For a full story of our trip check us out @ www.montana-wild.com. This is our yearly fishing trip that takes us north towards NW Montana in search of feisty native cutthroats. The fish on the last day of the trip fought pound for pound tougher than any other fish I've had the chance to hook up on. The scenery is amazing and it's a yearly must do for us.

Mary, you have to be proud to have places like these and you have to protect them....Showing so beautiful places could be dangerous for your quiet but it could help you to protect it too......today it's not against fly fishers who need and want like you protect places like yours.Your fighting must be against industrial agriculture and pollutions. In France we have wonderful rivers but no trouts because of pollution and industries near the rivers, electrical dams....
    Regards
    Robert

Great videos guys! I grew up fishing the Bob as a kid. You make me homesick. One of my best trips ever was up the Blackfoot, across the divide into the Danaher and then down to the South Fork of the Flathead. The cutts in the Danaher meadows were amazing!

Love these spots. 0:28- just before the South split for the East or West side of Hungry Horse Reservoir. 0:56, just South of the Spotted Bear campground and Spotted Bear Forest Service camp, was one of my favorite camping spots 10 years or so ago. Bob Marshall is a great wilderness.

Out of 28,262 people who viewed this you wanna know how many went to this creek to fish it....MAYBE 5 people. Most people won't hike to get where this is at. People like Mary Weidn and Stacey Hauck are ignorant of the stats. I have my own website for FF and hardly any of them are willing to hike past their cars to fish these remote spots. Nice vid MontanaWildOutdoors

Does it? Did we draw them a map and say "We're right here!"? C'mon man. This is one of the most beautiful places in Montana. To not tell others and share it is just plain selfish. That's like people never taking photos or telling anyone about Glacier. If more people go there because of one video then great, there probably getting away from their damned tv and enjoying God's country.

I'm not from Montana but spent three years in Alaska and had deal with Grizzly's a lot. I would assume the precautions are similar in general when it comes to Grizzly's. The main thing when you're in Grizzly country is to make a lot of noise when you're walking through wooded areas where you can't see very far in any particular direction. Singing is good, or the old standby of repeating "Hey Bear!" as you're walking.

Lol. Perhaps Mr Blake has an issue or two. Great vid. Beautiful scenery. Co. here. Can appreciate the solitude. I personally catch far more than I could eat so releasing most is only responsible. I'm thinkin a certain poster eats all he catches because he catches so few. His talents may be his nemesis. Just a thought. Keep up the vids.

Mary your views scream selfishness. We make the videos we do to inspire folks to get out and make their own adventure. Why wouldn't you want to share an amazing place like this? I'd rather have folks out enjoying the great parts of Montana then in front of their tv being fed senseless crap. And the Native Montanas comment is a joke. Montana is for everyone, not just the people who live here.

    • @matttroutman4515

Kurt Homan Okay, I wasn't realizing you were kind of fantasizing about the locations. Yep, those guys go to some pristine, but hard to get to places, I wouldn't be sharing the locations on UA-cam. It's one thing to tell a couple of trustworthy friends but it's entirely different to post it on UA-cam with the potential of thousands of viewers.

I always carried bear spray for protection as well as either a shot gun with "slug" ammo or large caliber handgun. A 9mm won't cut it. In the video above, that was a baby black bear, and totally different tactics are used if you confront one as compared to a Grizzly.

the gun and bear spray is so you have both a lethal and no-lethal. use the bear spray first and if the bear is still threatening you get the gun ready.
to put your mind at easy I do the things I told you above and have never even seen a bear
    hope this helps

+Alexander Driscoll Either spring before run off in march and sometimes april or in the summer months june, july or august late evenings or early mornings. If you are familiar with the rivers you can literally catch fish anytime of the year though. I caught a 21 inch rainbow two days ago on my fly rod in the middle of a blizzard, it was awesome.

  • @65x55swedish

well I live only about a hour from glacier park and I can say this
don't eat where you sleep keep your food away from camp and
if you do see a bear is to do a couple of things.
    1) stay calm one of the worst things is to freak out and run
    2)bring a can of bear spray + a gun
    3)don't approach the bear
4)do not try to get between cubs and momma bear
and a tip don't go alone and just be aware that there is bear. 80% of the time bear will leave you alone if you don't threaten them or get in the way
