The ones who portray him in a negative light sometimes (I'm not going to go into if it's right or wrong, that's anyone's personal opinion) are international KPOP media. In Korea he's very well respected & a household name with any generation & it's not up for discussion. Was the CEO of the biggest & trendiest hiphop/rnb labels (two of them even). Got several mega hit songs. Overall known for his genuine personality as someone that looks out for a lot of people & hustles like no one else. This is more or less the consensus in SK. But internationally he had a take on cultural appropriation that a lot of people disagree with. At the same time, many don't care either, t's not really black or white but it's a sensitive topic, mostly in the US & one could argue Jay should have known better. Personally I think it's completely fine to dislike his takes but I think it goes overboard when people try to portray him as an evil person. He clearly isn't (to me...but come on). It's hard for me to take those accusations seriously when he had like two disagreeable takes but he has a decade worth of legitimately great actions as a person (the list is very long). This is just my opinion though, each to their own.

I think the ones that did very well were the ones who kinda toned down their inner fan, and went into the conversation on a more human level rather than an idolized level. We all love praise, but Jay strikes me as the type at this point of his life to be the type searching for more human interactions and normalization in his day to day.
