- A JOURNEY THROUGH TIME ON THE OLD MIDLAND RAILWAY LINE FROM BRISTOL TEMPLE MEADS TO MANGOTSFIELD. THE LINE CLOSED IN 1970 AND IS NOW PART OF THE BRISTOL TO BATH CYCLEWAY.
Thank you 😊. The old days ( and ways ) were so much better 🚂
Hello Sue. I totally agree! Regards Dave.
My home turf. Thanks for posting and reviving memories.
And mine. Regards Dave.
Such nostalgia for me! I lived in Fishponds as a boy 70 years ago, and went by train to Temple Meads most Saturdays, a train spotter's heaven! In the school holidays I cycled to Barrow Road and Dr Days bridge to catch sight of engines at 22A. Happy Days! Thank you so much for sharing .
Thank you. Really glad for the feedback. Regards, Dave
Thanks for showing all those pictures, being an Ex BR Shunter and Filton boy, much appreciated.
Glad you enjoyed them. Regards Dave.
Excellent views of old Brissel railways
Hello Nigel. Glad you enjoyed the pictures. Regards, Dave.
I graduated from riding my bike up the incline at Spam to the more adventurous battle of whits with the railway coppers at Barrow road. They used to smear the bridge parapet with grease and filth to deter us, but we took old coats and blankets to cover the muck! What you did to get up close to a 9F eh!!!
Very interesting 👍🏻 Shame most of it has gone 😩
Thanks. Gone but not forgotten. Regards Dave.
Interesting to see the Roundel totem signs in the Midland shed at Temple Meads. Some believe they were only in the Western side.
