Underrated guitarist. And one of the most underrated bands I've heard. I don't think any of my friends have even heard this band. People either love the Kooks or they've never heard of them.
I miss the old Kooks, they changed so much but they still Good nowadays, but damn, 2006 to 2008 was great cause the Originals made the band great, i hope someday they would reunite the Originals just for a song or hopefully for a concert 💔
I got Into the Kooks around the same time that I got into the Arctic Monkeys and funny enough both their albums were released on the same day. Man both those albums are fucking masterpieces, and I always held these two bands as the best at the moment and was always interested to see if they ever had any interactions. And it turns out that they weren't too pleasant. Apparently once, Alex Turner was at a Kooks show and went up to the front of the audience and tried to mess around with Pritchards guitar medal, Pritchard allegedly says he had hit Alex in the face with his boot and that was their first encounter. So I kinda began to pen them as artistic rivals like Oasis and blur or Beatles and stones. But after the artic monkeys began to release masterpiece after masterpiece, and the kooks seemed to re align and leave their bassist Max and Drummer Paul, I must admit that though they were once formidable foes, the Kooks have lost this one
Paul Garred possessed such charisma on drums. Punchy chops as he sang while playing. Max Rafferty offered such cool fills and fitting harmonies in between of Luke and Hugh. Maybe it's because they were so young then, the energy here is incredible. Tempo on point, tone-wise amazing (Luke's Maton acoustic and Steelcaster guitar doing wonders). Hugh was and still is such an incredible gutiarist. Very inventive with his style of play. Unfortunately, this is just not what The Kooks are anymore. I love them so much but that's the reality. Luke struggles a lot on the vocal parts even with the new stuff. I wish they added more free jams like they did here. The quick intro bit to Naive is so nice. Sound-wise is not that great too after seeing them live a few times. Its not entirely bad, it is just such a departure from where they were I always thought they'd reach greater heights. I guess this set is the greatest reminder to me of The Kooks. So thank you for this.
Will always be one of my fav bands. Really been digging into them again lately. I hope to see Max’s solo stuff back up online again. Anyone know where those few other songs on Spotify from a couple years ago disappeared to?? So many good memories of these songs… Thankyou to The Kooks ❤️
Do you want to go to the seaside? I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go I fell in love at the seaside I handled my charm with time and slight of hand Do you want to go to the seaside? I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go I fell in love at the seaside She handled her charm with time and slight of hand and, oh But I'm just trying to love you In any kind of way But I find it hard to love you girl When you're far away Away Do you want to go to the seaside? Hugh Harris is one of the most underrated guitar players of the last decade
YES !!
Hugh is a ripper! Wholeheartedly agree on his musicianship.
look's like that Danny from Mcfly. The dude who was a judge on the Voice a couple yrs ago
Wouldn’t go that far..
His backing Vox are quality too
To think Hugh Harris is only 19 years old here is pretty insane. Such tasteful fills and lead work!

@@ibagusuk3295 i saw this and im so confused now
Insade in/Insade out and WPSIATWIN are the best albums of both. Each song from each album can be a single.
Same I love them both but The Artics are my favorite band and the Kooks are number 2 in my book.
Still top 2 ain't bad.
One of the most underrated bands of our time.
Unbelievably Overrated, set of cunts

I think 2007 was a great year for their career.
If their Leeds set list has half of the songs they played here I'll be happy
12 out of 14 songs from Inside In/Inside Out. Fucking would've loved to have been there for that! Great performance, pretty shit crowd though.
7 YEARS AGO! DAMN im old.

They also need their old drummer back :/
Max was the soul of the kooks!
Yes! THE DRUMMER IS AWESOME! You dont see such rock n roll on kooks anymore
Thanks so much for uploading the whole concert! :) I love The Kooks!!

This band and monkeys same era both are greats
His voice reminds me of Mick Jagger, Robert Smith and Roland Orzabal at the same time. I don't know why.😂
Hes definently influenced Jagger

Before we all had to be plastered with tattoos to be relevant. I like tattoos I have some. But now it’s a little cliche and over played
