I have ford everest abiente 2016, when i driving, the steering suddenly stock. When this happen i just stop the car, turn off the ignition, take off the key and it will okay again. I talked this incident to the ford mechanic(Casa), but there advice me to replace the whole EPS, which is too expensive for me. Local mechanic can't fix it either. Any suggestion.

My Steering wheel suddenly started to become hard on Park and Neutral but turns normally on Driive and Reverse gear. When that happens, the PS light illuminates and goes off when i engage the Drive or Reverse gear. Any idea on what i should do to get it sorted? Its a 2006 Toyota Crown.
In this scenario here it didn't serve any real purpose. Mainly because he's dealing with a low resistance load, being an electric motor. I've used a light bulb on circuits that have a possible unknown short. Rather than continously blowing fuses each time you turn the unit on, you run an incandescent bulb in series. If it lights up bright like it would if it was connected straight to power, that means you probably still have a shorted component. If it lights dimly your circuit may try to turn on but won't have full power. Then you take the bulb out of the circuit and try it as normal. It should power up without blowing a fuse. This is providing that you previously replaced a component or more prior to this test. Often times when you have a shorted component in electronics it will short out other components all the way back to the fuse. The light bulb filament doesn't allow enough current to blow the fuse and eliminates high current that can destroy the new components you just replaced. It's a technique used by electronics technicians for troubleshooting. I have no idea what the purpose would be here other than a visual verification of power being present at the connection to the motor. However, you are dealing with two wires straight from a battery, there's no need for that simple setup.

Check your battery voltage chcek your eps motor control module and torque sensors

If it's a hydraulic steering, than it could be pressure or flow control valve issue....By the way, what was the problem?

Please check your battery and Alternator charging voltage it's happened when Electric Power not enough
