You can tell this is one of the very, very few bands, where everyone in the group knows EXACTLY what kind of music they are making and pour literally passion out. Always on the same page. And haven’t changed not one bit. Song Aglæca actually helped me get over the passing of my pops not too long ago (granted it’s HP love craft inspired and not the same situation dealt with, but going face to face with demons aspect out of depression) but this band truly is therapeutic. Even on deployments you guys were always there. Much love -just a random dude

It shows me that I’m not who I used to be, that I’m mentally and emotionally stronger since then. I’m beyond excited for this new album. They’re past albums (and singles) have been incredible especially Claustrophobic with Alex taking over vocals entirely. I definitely couldn’t be more proud to hear they’re finally releasing new material.
This song has been one of my favs since “The Devil Exists” came out. I hadn’t seen the MV and i really appreciate how this version is a lot more raw; less effects on the vocal production, making it sound more “human”. However the over-production on the album version makes it sound heavier and a lot more demonic. Those pitch shifts on the screams add such a haunting aura to everything that is unlike anything else I’ve ever heard and to me it adds a lot more emotional depth to the song as a whole. The little pause in the instrumental in the second half of the second chorus, for example, is so smart cuz it highlights the “may i have” lyric and the way its delivered in a way that this version doesn’t. Anyways, Ik this is kinda nerdy but for real this song has connected with me in a way that no song had for a while. It’s a masterpiece.

Because it isnt a real drum kit. You can hear that every single hit is 100 percent the same. Its samples. Not a live person. Sure someone could try to play this but it wont sound like this, humans hit each hit slightly varied because we arent robots. This is what happens when you use something like easy drummer and dont turn your velocities down. Real drum kits havent been being used for quite a while now in this scene. Reference : i produce music and have worked with the producer they went to for this video, he uses drum samples.
Not knocking the song. Its great. But same issue that oceans ate Alaska has is prevalent here. They aren't automating their drum velocities, so it feels robotic and too clean. Its snapped 100 percent to the grid. Real people dont sound anything like this, and even live drum samples are still grid tracked and edited, meaning they are no longer what they originally were. Its whats prefered in this genre, because it makes a tight production. Check out any live version of a song, it will sound sloppier because of this editing reason in studio mix and master sessions.
