I received several questions in the comments section of my DIY Sim Build video regarding how to setup a dual display system for GS Pro or any home golf simulator setup. In this video I go through the steps of how to set up multiple displays for your sim. As always, if you have any questions or comments, please leave them below as I respond to every comment I receive!

Display Port to HDMI Cable

Thank you! These are precisely the issues I am working on with my system right now, and you anticipated and addressed each one of them, including the single HDMI port on my graphics card. Much appreciated!
That’s great feedback!! I’m so glad you found it helpful!
Thank you for your videos. I'm in the process of setting up my own home simulator. I need to finish some sheetrock and painting work in the room before I can set everything up.
One minor comment - what you called a "data port" is really referred to as a "display port", I believe.
Yep, you are 100% correct! I really should have researched that!! I just winged it and shouldn’t have! Thanks for the feedback!
Great video... Thank you for taking the time to do this..
Glad you got some value out of it!!
About to go look to see if you have any videos which show the use of OBS and how for instance, you can show a GSPro course, yourself hitting the golf ball, and then the advanced club data all on the same screen.
I’m really sorry but I don’t have any experience with additional camera setups. I go old school, tripod and smart phone and just watch recorded video.
@@TheGolfNerd Not a problem. I'm old school as well. I'd like to see what I can figure out with OBS and GSpro. Long weekend. Will start playing with it tonight.
I have the Garmin R10, need to see what I can get from it for second screen , Thanks, Spike
Golf Nerd,
Thank you for your build & monitors videos - very informative. Just a couple basic setup questions for you as I am trying to decide between Mevo+ and Full Swink Kit for my Launch Monitor. My room size is 12' (W) X 9' (H) by 17' (L) and everyone says get a SkyTrak because you need more length tu use either Mevo or FS. However, a couple sales reps for both have said you can have a minimum of 8' from tee to screen and 8' from tee to Monitor. Other folks have commented that I won't get accurate ball data with those distances. What has been your experience to date? I'm considering a Net Return SCreen as opposed to a simulator screen and using Smart TV as my display instead of projector and screen - any thoughts on one vs the other setup? Thank you for your advice
Thanks for the question! So I’m not a fan of the full swing system as the reviews I’ve read and comments I’ve seen online make me believe they have accuracy issues, especially in an indoor setup. As far as Mevo +, in my older video I was hitting into a net and using a tv like you suggest. 8’ Mevo to ball and 8’ to net will work fine as long as you don’t have sources of interference present, metal, fans, fluorescent lighting, etc…. However, 8’ to an impact screen is too close in my opinion. The ball will come back at you fairly aggressively in this scenario. I suppose if you hung a screen more loosely to reduce bounce back it would help, but you then run the risk of wrinkles or waves in your screen. If I was in your situation I would probably lean more towards a camera based system like skytrack or preferably Bushnell Launch Pro or Foresight GC3. The cost is higher but you will eventually want an impact screen and this would set you up for the future. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if any of this is unclear. Also, if you haven’t already, please consider subscribing!
Par2pro has an awesome quiet impact screen that has limited bounce back. I use it it in my setup
@@rob9667 thanks for sharing your experience!!
Just got my pc today. Has multiple hdmi ports but appears only one comes from the graphics card. So I’m assuming use the projector on that one and then use one of the extras for the monitor?
Not quite. Those motherboard HDMI’s essentially bypass the GPU. You’ll need a converter that goes from data port to hdmi. Like this. www.amazon.com/dp/B0BBZ3PCPV/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_NK7BGFQ8GPDJKFKRJPPY?linkCode=ml2&tag=thegolfnerd-20
@@TheGolfNerd why would it be bad to bypass the gpu for the regular computer monitor and just use the gpu output for the projector?
@@codythomas9661 you can always try
at the :42 sec mark.....
you launch "advanced".....
and club data comes up in a separate window.
Is this unique to GSPro? Or does Awesome Golf, E6, or others have this ability to have two windows up at the same time?
Thanks for posting this...
I believe this is unique to gs pro. I’ve used e6 and it did not behave in this way. I haven’t used awesome golf so cannot comment. Thanks for the question!!
GN - Awesome content. To clarify, to do this you would need (2) separate HDMI ports from your PC/laptop - correct?
Kinda. You could go the route of (2) HDMI ports or more commonly (1) HDMI port and (1) display port. You can get converters that go from a display port to HDMI. This is more common with many GPU’s. If building a pc, you can find GPU’s that have (2) HDMIs which simplifies things. Thanks for the question!!
Have a question i have my projector on 4k, laptop 1080 and where i launch connector and such. How do i connect or set the display, to use my 1080 touch screen gor my game play?
I can use the c port and add display, but where can i get signal, control game with TS and not lose 4k?
Year a half, just connected projector alone and got my 4k option. Thanks Spike
I’m really sorry but I don’t have any experience working with touch screens. You might want to ask the discord group. Here’s an invite you can use to join. discord.gg/simulatorgolftour
I'm thinking of that setup, how did you eventually do it?
I can’t seem to find that screen on gs pro I have to drag it to my projector screen every time I open it any suggestions so I don’t have to do this
I’d like to help but I’m not sure what you are referring to as “that screen”. Can you help me understand what you mean?
@ so when I start gs pro it’s shows up on my main monitor all my projector shows is the screen for computer so I drag gs pro to the projector screen or I have to make the projector my main screen when I start ga pro and go to setting I don’t see any where it says where to send it to as far as a screen like in the beginning of your video that dosent show up on gs pro thank you
@@jameshiggins5573 i believe in the video i cover how to set up the display parameters. i would double check your setup there first. this isn't a gspro issue, it'll be a windows setting
When you launched GSP you selected Screen 2, but when you 'identified' the monitors, your monitor showed as 2. How come?
I'm really not sure. I noticed this as well. The good news is when you set it up one time, it always opens in the same way. The settings do relate to the identified screen number, but the GS Pro launch window doesn't seem to match. It might be in there code??? Really not sure. Wish I could offer a better answer!
I have the 3060ti gpu and it only has 1 hdmi and I believe 3 display ports. If I plug my projector and monitor up one in hdmi the other on display port it won’t let me do custom resolutions. Any way around this?
I’m afraid I’m not as familiar with the 3060. You may want to ask at the discord GSPro group. Certainly other have run into your issue. Here’s an invite:

Sorry I couldn’t be more help!!
I’m not sure if you can help, but I’m having issues extending displays. I recently added gspro and a new 4080 laptop. I have a Benq 4k projector and can duplicate screens but projector image doesn’t fill screen and I can’t seem to drag gspro from laptop screen to projector. Is it as simple as telling the startup menu which screen I want gspro displayed on? So I need my laptop settings set before I log in? I’m gonna try that tomorrow and make sure my settings are correct before I start gspro pro. Also, I can only have the gspro on 1 screen then? I assumed I’d need it on both screens to use mouse to navigate and also for keyboard shortcuts. I spent all afternoon trying to figure out how to display and didn’t get to play. Hopefully it’s not that way everytime. I figured I’d get a TV installed and cast my swing data to it and have gspro on laptop screen and projector but I’m not sure I’m smart enough lol. Thanks for any advice!!
I think I discussed this in the video, but you need to make sure you have the projector setup as a second screen and not just mirroring the same info twice. Then when you start GSPro it’ll ask which display to use, select the one that goes with your projector. I’m not confident that you’ll be able to use a tv and a projector with a laptop. That might be a challenge. Hope this helps but reach out again if I can help further!
Do you know how many FPS you’re getting with your 3060TI on 1080p? I have GTX 1060 in my laptop so just curious how much I’m lacking on FPS
Nvm I just seen your summary chart you’re a legend thanks man
