If GSC fails with A life 2.0, i hope the modder community can bring back something similar to A Life 1.0. Thats what made stalker so fun...the encounters and gun fights.

@@DeadsmegmaYeah, one STALKER modder who is associated with GAMMA, even said that for what can be seen, A-life is in the game. It's just incredibly broken, so it either doesn't work or causes tons of problems like weird enemy patrols and such.
@@failedtalent1018 Could be that what’s been found are more like remnants of when GSC tried to build a new A-Life system in UE5 but decided to scrap the idea later. It may not be an “actively used but broken” system and more the cutting room floor parts of it.
I personally like how GAMMA looks more. New S.T.A.L.K.E.R. looks wierd to me. It seems way too colorful and plastic. Nights are too bright too. The original trilogy had a lot more of a dirty and dark atmosphre, especialy Call of Pripyat and looking at Heart of Chernobyl something just feels off. EDIT. I also hate how shitty the HUD is.
Also the trees look (to me) more real on GAMMA, i know the trunks and branches look great on Unreal 5 but in GAMMA there are more trees and the foliage looks right, it reminds me of walking outside in the countryside near where I live, also the lighting on Xray is unmatched by any game engine I can think of
I'm a fan of gritty and dark atmospheres but I'll have to disagree with you. Gamma looks too artificial with the shaders and overall less realistic. Also, Mods like Anomaly, Gamma and other tacticool overhaul mods really gave the community a false sense of the Stalker games. The original stalker games never looked like Gamma, they had their own unique atmosphere and style. Which I actually prefer over the mods. Stalker 2 definitely looks more realistic and the colors are appropriate for the style. Its actually the opposite in this case, Gamma looks way more saturated than Stalker 2.

As I mentioned, Unreal Engine makes it look cartoony and simply inferior in atmosphere to the original trilogy. Emisions are shitty too compared to how they were portrayed in previous titles. Gamma and all there other COS-like modpacks are cool but their feel is infinitely more S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-like than whatever we got here. This ain't my S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the one I waited for got cancelled many years ago...

The Original Stalker formula is definitely there, although not very noticeable even for Stalker fans like me. My point is that, I like the fact that they went a different direction. The game is more story focused and the Cinematics are solid. The foliage makes the world of Stalker 2 look smaller and the story of stalker 2 takes place 10 years after CoP. So the lack of population could be explained by that.
I know they watered down the games graphics and stripped the lighting to a bare minimum to run on last gen consoles but I was expecting more for almost 17 years. The lighting and shadows in SOC hold up so great. Modders will fix it 😂 😅😂
story telling graphics more customizable guns and a lot of passion of devs (living ones and those who died) that made this game even a thing while a WAR is happening in their country

i mean graphically i would say stalker 2 looks better BUT what good is graphics when you can't even see enemies beyond 100 meters also gamma feels alot more calming to the eyes because its not blurry and crowded all the time also not to mention you can always make your gamma look better with some add-ons to thr point where i'd say gamma wins graphics wise even LoL because of the reasons i stated stalker 2 is not a game its a semi cinematic experience where you walk a to b whereas gamma is an immersive survival in the zone where you can actually tinker plan ahead loot repair craft rank up while also progressing a semi done story gamma wins with overwhelmingly better gameplay there is nothing in stalker2 no a-life no loot beyond the basics no suprises nothing interesting going on ever no survival beyond eating there isn't even thirst lol no sleeping beyond in the pre determined spaces no life in the zone at all anomaly hunting is better BUT the artifacte you find in gamma are way more interesting stat and feature wise where they can completely alter your play style stalker 2 gives you 0 motivation to explore because there is nothing to explore beyond good views... which is again not something you want foremost in a game... a game is to play... i genuinely got bored from stalker 2 the moment i realized there is no a-life and no loot beyond the same vodka bread stash and there was no real reputation 😔
Except Unreal Engine 5 is highly moddable, with the sdk it's way moreso than X-Ray. UE5 is overused and overhyped, it's unoptimized...but it is highly moddable.

Me and my GF watched that Clip and was more amazed from Gamma then from Stalker 2 the Bricks on the Building at 9:46 was looks Way better then in Stalker 2, Stalker 2 has higher Tech but what Modders created with a Engine from 2009 is more fascinating and deserves more Respect, the Light and Atmosphere is deeper and more threatening. At this State i would always prefer Gamma and send those Guys my Regards, the Modders did the Job with more Love then any other Devs can do. All about Money! Saying it is "broken" is an excuse, they had to delay several times and obviously, just like literally ANY other game nowadays, they had to cut corners to hit their release date. One of those corners was A-Life 2.0 . Why do i say its not present? Heres my reason: A broken A-Life system doesnt result in the exact same types of enemy groups spawning so close to you in such regular intervals. Its scripted, on purpose. There is no A-Life present as of now, they had to cut corners to release as planned. A broken system doesnt result in such regular and repeating encounters. Just play longer, you will notice how every half an hour (roughly) you will have either bandits spawn close to you and spot you instantly, one or two bloodsuckers suddenly showing up, 4 boars or some dogs. Its always the same enemies, mostly the same group sizes of enemies, always in regular intervals, which is wayyy too controlled to be result of a "broken A-Life system". Its scripted so at least SOMETHING happens to the player while theyre exploring. I dont mean to hate on the Devs here. I love stalker, i played my first stalker game as a child and i want nothing but success for any Stalker Game. But the A-Life system isnt broken, its non present. Simple as that. Theyre working on bringing it into the game, not fixing it. Its not broken or anything, its simply not finished.

If they spend 2 years making XrayEngine64 next level. Graphics is not everything you will be fed up after 30 minutes. gameplay is everything and dynamic environment. Unreal Engine is just making every game look the same as other games made with it. So, sad to see Game Devs are only care about Graphics. Gamma is almost same Stalker 2 with few graphics features are good in UE5. I wish people can understand my point. sorry for my bad English.
I think it's worth mentioning that the gamma gameplay is a highly modified version of call of pripyat running on pc and the stalker 2 gameplay is off of console gamepass cloud streaming not a high end gaming pc. Not exactly a fair comparison graphics wise.
Is Stalker 2 as moddable as the original game? If yes then the modding community will take care of all the lacking features in the game and bring it to better than AAA quality. Just like they did with the original Stalker.
No matter how many mods you download for Anomaly, the graphics and world detail will be much worse than in Stalker 2. But you'll still have to pray that Anomaly will launch at all. And another important thing is that good graphics in this case is not some kind of reshade that makes dark areas 100% black and light areas white as snow, but realistic lighting, new textures, models and colours, and without lumen or ray tracing it's impossible to do it at the level of stalker 2.

GAMMA was built on at least 12 years of active modding before the project was even started, we’re talking at least a decade of entirely community-driven engine work, knowledge building, big projects that established entirely new gameplay mechanics (e.g. Misery 2). This is going to be one rough road. Seems more promising if GSC themselves actually stick with the game for 2-3 years, funded through expansions or something, and build it up to expectations.

I love how its almost identical between the 2 games. gsc really put a ton of effort to get it right an they did fantastic job.

One thing your leaving out is heavily modded since it's release. Any game put up against a modded version is gonna lose 100% of the time.

Saying modders will fix the game is just copium. STALKER 2 is made is using unreal engine 5 it won't be as moddable as x-ray engine.

Gamma is just a modpack for Stalker Anomaly. People just use gamma because its more well known due to UA-camrs and streamers.
