I used the first method in your video and it worked wonders. Really appreciate this video, it saved me lots of resources (I used to build stone walls or place stone statues which cost so much time and stone)
Personally I plant a ring of trees and then put fossil fragments inbetween those. I think the video methods are awsome if you can’t be stuffed collecting fossil fragments and all are less resource intensive than using statues
@@TheRealTrigan Fossil fragments aren't that hard to collect, however the reason I generally prefer fire methods over majority of other methods is that other methods heavily rely on blocking the passage to the moonbase like I said in the video, and for that reason they all share one weakness: If even one monster gets past, it's pretty much GG and you have to do it again. I have no disrespect towards people that use those methods, don't get me wrong. It's just that I don't like them that much.
Just one thing to keep in mind: If you're using controlled fire perk methods 1 and 2 don't work since fire won't spread and you'll need to use fireball instead. Different timing is required, however it can work if done right.
Unless you're going for fast setup, I highly recommend method #3 a.k.a stone walls & 2 trees since you only need to place walls once and it's very easy to replace burnt trees for next time! There is a slim chance that your trees will get petrified but it rarely happens so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Anyhow thank you for watching and for feedback, I appreciate it!
Awesome, the first method barely worked, maybe I misplaced one on the trees. The altar actually got destroyed just as it ended so I thought I had failed, but I was so happy it didnt
The key is to plant first circle of trees as close to moonbase as possible, and then continue to plant the rest of the pinecones around that circle. In seasons other than spring, you want to light inner trees as soon as event starts and you will most likely win. In spring you want to light inner trees as soon as it turns night. Hopefully it helped you understand a bit better.
@@renem.9061 Wooden walls take fire damage which means that if you used wooden walls only, they would drop to 0 hit points quickly meaning they would no longer block path to the moonstone from other sides, increasing chances for mobs to destroy the event.
Fun stuff but not ideal. I'd rather use 12 dioganal walls and a structure (ruins chair) if im in a hurry. If im in a long world I'll just make 6 pig houses as this will bug out the event and it will complete itself while unloaded.
The point of this video was to showcase unique strategies to defend the moon stone event. While none of them are ideal considering there is always a weakness of sort, I didn't see anyone use strategies similar to these ones, as most strategies aim to block the passage to the event or like you said "bug it out". It's all about a personal preference in the end so if you don't like these methods it's alright. There are plenty of other methods anyway :D
Tell me you main Willow without telling me you main Willow

@@moat_n_coat ohhhh yeah right I did take note of that point in the video. That makes sense. You made a Very cool solution

how convenient, i'm even playing as willow

Great tutorial, surely i'll use these methods, i like that they dont use fossils and they seem more reliable than those other methods

What happens if you enclose the moonstone with wooden walls and set them on fire?
