demonic presence and pressure and I know that I was out of the will of God. I did end up hurting someone while rebelled this video was absolutely perfect. I’m going to run for God!
God is always ready to help us, for he loves us❤️🇳🇦
say that to all the people gassed in the holocaust
Sir, this video blessed me A LOT today. Thank you!
Me favorite lesson was that don’t let emotions take over my obedience to God
Praise God
I was just studying this book. This is a confirmation of lessons learned
You dont know how much I needed to hear this message ...thank you Jesus I feel healed.
I like this because Jonah it struggling what I am struggling about this massage was great thing for me wow praise the Lord Jesus Christ Halleluia
More of these please !!!! And parable studyssss
Thank you for your video, I was under the illusion for years I was called by God to the ministry. One of the biggest misunderstanding in my life. My greatest lesson from the book of Jonah is God has enough grace to help someone living in disobedience like myself.
God bless your message and your faithful soul to His honor and glory!! Thank you Pastor Allen! ❣️❤️❣️🙏🙏🙏
Man, when I say I am going through it this very second but this has helped. Thank you brother
The 3 wills of GOD
His: Permissive will ( What God allowed too happen )
His: Initial will (what God wanted Jonah to do)
His: Ultimate will (What GOD set out for Jonah too do in the first place)
The book of Jonah is more than just about the BIG FISH!
The LORD’s GrAcE!!
When God has something for us,yes we can run as far as we could but we can't escape from His plan for us.
We can refuse and reject His will and plan for us. It's called free will.
God's will always prevail.
That was awesome mini study on Jonah, Thank you Mr. Parr, God bless you all, Yeshua is KING!!!
The number one lesson I could take away from Jonah is that when God calls for you to do something for Him we need to be obedient to His commands😇🙌
Thank you for your work, pastor!
You speak so clearly that even when I watch your video at 2x speed, I can understand every word! God bless you, you're helping me a lot with these videos. I'm from India.
God shows his unconditional love through his many second chances, he even provides for us while we sin.
My favorite lesson is to praise God in all times and I think that is something important as Christians we should do
Him sitting in the whale is also a good place to reflect and actually genuinely speak to God and hear from Him. We run away and then He gives us a chance to speak with Him. We get Him in so many ways.
Trust God, immediate obedience is the very best decision.
This was a good word. Just watched during my lunch. I’ve been astray and I’m trying to get back to the word and our God.
I appreciate how well you break everything down. ❤️
