I love all the tracks because of their versatility. In the Rain and Howling are my favorites. 🔥As much as we all love the original "Woke up" XG always pays homage to old school hiphop, the remix was done by famous OG Japanese and Korean rappers, and for them to notice XG and do the remix is an honor. 👽🐺🎶
So about the remix, personally I think it should have been called "Cypher" and at the end of the album. I do prefer the original as well lol. My take on why it was included in the mini-album. Woke up was already a released single so couldn't be added into though I don't think they knew how viral it was going to get. It was to the point that other well established rappers (think 10+ years in the industry) wanted to hop on the beat somewhat similar to XG with their tapes. If anything else, it's a big homage to hip hop, Japan & Korean joining in unison, and to celebrate what XG is doing. I've only heard of Awich & Jay Park prior though not deep into their music but doing research on everyone else like the pedigree they have is honestly insane. To me, it makes me happy that XG is being praised by them and the future they are going to bring.
I wish more fans recognized the significance of that remix. From the reactions and comments, I've seen, it seems Asian fans understand it, while American fans do not. Although I'm from the US and wasn't familiar with those artists, I knew it as a big deal and a real honor for XG to have OG rappers and hiphop artist welcome them into their club. I've become a fan of Awich; love her vibe - just my take on it, no hate to anyone
The reason why they put the Tokyo Drift jingle in there is because VERBAL is a member of the Teriyaki Boyz, which made the song Tokyo Drift for the movie. VERBAL is OG Japanese rapper.
Woke up remix may be out of place on the album but I see it as a "tribute" for the girls? or more so the girls being recognized by some of the top hip-hop artist in Korea and Japan. and Woke Up is a single of theirs so they can't put it on the mini album :) does it make sense or no? 😂

Would definitely say Woke Up and Howling are at the top for me but Undefeated and GRL GVNG are following close behind .. and the Winter Without You First Take would round out my top 5 .. hard to narrow it down cuz they have so many great songs
The woke up remix is so out of place in this album as girls are not even on it. I wonder now if people who participated in remix will get paid from the album selling. Though it is cool as a stand-alone cover, it should not be on this album, in my opinion. I understand how big deal it is that yhese amazing artist wanted to hop on the beat and do thrir version on it, It could have been a cool edition to maybe a remix album that you can get with the songs girls covered like the tapes they have done. Or it should be at the end of the album as a surprice extra track. Otherwhise I really love the album. ❤

Verbal is a member m-flo, IYKYK is sampled from their 2001 song Prism, m-flo's record label is under Avex, same as XGLAX
