Bea's slaps always seemed much more convincing than every one elses. I think Val's facial expressions and gritted teeth when she's being a heavy really enhance her violent scenes. She's a fabulous actress.
Richard Sharp That would have been a great twist. Could you imagine the smug look on Vera's face in reception being brought in by Ted Douglas, while Joan would be wondering what to make of Vera with Meg and Colleen standing alongside Joan? Haha. 😄😃
I personally think these episodes- now until episode 400- are solid gold. such memory storylines and the tension between Bea and Ferguson is at an all time high. Nola McKenzie is such a good villain too.
It's interesting how many shows like this are at their best about 3 or 4 years in. Before that they're not quite sure how to make it work perfectly, and after that they start to get a bit lazy and complacent. We see that in the 1985 season with Prisoner, which gets a bit boring sometimes.
Wow, it seems there's nothing The Freak won't do to break Bea. Mrs Reynolds first appearance as the new Governor, loved the look on The Freaks face !!!
Alan Mclay Anne Reynolds is just what this story needs! With Fergie the Freak as the governor, there would not have been the ton of tension and titillating terror that is about to rain down on Wentworth as everybody starts turning against the new governor Ann Reynolds, while at the same time trying to defend themselves against Fearless Fergie the Freak, and ducking and dodging the Deadly Duo -- Po-face Powell and Meg "the good egg"! Beautyyyyyy! LOL
I realize many people have seen the series before...but I am really saddened by the fact that Davo was so unceremoniously dropped. I mean it wasn't like she was some guest star...she was a main character from day 1!!! Is there some behind the scenes reason why it happened this way? wow.
Amy Kjorlien Well, I have heard two stories on here and on the Prisoner fan page on Facebook. One of which was that Grundy Television (who made Prisoner and Neighbours) let Patsy King go due to money issues with her salary, or it was because of issues between Patsy and Val (Bea). Now I believe it was because of money issues, as Val recently said in a video on here celebrating 40 years of Prisoner, that she herself was let go from the series, due to a new producer, instead of feeling that her character had run out of steam, like she had said before in other television interviews. It's a shame as Grundy Television had done the same thing with Gerard Maguire (Jim Fletcher) and Fiona Spence (Vera Bennett) as well. Gerard did say at some public fan conventions that he was let go from the series, but Fiona I believe, still says that she left of her own accord.
That was the lowest trick yet, to use Moonbeam to relay 'Debbie's supposed 'messages' to Bea. Worse than any physical attack, messing with her head and what matters to her most in the world. I still don't get how ANYONE could be that evil...then I have to remind myself that this is just a TV show, lol.
zoe vincent Evil?! For Fearless Fergie the Freak....this is WAR! So there are NO RULES --- the only objective is complete victory and total annihilation of the enemy! To the victor.....the sweet spoils! So, there is no time to be squeamish! LOL
zoe vincent I agree, it is low, evil and sadistic, disgraceful even, Joan herself too, the mental abuse that she is making Zara Moonbeam do to Bea, even if it is only a television programme.
Madradin The department or whoever, didn't give the prison a lot of money for food etc, so the cooks, Mrs O'Reagan, Ray Proctor and Mervin Pringle had to make do with what they had to feed the inmates and the officers, which sometimes was bland, boring food.
My first go-round with pcbh. I don't know what kind of governor Anne Reynolds will be, but watching Meg& Colleen I think the two of them would have made a great team. Colleen as Governor and Meg as Deputy Governor . The ultimate twist would have been something that someone else already commented on :bringing back Vera as the governor of Wentworth. Now that would have a show.
Would love to know why the army knocked back Joan nice that the writers held back on giving too much away about the Freak. Very moving scene(and I don't mean the Taxi) from Maggie Kirkpatrick at the Taxi rank it shows she can match Val Lehman for convincingly conveying a wide range of emotions in one episode. Perfect casting for Beas nemesis . Cant understand why Bea did not suspect the Freak from the off for putting Moonbeam up to it. Reynolds looks damn hot and young in her first scene.
At a guess, because they discovered she was a lesbian. I think that, at the time, was sufficient cause for being drummed out of the armed services. I take it it's different nowadays.
Moonbeam summoned the Freak. I wonder if fergo's father would be proud of his daughter, if he knew the head games she played. He would have probably left her in that lab, he found her at.
Colleen Powell says at her interview waiting room to Meg ''I can't stay all day. I've left Joan Barfield in charge'' OMG Barfield is still on her sponsered silence !! She's lasted 364 episodes so far. That is so cruel to put her at risk of speaking to another screw or inmate.
+Chris.C LMAO! I can't imagine Mute Barfield being given any responsibility or worse yet, being left in charge. I mean, doesn't that job require vocabulary? :-)
Part of me hates feeling bad for Joan but I'm glad that I do because it reminds me that she's human, too. Extremely hurt by her father's lack of attention and approval. There's no telling how long this has gone on, at least not yet, but I take it that it must have started long ago. Long enough that its aided in how horrible she's been toward the prisoners and others. While she may not have been able to help what she went through as a child or in her much younger years, she's an adult and now responsible for how she treats people. She can choose help instead of remaining the victim and treating people like trash.
It's funny that Joan's mother was never mentioned. I mean, did she die, were they divorced or was she a real bitch and that's where Joan got it from? Her dad's nice.
0:59 Beas hair is longer and messier here. Could this be at a time when she'd just come back from her escape and before she got bash by Nola because Nola doesn't mention anything about the bashing before this. I've always noticed beas hair goes from short to long at the back very quickly? This might be a deleted exercise period scene added in from ep361????? 2.50 beas hair short again when she's sitting with Lainey on her bed.
I once had a friend who has been having a permatrip from bad acid. Hes been in that condition since like 2004. Its weird seeing Joan Ferguson having these daddy issues 😢.
Lizzie also appeared briefly at the end of mad max 1, she looseed a couple of barrels off from a 12 gauge shotgun at the bike gang who ran jessie down with the baby on the road.
There was a song which the Wehrmacht, and sometimes the Kriegsmarine, used to sing, called Erika. I think of Patsy King when I hear it: 🐝 "On the heath, there blooms a little flower and it's called Erika. Eagerly a hundred thousand little bees, swarm around Erika. For her heart is full of sweetness."
She's not wrong. I died for 4 minutes once and I swear I was floating in the corner of my room looking down at the paramedics working on me. Your soul never dies. Id have thought that it was all bullshit, but it honestly happened to me. AND they better NOT kill Bea off the show. That would be awful! :(
@@elainegoad9777not so true. There have been experiments done over the years where things have been placed up high and patients who have had an out of body experience have been able to identify them and also repeat conversations overheard in the theatre and also recount back what was happening.

Does Wentworth not have an HR department? They’re never informed one-on-one that they’ve been promoted, demoted or been unsuccessful in an application. They seem to just find out in front of everyone else 😂
What's with the sudden influx of paperwork for the governor to do? Erica usually just had one or two pieces of paper on her desk, and didn't have much to do, unless an officer burst in with some drama or another.
There is seemingly no end to Joan's sadistic, evil tactics and the fact she has gone to such great lengths to research Debbie's friends etc just proves she'll stop at absolutely nothing till she gets what she wants. Zara is quite convincing but I'm surprised Bea fell for it so quickly. Ann Reynolds is a surprising choice but the main thing is its not Joan who got it. It will be interesting to see if she turns out to be any better than Erica.
8ballpoolking1 Well, everyone knows that Bea's Achilles's heel is her dead drug-addicted daughter Debbie! Bea is just not able to reason about anything Debbie or drug-related. Remember, that Bea killed her husband --- her second murder ----- not because he was unfaithful to HER but because he let Debbie down when she needed someone! Plus, now Bea is very fragile --- she is no longer so enthusiastic about being and maintaining her position as top dog, she knows that due to her latest escape --- she will probably never be paroled --- and even if she does get paroled--- then what? She finds it hard to live in the "outside world"! So, this thing with Debbie is like a life-line -- something to live for --- maybe to find out who killed Debbie and make them pay. Bea can find a reason to fight and live for revenge for Debbie --- whereas she does not really seem to be very interested in making a life for herself --- in prison or out of prison! Of course, we will just have to wait and see where all of this goes........
Shirley Marie Bradby Those are valid points you made there Shirley. I guess where it all went wrong was when Bea's husband started being unfaithful, which was obviously what prompted Bea to commit murder in the first place. After that she was no longer in control of being a mum to Debbie and the rest is history. But you're right, those events have mapped out Bea's destiny and the person she has become. In addition to all that, she has been through a lot with her own health too, what with the stabbing, amnesia and kidney malfunction among other things. She also knows that now Joan is there its harder to be as dominant over the women because she can be a thorn in Bea's side at any given moment or whenever the mood takes her. Anyone can only stand up to so much, she is just human after all.
Unsurprising Meg never got the job. She is to boring 💤 and dull to command the role. Gerda Nicolson may and sadly does have her grey moments like her tedious relationship with Wally and her nasty daughter but she is vastly greater than her antique predecessor 😃
It looks like Major Ferguson hurt Joan's feelings, he talked about everyone but her. All he would have had to do is talk about how she was as a child. Something like "Joan was such a sweet little girl, she was always trying to help her mum and I Do you remember the time etc- " Was the movie they saw Close Encounters Of The Third Kind? Poor little fellow. And HERE she is! Welcome to Wentworth Ann.
I also watch GOT and I HATE Cersei Lannister. I shake my head any time fans say they hope she gets revenge for things like the walk of shame, considering she's put others through much worse. I get where they're coming from when I watch Joan. She's in the middle of one of her most vile ideas right now and yet I felt terrible for her when she was talking to her father. Not many characters can provoke that from me while doing horrible things.

I would like to ask you a few questions about that (dying for four minutes). But not in public unless you say so. My friend just died and I'd like to hear your whole story....but my other question to you is what episode are you up to?
Geez how damn long does an acid trip last? I've never touched illegal drugs (not even pot) but I didn't think a trip would last that long unless she used up the whole card.
Heather Snodgrass It usually lasts 12 hours, sometimes more, depending on the person, the amount taken, etc. I find it strange when people say pot is illegal because it's legal where I'm at. You can just walk into a store and buy it just like alcohol.
Bea's slaps always seemed much more convincing than every one elses. I think Val's facial expressions and gritted teeth when she's being a heavy really enhance her violent scenes. She's a fabulous actress.

Breazie She must have done a lot of digging to find Debbie's school friend Kerry Jacobs, and any of her letters and snippets of information.
Anne Reynolds, New era for PCBH
+Chris.C Interesting I always see the Top Dog as the era
wild 72 I felt that PCBH had 2 eras. One with Erica Davidson , then with Anne Reynolds !!
+Chris.C maybe I just have more of a criminal mind looking at it from the Prisoners perspective then the staff. lol
+Chris.C and Erica was best
+Chris.C I really liked Ann!
and the Reyno era begins
Bea can tell that's zara voice crazy storyline
I would like to ask you a few questions about that (dying for four minutes). But not in public unless you say so. My friend just died and I'd like to hear your whole story....but my other question to you is what episode are you up to?
Meg is so beautiful‼️ Her dimples are adorable
Yes I agree. Erica’s too
That is EXACTLY why I refused to do acid. Even when it was offered for free. Id end up just like Lainie. Scary!!!!
As if Bea would fall for that she's not Judy
It’s her only vulnerability
Geez how damn long does an acid trip last? I've never touched illegal drugs (not even pot) but I didn't think a trip would last that long unless she used up the whole card.
Heather Snodgrass It usually lasts 12 hours, sometimes more, depending on the person, the amount taken, etc. I find it strange when people say pot is illegal because it's legal where I'm at. You can just walk into a store and buy it just like alcohol.
10-18 hrs
3days windowpane acid
Should been Vera she would of sort the freak out
The acid could have been mixed with angel dust.
Come on Bea even I wouldn't fall for this ok there is life after death but this is ott
Life after death 🤔🤔🤣😂
