@@johnkramer7018 hey John, yes I am German. "Garde" means "Guard" in German and "Tanz" means "Dance". A group of soldiers so to speak. Hence the uniforms most dance groups wear and the marching type of music. German carnival is basically about mocking the peers and the army. That's why many people dress up in military style. The carnival season here starts on November 11 on 11:11 o' clock and ends with ash wednesday, the start of "lent". The days prior to ash wednesday are considered the most wildest and turbulent carnival days. Such as "Weiberfastnacht", "Rosenmontag/Rose monday" and "Faschingsdienstag/Shrove Tuesday. We call it the "5th season" over here. You will find plenty of parties, festivities and carnival parades going on. Sadly everything has been cancelled again due to the pandemic. :(
