This would have been a really nice recording to have when I played it a couple years ago :P Thank you for a great recording of one of the greatest Etudes around :)
Oh well, I really hope it is of some use. I think I play it slower than most other people, but I never knew it until I looked at it and recorded it. I heard other versions after that. This study is not well known or played at all here in the UK.. Good luck! I played a Yamaha Chicago C the other week and it was fantastic!
you're correct. anything using the Bb's third valve is going to be a little off. C trumpets have their own weird things too, but I find the C trumpet easier to tune overall. Also it's typically a larger bore so it gives a more natural sound for this piece!
You are not only tested on their warm-ups and typical exercises, but you get a technical piece and a lyrical piece and then are judged on your visual capabilities. So yes, that is "all it takes".
This was done really well. I'm playing this on Bb currently for my professor, It's sounds like the higher notes are a little less pitchy on C, is that right?
I really love how you played it.

@Jiffy13 Easy. Try it on the trumpet if you play the tuba!
@Agassi2096 Thank you!

@jejazz13 Thank you
@leou11 Is that really all it takes to audition? hm..
Maybe one of the lyrical pieces. Gotta be a visual stud at the same time
Your first note ( G I think it is) is kinda harsh. Otherwise, beautiful!!
Hard Mode : Play it on tuba
Haha..step up
