  • In this vlog we are travelling from Ilocos Norte to Boracay. This was our first time visiting Boracay.
We only realised we got scammed with one of those taxis when later that day we asked for pricing from other drivers. We paid 100 php to travel 500m down the road. So we knew later that we got scammed.
Anyways, we did not even think about it because we enjoyed this beautiful island.

Where is Boracay and a bit of history?
"Boracay is a resort island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines, located 0.8 kilometers (0.50 mi) off the northwest coast of Panay. It has a total land area of 10.32 square kilometers (3.98 sq mi), under the jurisdiction of three barangays in Malay, Aklan, and had a population of 37,802 in 2020.
Boracay was originally inhabited by the Tumandok and Ati people, but commercial development has led to their severe marginalization since the 1970s."

The roads look very difficult for disabled people 😢. It's great there is lot's of bike taxis. Is scamming happening more when they see foreigners or does it also happen to Philipinos there ? Nice restaurants over there, food looks yummy 😋

Yes the tricycle is common is Philippines, but specifically on Boracay island they use those electric bikes. Since it is touristy.
Usually they want to try charge more than regular for their services and we even asked locals what the price would be, then we ask the driver’s that price. Can also happen to Filipinos especially if they don’t negotiate or know the price.
Most tourist places they will try charge you more, but the key is to say no then they will change their price quickly.
