I so appreciate how you guys move things along in your videos. None of that “let me tell you what I’m going to tell you “or “let me sum up what I just told you” junk.
Yes! It’s concise but everything you need. Many other channels often ramble for 15min and repeatedly use the same buzzwords. It’s actually a lot less helpful even though they’re typically longer videos. These guys are great!
I agree. The other reviewers probably only played the game once in a rush and you can tell. They don't have much to say. Here we get lot of info and it's not just a purely positive Marketing sale like some reviewers seem to do. Thanks for being better, guys.
You definetely have the best board game review format out there! Plus, you are both great presenters. You are going to get far with this channel! Also, looks like a nice game. Someday....maybe.....
I will never forgive UA-cam for waiting this long to recommend me your channel. I follow all the big board game Contant creators and you guys definitely deserve 10 X views. Subbed and will watch all your videos.
Good review guys! I am a massive fan of Nemesis myself, it is definitely very much for me. I also pledged for Nemesis Lockdown as well and can't wait for it to arrive.
Ohh, Nemesis (my favorite narative game). Just have to add anotheer mayor plus that also rebbatle rules overhead issue. In Nemesis, you can really quickly get to playing, just teach basic concepts, victory conditions and possible actions and voila, can start the game while teach all the rooms, contamination, cogs, and fire when it happens on the go. I have tried it with a person that this was a major jump into modern games and it went brilliant. Great review!
I always found the "dying to quickly player elimination" negative for any game to be abit silly. Like if it's such a hinderance, well ...just dont die? Like if i drew a card that said i got thrown out of the airlock and died, my group would just agree that that's abit unfair and redraw another card. I know it isnt always as easy as that but by house ruling u can avoid a lot of it.
Guys what do you think, nemesis vs lockdown? I'm gonna buy one this week but I'm not sure which one. My group are not very hardcore boardgames but enjoy the hobbie
We're actually planning to play Lockdown next week for the first time. But as far as we know they are very similar with Lockdown having few improvements. So right now we'd say go for that one.
Omg I recently played the "Alien: fate of the Nostromo" board game and this looks like it's been inspired by that except with tons of other stuff added in! :D it looks really cool.
Hey! We don't always sleeve our games. Just the ones we think will see the most usage. And there are no particular sleeves just the ones available in the local store /JT
One challenge with these random storytelling games (like dead of winter, mansions of madness, betrayal at house on the hill) is that, yeah, you might have a cool emergent story develop just from the game mechanisms, but you might also waste an hour or more (!) of everybodies time in a game, where everybody will obviously lose or there is nothing to prevent one player from winning. I'd be curious if that is the case here. That with the game element of eliminating players, who then have the priviledge of sitting around waiting for others, is a huge issue for many gaming groups, at least for the one's I know. "It's not for everybody" is a truism that doesn't quite grasp issues like these and doesn't help much in helping people make informed decisions. Still like the channel though. ;-P
That's not the case in Nemesis. You don't know if you'll win or lose until you actually get out with an escape pod or get into the cryo chamber, and even then you have to check some conditions to actually win. The only thing is player elimination, but one person could play the aliens (making it a lot harder for the surviving players though, or just give them a new character if it happens too early). But dying early only happened in one of my games so far, usually it's always near the end, specially if you already have knowledge of some of the things that might instantly kill you so they are more easily avoidable.
I don't get the hype for this game. Slime rules are unnecessary, quiet walking for 2 actions isn't good enough because you still have to place a noise marker. Infections are stupid because you either loose randomly in the end, or you have to scan the infections in a given room (takes time) and THEN feel the effects of the infection. Also, when you fight aliens, you don't have to roll over "x" to land a hit, you have to draw a card and roll over that number.... useless complexity! Crafting isn't worth messing with... and the game is slow. You don't get anywhere soon and you have to wait for the other players way too long. This game felt like work to me, i don't take it personally, but this gives you zero reward for anything, everything is slow, pricey and punishes you. NO fun. edit: i hate it that most rooms are broken and need repairing for their function. This crappy rule usually costs an additional turn, but in a predictable way, thus slowing the game down unnecessarily. I guess you could homebrew many rules and make this a fun game. If you stick to the official rules, it's pretty crappy.

Thanks! We try to improve our content all the time and this really helps us feel that we're going into the right direction! Makes us happy :)

You guys are the absolute best board game channel for getting a feel for what the game is about. Production quality is also stellar!
Thanks Kyle! We appreciate it!
I agree 💯

Hey! Look on the bright side, there now is so much content to watch ;) And of course, welcome aboard!
Semi-cooperative is a favorite format. It transforms friends into frenemies! Gamers that take it personally don’t deserve to be my friends ;)
Good review guys! I am a massive fan of Nemesis myself, it is definitely very much for me.

Thanks! We're super excited to get our hands on Lockdown as well

Great review!
Really good review guys!
Thanks! This is a fun review to watch!
Love your reviews!
Awesome to hear that!
Brings back so many good memories and bad ones as well :D I actually really wanna play again now.
Same for us! Let's go again!

@@BoardGameHangover any update since you played it? Would love to see a comparison video!
@@BoardGameHangover please do a video to compare with nemesis lockdown!
Tell us what game is better for you. Lockdown or oryginal nemesis?@@BoardGameHangover
Still waiting on that Lockdown review. Lol

They both have the same thematic influence Alien movie. But when you put it that way, sure ;)
I snagged a Nostromo copy for 6.00. It was a good filler. This one seems like a Turbo version. I hope it plays good solo cause that's my main style
You don't have to run faster than the Xenomorph, just faster than your mate.
Truth
Just stumbled into your channel, it’s fucking awesome. Ty for the great review.
Awesome to hear that!
I’ve notice you guys sleeve all your cards?? What kind of sleeveless do you use? Anything in particular?

@@bassmeo3937 Cool, that's good to know. Thanks!
Well, christmas is coming up
Looks so amazing and i neeeed iiiiit!
Too bad it's like 200 dollars in my country :') So gotta start saving from now xd
It's a big investment, but well worth it if you can get it to the table
Jänis G., have you tried Nemesis Lockdown already?
No still haven't had a chance to test it out, but we did test using new alien type with the original game which was a great experience
@@BoardGameHangover I need to try those green aliens too.
Finally some ameritrash! Looks really cool. Looking forward to play that one.
Ha ha. Yeah, this one is pretty cool! :D
Great review guys. One minor thematic nitpick, the noise is coming from machinery and/or aliens in the corridors, not the players.
That's true! Thanks for the clarification :)
Amazing game. I could suggest a few more alternatives : Battlestar Galactica, Dead of Winter.
Great alternatives! Thanks!
