Abandoned Epcot Center Omnibus

  • When Epcot Center opened in 1982, it offered another type of transportation in addition to the Friendship Boats still in service today. The Double-Decker Omnibus. Since the buses were listed as a service on the same page as first aid, baby services, lockers, and telephones, they remain largely undocumented. When exactly they stopped being used is up for debate. People report seeing the buses as late as the mid 90s, but from about 1993-2004 the buses were used for entertainment purposes only. Sometime in the 2010's at least two of the buses were sold. One of the buses that was used for an entertainment offering called Characters on Holiday was bought by the 3 Sisters Speakeasy in Kissimmee. It sits in a parking lot, posing as just a regular Double-Decker bus but certain remnants of Epcot Center can't be removed.

    I remember before that bus came on stage at Epcot Minnie flashed her bloomers at us cast. It was quite funny!
