I and a friend have walked from Diablo to Albrook. It's a bit lonely but many buildings are well preserved. I happened to be interested in a bit of history as a student.
Really interesting photos - I live beside a US Air National Guard Transit Base in New Zealand, so I see a few of you yanks from time to time. It's amazing how the U.S. still has a significant presence in many countries around the world - I think it's great
We used to hang out with some 3/5 guys at the Ovalo and go fishing with them for peacock bass at Gatun. There's some 3/5 guys in the photos on the 24th SPS page and Howard AFB page on Facebook.
I was there twice as an SP K-9 patrol officer (81152-A). I got caught up in up in Operation Just Cause and stuck at Omar Torrijos Airport.... Long Live The 80's!!!! Do you remember a female K-9 officer named Audra Bowen?
My god this took me back stationed at corazol in the army usaisc. Thank you and was these your photos do you have more. Loved rio mar so much. Right up the road from the infamous ancon inn was another compound called the elranco had an up stairs bar called Delilah’s just a regular club no nuddy girls. Would you happen to have memories or photos?
There is a 24th SPS facebook page with lots of photos of the bases, Panama, J Street and lots of other stuff. Most USAF security police but some good photos. Theres also a Howard AFB page. I was there from 82-84 and took a lot of photos.
Those are my three photos from 4:36-4:43. It's a shame that I let some crappy scans loose on the net. I was trying to keep my website dial-up friendly! I have much better scans of my old Panama pics now. If anyone wants to use any of my photos, feel free. A credit would be nice though.
A lot of these photos are on the 24th SPS facebook page and the Howard AFB group and are tagged there. Most are B flight photos, you were on C flight. I remember you well.
Who is this? Must be someone I know. This is Great! Brings back memories of my tour at Howard (1981-1985). To bad the photos are not tagged. I can't remember every ones name. I'm 1:30 in, group photo at the armory, far right.
I was in the Navy and in 1993 my crew went on a DET from Puerto Rico to Panama. We lived in these rows of corrugated shacks that we referred to as "Shit Shacks". They were numbered and basically right on the side of the canal east of the bridge somewhere. If I remember correctly, we took a bed sheet and spray painted "Welcome to shit shack #269" on it and hung it up inside so that when the next crew from my squadron got there - that would be the first thing they see. The shack was unsat - lizards running up & down the inside walls, beds right next to each other like boot camp. Then you had to walk all the way down to the other end to take a community shower. This was back when you could easily sneak a prostitute on base & have her perform for the enlisted crew in the shack. She known by the name Bianca. Cheers!
Hola tengo rato de andar buscando a mi padre, me indican que era de la fuerza area de los estados unidos en panama para los años de 1983- 1985 alguien me podria ayudar se los agradeceria de todo corazon.

I was a "Moatengator" Aco. 3/5 at Kobbe 83-85. Loved Panama. Sporting man's paradise.

I don't recall an Audra. But there is a 24th SPS page on Facebook and a Howard AFB one. Lots of photos on both and someone should know her.

Jeff, I was the one that took that photo...
And thank you Mark Peterson for taking that photo. Found that also on the net and used it to fill a spot in the video.
I was on B Flight Law Enforcement 82-84.
I have more pictures there from the early 80's if you ever want to update this.
You could add them to the Howard AFB and 24th SPS pages on Facebook also. Would be a lot of people would like to see some photos from the 80's.
Make me sick how cz looks now sad !!

I would ask your question on the Facebook groups for Howard AFB.
Vivian como reyes aqui alla se moririan de hambre con ese sueldo de soldado o policia
The Church of ft kobbe was destroyed a month ago
Thats so sad.
@@randyransio7870 Thats nice and racist. Almost Twenty five years later and you're still crying about what your own people did to you.

Soooo, nothing happens for almost the entire video..? 🤔
What did you expect? A dance party? it's photos of the Air Force in Panama in the early 80's. You should probably go back to Buzz Feed.
