Speaking of Buffalo Bill, I just found out the other day that he tried to get permission to participate at the 1892 World's Fair in Chicago, but was denied because they didn't want something as "low brow" as a Wild West show bringing down the prestige of the fair. So he bought up the property next door to the fairgrounds, and set up anyway., with his entrance right next to the main Fair. Made a tidy profit.
Tuco was funny with the deadpan reaction. The only exhibition shooter I ever met was Bill Jordan. Shooting aspirin tablets in the air with wax bullets and such was only one of his amazing trick shots. I'm still impressed to this day.😲
Yet another awesome video, Santee! Somebody needs to tell Arizona Red that whiskey and gunpowder is an explosive mixture, or as John Wayne said in The Shootistist - '..that who hit John don't go with guns..'
Very interestingly informative and awsome inspiring video, i really liked and enjoyed it, great job and well done keep up the great work. I got a lot of inspiration for the old west, creepypasta, old internet and video games inspired mythos-archive project 'Mysteriarch VideoTech Archives mythos, that Im working on writing the second half of the first short story for and I also learned alot about shooting exhibitions in tge old west frontier. Today I'll b3 combining the old west with video games, internet and creepypasta history for the first five lore and forum post stories in my mythos-archive project.
That was so cool. Talk about tons of practice, and great timing... WOW, so impressive. Being blindfolded takes the cake, IMO. Thanks for another great video, Santee. Hey, be careful what you say. 🔫 😂😉🤠👏🏻👏🏻
I just ran across a shooting story I bet you don't know Santee and this show is the perfect place to tell it. We have all heard of Billy Dixon at the Battle of Adobe Walls 2 and his 7/8's of a mile shot. But I bet you never heard of Jack Bean and the Battle of Lodge Grass Creek, Montana. Jack Bean made a head shot of an Indian sniper at 1700 yards with his specially made Sharps. Most of the Indians there were later at Little Big Horn and among the white men was Liver eatin' Johnson. Some speculate that the reason the Indians didn't pursue their attack on Reno was because he had time to dig in and they shied away from fights where their opponents had time to dig in.
Keep it coming bros! Yall are savages with the dad comedy 😅. Love me some ole west boys. Think everyone here has had the wish to live just one day in those times ( most of us would prob die during said day but hey, ypu know, a man and his "Roman Empire" except its The West for me.
Looks to me like a good time was had by Arizona and You. On my Vacations last week, I was going to do the exact same thing, go out to the Desert and get some Target Shooting in but the cold weather made me say never mind. Have a great week Mr. and Mrs. Santee
I’ve heard Pancho Villa liked to shoot whiskey bottles. But he liked to lay them on their sides and shoot through the bottle necks so only the back ends of the bottles blew out. Though modern marksmen probably could do that, I’ve never seen them try.
Thanks for such an interesting video for the first video of the year. Thanks for having on such interesting folks. Take it easy man, and be safe out there.
A lot of folks believed Ed McGivern was instinctively snap shooting at targets because he fired so fast. To prove the naysayers wrong he had the rear sights of his handgun adjusted after each shot he took at a series of tossed coins. When the coins were lined up in the order fired, the strikes on each of them had moved in the same direction as the sight adjustments. He was aiming.
The wikipedia page (linked below) lists some amazing feats. Like Tom Frye who shot 2.5" wooden blocks tossed in the air using a .22 rifle. Over 14 straight days he shot at 100,010 of them and only missed 6 times. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhibition_shooting
When I was younger the family trip every summer was to go to Knott's Berry farm a western type amusement park and they would have the same kind of events going on. It was just great to watch these guys they were so great at their craft. Loved it. Thanks for another great video Santee 🤠
What?!? Wait! Where's the ''pew-pew''? If there ever was an episode that warranted a ''pew-pew'' at the end it was this one! But aside from that G-L-A-R-I-N-G omission, this was a fun episode.
bullets were expensive back then too, a cowboy wouldn't shoot up a box of bullets just for fun, then there's cleaning it afterwards, the bullets were corrosive back then and would damage the barrel if left uncleaned
Good day to you Arizona Ghost Riders. Ted from Texas. Sorry for the late response. I did watch your video Saturday morning. I always look forward to seeing what you have to show us. Stay safe and have a Happy New Year man
Good morning Santee from Oklahoma!!! Great video for sure but I wouldn’t be goin round pickin a fight with ole Tuco. He looks like he ain’t had his mornin fiber and could be a mite testy.
Another wonderful episode! As a former equestrian and lover of all things history, I love all your videos! The funny bits in between the old West facts show how both creative and knowledgeable y’all are. Love from Michigan! 👋💛
Just like Hickok, Hardin, and Mr. Howard he was ambushed. Also, it's a well known fact that the afterlife ensures fast and accurate shootin' Thanks for watching you rapscallions!
Fun Fact: In the Entertainment Industry, a complimentary pass or ticket to a show was called an ''Annie Oakley'' because the end of the ticket stub where the ticket price was printed would be punched out with a 1/4'' punch -- aproximating a .22 Cal bullet hole. In the old days, when tickets were manually counted up as box office receipts, the lack of a price on the ticket stub told the accountants that seat had gone out for free. Sadly, with greed and inflation, the practice of giving out Comp Tickets or ''Annie Oakleys'' has declined greatly.
@@ArizonaGhostriders It's very rare now. Sometimes, if the road company had a reason for a bigger house, say a drama critic from a local paper was known to be coming, they might ''paper the house'' and ask the crew if they know any family or friends who might want to see the show. Greed has triumphed, alas... And ''Annie Oaklies'' might as well be Vaudville era slang.

You both look about the same height. 🤔 Love your episode on extravisinz, explosivinisions, exportnissions, exhibition sharpshooters. 🧐 Great seeing Arizona Red too. Hey! Love the neckerchief! 😋

Most excellent appearance!
Would love to have seen the Buffalo Bill show in person.

"7-Eleven."

When I was a cub scout a fast draw guy shot a baloon I was holding...blindfolded. I thought it was amazing.
Was that because he missed you and hit the target? Don't imagine that would go over well in this modern age. @@ArizonaGhostriders
Even as a wee lad, I found myself competing at the shooting galleries. Awesome to see Tuco on your channel!
Cool!!!

Good Morning Santee … as usual another very informative episode… Thanks for your efforts!
Much appreciated.
Another lucky winner! Gun spinning by Santee, comedy, and Bob Munden all in one!

Where do you do your open desert shooting Santee? I’m in NW Tucson always looking for a place to save range fees!
There's a place north of Florence on 79 (past the Reserves range) that allows recreational shooting (with some rules)
I was wondering, Santee. Did folks in the old west wear armor ever? Like chainmail and such? - James
Not to my knowledge. There's a rumor that Wyatt Earp wore a chain mail shirt, but that's never been substantiated.
