I've dropped out of wrestling a bit over the last 6 months. I caught a glimpse of one of AEW's recent matches and I swear I was so confused for a few seconds wondering if Christian was now on WWE. Presentation wise with the LED Ring and Barricades.. They're presenting themselves just as WWE does. I'm not 100% certain but I think storyline wise WWE is doing pretty okay lately. AEW on the other hand has been relying on overused tropes and cornyness. The problem isn't that they're different, it's that they're not different enough. Basically AEW is quickly morphing into WWE and next to the real thing, it makes AEW look like a wannabe. WWE Lite, if you will. AEW is a highly produced, televised indie show. Because it gets so much exposure, the mistakes, sloppiness, lack of planning/writing is much more profound. They have some great former WWE talent, and they have talent with great potential. But what they don't have are stars in their prime -- either they are past their prime or they aren't experienced enough or they aren't all that famous because they have been working for years in relative obscurity. Now they are all on national cable television. But the criticism isn't unfair, it is just like an indie filmmaker getting nationwide distribution in theaters and there are audio issues, bad acting and amateurish looking shots. Some people will still love it for what it is, but a lot of people will go straight to Rotten Tomatoes. I love wrestling, but AEW really needs to get some better infrastructure and establish a better way of managing and executing what they do. Then try to sign away some hot talent by greatly out-bidding WWE (like WCW did with Kevin & Scott and a series of others).
How's that plan for the bloodline story going?? On your highly produced, televised indie show... Seeing as how the WWE is the only actual Independent wrestling promotion. As in they do not work with anyone else, and have no stories that connect with anyone else.
@TheHardys01 There are dozens (if not more) independent wrestling promotions. Working with other promotions or talent doesn't negate being an independent promotion. Independent means they dont work for the major company/studio/league. They are independent of the mainstream producer. AEW is an indie studio trying to look professional. WWE is Hollywood and are the mainstream. TNA is an indie. NWA is an indie. ROH used to be an indie, then were purchased so they exist in name only now - just like ECW before them. ROH is essentially AEW just like any ECW anything is actually WWE. Also, I have no idea what the Bloodline has to do with anything. WWE is as "indie" as Universal Studios or Sony Entertainment. So if you want to split hairs and call Disney an "indie studio" - have at it.
"AEW is a bad show at the moment and here's why" "Tony Khan is a bad booker and here's why" "I don't like the culture the company has" are examples of good criticism or good reasons to hate a wrestling company. The stuff that gets annoying is when you see the unhinged walls of text about clubhouses, Tiny Tony, gymnastics, and twinkletoes. Like, I don't watch the shows; I'm not a fan of AEW and I think the booking right now is atrocious. But you can tell pretty much instantly when someone just doesn't like the state of the company at the moment versus when someone just binged a bunch of Corny or went on Twitter and has to get through his list of references.
This argument would work, if TNA received the same kind of hate. People act like AEW is the first alt since WCW, completely neglecting TNA. I think AEW makes more mistakes, because they never show signs of learning from them. Plus they have a billionaires wallet.
My problem with AEW is way too many factions. Everytime I have watched, its like they are forcing too many talents to be in one segment etc. It genuinely feels like a mess to watch.
Sean's not wrong about people just liking to troll on the internet, but I honestly didn't notice any AEW Heat until "The Elite" Jumped CM Punk in the his locker room. In that case, AEW's heat was understandable.
The product isn't different, it sucks plain and simple. Tony is booking a wrestling show for a small niche audience of wrestling fans but what Tony can't seem to understand is there's not enough of those fans to compete with the WWE. Also I love when people like Sean Oliver cry and say people who don't like AEW and voice their opinions on it are assholes because they don't like what you like.
Its just that wwe has more fans. People shit post and talk trash about rivals in most sports. More fans grew up with the current wwe style and that's what they feel a bond to so they trashtalk the competition. Not much more than that going on
Sean is horrible. “Black jew?” Having to pretend for like two minutes he doesn’t know who’s the most optically different in that lineup? 😂 keep riding that fence.
Oh God Sean he’s trying to make a point. He said optically 2:49, “you’re all different.” Good job Sean, make sure everyone knows you don’t see black and white.
WWE is bigger and established. Triple H is giving us more of what we want. Moral backstage is better, and structured. These are the things that are not happening at AEW. They were the fresh brand, they are no longer fresh. They cannot rely on new debuts. They don’t grow. They might loose their TV deal.
I mean honestly I think it’s just the fact the people exhibit their worst behaviors online. The comment section is a cesspool that should have never been created.
Ok, I'm a big mjf fan, but for him to say what he said ? I think it's preposterous. It boils down to this, people who don't like aew is because of the product itself and how it represents itself and it's wrestler's. For one them comparing themselves quality to WWE and then saying that they are better puts out a huge bullseye target on their back, and as soon as they fall short they fall hard because people expected them to rise above the top and they didn't and or they couldn't. So they singlehandedly have appointed themselves to be this great rival company yet they have only been around for a short time and have a lot to accomplish to call themselves the top dog while they can barely keep their head above ground. They are doing the same dance TNA did when they rivalry against WWE and it lasted a near slump of 3 months and look at them now. They ended up tucking their tails in and hiding out for the later part of the twenty ten's (2010's). They aught to take a page from TNA's page book and learn a few things before they end up like them or worse.
The only issue I see with what he said is that he didn't mention any of the actual problems AEW are facing currently, which honestly I never expected him to do so. But what he said is also 100% true, not just now, but before AEW even started. I remember back in 2019 when the company hasn't even officially started yet there was already a lot of ill will and bad faith arguments, same in 2020 and 2021 when the company were arguably at their peak. Now, I do think that's par for the course and that a lot of time it's the trolls online that don't constitute the majority at all, but what he said is definitely true and has always been true even when the company was riding high.
Sure. Based on MJFs analogy thn TNA are the Mormons of pro wrestling, because of all the partners theyve changed and how much they have screwed their own product
I think the problem is AEW has not establish their own identity and keep trying to be the similar to different other companies, but I with Sean on this is that there is no point to bring up anti-Jewish hate when mentioning while certain people don't like AEW. The fact AEW has not grown, even though they are on national TV, and their attendance is getting lower and lower.
They can go on and on and on about e drones and fed ded and fed bad and so on, but as soon as they’re the ones getting heat cause WWE is white hot right now it’s “mass hate” lol
I don’t like what he’s doing. It reminds me of my ex, if anyone wouldn’t like him, he would immediately conclude “it’s because I’m gay” (yet same people never had an issue with me). When you make something like that (or religion, sexuality or gender) the core of your personality, it makes you seem incredibly shallow.
Two companies, one with 50 years experience, the other is a new company ran by the least experienced guy in the ENTIRE industry.... oh sorry I forgot he booked an e-fed when he was 13.

This company had so much credit and a grace period and now that is over. People don't have to keep liking the crap.
Its just that wwe has more fans. People shit post and talk trash about rivals in most sports. More fans grew up with the current wwe style and that's what they feel a bond to so they trashtalk the competition. Not much more than that going on
To make a comparison like that Max better have signed a fucking extension. Jesus that was embarrassing & I’m an MJF fan
Let's just support awe they took a risk and helping wrestlers make money let's support then instead of bashing them
Sean is horrible.
Too many to pick. You didn't mention...
Jake Roberts
Randy Savage
Stone Cold
Roddy Piper
Dr. David Schultz
Endless
AEW has too many cooks in the kitchen. It's really that simple.
They have one cook and he can't book a dinner
You should go Google too many cooks from adult swim. It'll make you laugh.
Ha.
MJF said there are good comments as well so if everyone isn't liking AEW, THEN it's a problem?
4.5 years ain’t new thing bruh. MJF is a Mark.
WWE is bigger and established. Triple H is giving us more of what we want. Moral backstage is better, and structured. These are the things that are not happening at AEW. They were the fresh brand, they are no longer fresh. They cannot rely on new debuts. They don’t grow. They might loose their TV deal.
Criticism of the Israeli military and US support of it is completely different from anti-semitism.
We need wcw back
I mean honestly I think it’s just the fact the people exhibit their worst behaviors online. The comment section is a cesspool that should have never been created.
It's WWE that has been boring to watch, but then again why even bother when there are 10x more idiots in the world with an opinion than smart ones
9. November 1970 Jericho
It does make people uncomfortable. Boredom is a type of uncomfortable, right?
Shawn had no clue he was trying to say a white guy and Jew are different than a brother ! And Sean says in a line up I’m picking booker 😮😮😮😅😅
It's even worse than hate. It's indifference.
The worst reaction is none
"A BLACK JEW?!"
Jesus christ sean its not rocket appliances. The big black dude with corn rows looks different than the big white dude and smaller white dude.
They can go on and on and on about e drones and fed ded and fed bad and so on, but as soon as they’re the ones getting heat cause WWE is white hot right now it’s “mass hate” lol
12000 views. The IWC ain’t as big as ppl think.
Most criticisms of aew are valid, same with jews. Leave it to a jew to try and blame criticism on anti semetism😂shameful
It’s amazing how much respect I’ve lost for MJF in just the past month.
Maybe there’s “ mass hate” because the product isn’t any good. It’s not more complicated than that
I don’t like what he’s doing. It reminds me of my ex, if anyone wouldn’t like him, he would immediately conclude “it’s because I’m gay” (yet same people never had an issue with me). When you make something like that (or religion, sexuality or gender) the core of your personality, it makes you seem incredibly shallow.
The fact that the product is confusing and sucks has nothing to do with his personal religion. Different can also mean worse
Oh boo-hoo the Jews have it sooo hard omg I’m literally crying oh they’re so oppressed wahhh wahhhh
Chris won't be offered anything and maybe fired from aew if everything turns out true
Two companies, one with 50 years experience, the other is a new company ran by the least experienced guy in the ENTIRE industry.... oh sorry I forgot he booked an e-fed when he was 13.
Aew probably would have succeeded but they wanted to poke the bear (wwe) and talk shit then play the victim right after. From that point on Twitter shit on all friends wrestling
too many trampoline wrestlers in aew, to many stupid movies that look fake.
2:49 I don't like disingenuous shit man. 😂
I think MJF is trying to court a woke audience "i'm being persecuted watch me" I guess if your desperate enough. Also 2 mins of sean OLIVER dominating another video, like dude, your the exact oppisite of Brian last, you think people are here for you, no one clicked on this video to hear you ramble on, when kevin opens his mouth you shut up.
lol agreed. I’m here to listen to Kevin, not Sean. I don’t mind his opinion sometimes, but he’s not as entertaining as Kevin’s low brow humor (or even Brian Last who can make legitimate points and be quite entertaining doing it, though in his case, ain’t nobody talking over Corny lol).
@@Vereid yeah, This isn't me putting Kevin over as Jesus Christ. A good pod cast host is suppose to give the talent the best chance to shine. Sure we all have our fan moments but the host here has to realize he's the enhancement talent here.
All these wrestling companies set themselves up for criticism because of the non or inconsistent story telling
Source is Solomonster interview. Solomonster has one of the best UA-cam wrestling channels.
Theses two tip toeing around this is funny
Mjf new move is the oy vey back breaker.
Comparing a wrestling company to a religion is too far. There are just some places you don’t go even in the world of professional wrestling.
Just saying... you do get black jews also..
Ordinarily I like MJF quite a bit, but lol this is so wide of the mark.
Happy belated Christmas
14k views only 200 likes people don’t agree with you Nash
I wouldnt say its mass hate but more that WWE is firing on all cylinders atm, but also has a lot to do with Tony Kkan come off like a douche atm too
Its the Dave Meltzer heat on AEW
I'd probably pick Booker T? Dude, come on lol. This dude sean has to wear a tiny hat.
No Sean. The reason is because the wrestling sucks. Not because its different. Thats silly.
I prefer the AEW Japanese style sorry I don’t like the cartoon style of wwe
it's true, because they are out of control, unprofessional, obsessed with wwe, and an Indy level mentality, hypocritical, they need to clean the company up.
