I really regret the purchase of the Code Snippets Plugin. It has bugs, the support doesn't answer and promised feature updates aren't available even after months. Worst purchase in a while.
Now that piece of carp Code Snippets charges for CSS, and JS, leaving a very crippled free option. One of their sample snippets would not go away after deactivating it, even after using a different browser to ensure it was not the cache. Scary. The least they should do is to have a real working version to allow users to see what to expect in their particular websites before having to pay $$$$$ for snippets that will not go away after deactivating them. People will end up trying their competitors.

16:52 PHP code should not be placed inside JS. I am guessing the reason it worked is because CSP is ignoring all non JS code and running just the JS part. Also the quotes surrounding 9 are smart quotes and should be fixed to make them be normal (if/when using that code in PHP tab). 18:47 That is PHP code, not JS.

I heard that if you put a bad PHP snippet in, it could cause a site crash. The only way to recover is to go into the database and try and find the snippet and remove it. Is this true?
@@silentphil77 Hi Phil. I heard it was not after a save. It was after adding it to the site and then when you try and load the live site it happens. I guess I am going to have to get the free one, add some bad code and see what happens. I can take a snapshot of the site before I add it so that I can easily revert but I'm hoping that a plugin like this would enable some way of removing a faulty code snippet.

Hey Zoomi, I use Screenfliw to record with a big pointer in 4k and edit in Premiere and After Effects. You need a 4k screen (external) to record in 4K 😊

Filling the database with all this information is useless and harmful. The database gets heavier and the site gets slower and slower. Not to mention, if your WP installation gets corrupted for some reason, how do you get access to code that could be vital such as js or php? The database should never contain code but only texts useful for filling in the site's contents.
@@ferdycom Let's assume you're right on that point...but the fact remains that if the site gets corrupted you've lost all of your code. It's really not smart to save the code in the database.
I've been working with WP for over a decade, Insert Code/Insert Into Headers, and Code Snippets are the type of plugins I remove from sites, in favor of child themes with coded functions that do the same. Geniunely curious... What do you feel is the benefit of doing this over using a child theme to manage custom functions, CSS, etc? You'd have one less plugin (not using Code Snippets) and a child theme with the core basics, doesn't poise much of a performance or security concern.
Hey Dan, I like it that you can keep everything organized. You see an overview of all the snippets and can turn them on and off without having to go into the functions.php file.
I think there are no match benefits while using this plugin if you have elementor pro. Free version of this plug-in gives you access to PHP which is a huge advantage when you don’t have to make a child theme. Pro version CSS and HTML is easily done with elementor pro.

But in the future, I could see using the free version of Elementor for rapid design and the Pro version of Code Snippets for development. Coding from within the Wordpress backend is powerful.
So quick! I have a passing familiarity with HTML and CSS (Not PHP!) and I was able to quickly add my Square POS on-line ordering (takeout/pickup) website into our pending wordpress/woocommerce site. Other order-ahead plugins required a two or three step import process from Square to Plugin provider to new site and testing showed duplications despite universal use of SKUs. Now, I can easily control our revenue streams and drop teh expensive order plugins.
Get rid of all the bloat, visual builder spaghetti code, unused theme functions and abandoned plugins. Just learn to code in html, css, js and php and give the client a website that he really deserves
Most clients have no website experience and dont even know that they get Wordpress with a bought template sold as a website by a wordpresser. By the time the client needs serious support he finds out the hard way that the wordpresser is already gone selling a template somewhere else, forcing the client to contact a real coder.

Based on the title of this video, I expected a tutorial on how to create code snippets. This is actually just a copy/paste tutorial. 🙄
I heard that if you put a bad PHP snippet in, it could cause a site crash. The only way to recover is to go into the database and try and find the snippet and remove it. Is this true?
CodeSnippets will see that there is an error in the code and will not publish the code before it works 🎉

Yes, those are oart of the Pro version. A lot of themes also have custom css.
