Sunday is the best day, we get to watch the latest video from Scotland on a Shoestring. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. Woohoo…zoom zoom zoom DeNiro ❤
Glad you folks had a nice clear day for filming. Enjoyed all the interesting places visited and shared. That is some beach, cold water and the waves looked fairly decent. Nice charity shops too. Hope you seriously considered buying the very cool vintage radio!
Gorgeous views! What a place 😍 Great church yards and castles too 😀Midgies are just here to annoy us - we've actually had a lack of them here this year for once!
Wonderful episode, Iain. 🥰🥰Your videos always leave me with a longing to follow in your footsteps. 😔 I'm particularly happy that you have a drone, and can get the panoramic shots from above. Finding that big arrow was a treat. 😮😁 I would love to be able to buy and restore a castle to live in. 😲 That's obviously a pipe dream, eh? 😂 Considering what's happened to real estate values around the world, I consider myself fortunate to have an affordable roof over my head! 😮😬😮💨 Big hugs to you-all. 🤗 See you next time. 😍🤩😘👍👍👌👋
Just lovely... DeNiro is certainly well traveled.. Looking forward to the video of the graveyard. If possible to link in description if up would be great at times Still fighting YT over notifications. Enjoy your week and the extended warm temperatures....
There is a very nice beach right at the bottom of Kintyre and you can overnight in the little car park! Lots of wildlife on the rocks inc. otters and lots of seals waving! Thanks for taking us along! Ju 😁
@@scotlandonashoestring We loved it down there! There's also a footprint or something... St. Columba's footprint, Holy Well and a chapel!... ///conforms.stew.nation The beach and car park...///wanting.bedroom.neckline
Another great video! We had wanted to drive all the way down to Campbeltown (especially since we are Campbells) but decided to just spend the afternoon strolling around Tarbert before heading back to our AirBnB in Crarae Furnace. We enjoyed seeing Tarbert again in your video! Great photo of the boats, even with your phone!
What a very beautiful video! Very wonderful work, showing us terrific castles and harbors. On the midges, you were echoing a quote from the Lord of the rings - What do they eat when they can’t get hobbit? You, I guess. Take care and stay uneaten. I will certainly go over and enjoy Places for the Past as well.
I love that Bets wears dresses while exploring in Scotland, unlike the US women who seem obsessed with jeans. Dresses - YAY. I love to wear them too, even in the US. Also, DeNiro's ears are adorable.
I'm going to be pedantic and say that the Mull of Kintyre is just the bottom west corner of the Kintyre Peninsula. It's a long and winding road down to a lighthouse, from where you can see Northern Ireland, a few miles across the sea. Paul McCartney and Wings filmed the video for Mull of Kintyre at Saddell Bay, on the east coast of the peninsula, a few miles north of Campeltown. It's a lovely place for a walk if you are down that way again, with lots of Viking heritage and more ancient graveslabs at Saddell Abbey.
Hahahaha. I was hoping no one would notice that :) I worked a lot up the top end a lot of years ago and it took all my brainpower not to keep calling it the Knapdale peninsula. We ran out of time this trip to make it all the way, definitely be going back.
Ferry terminal in Campbeltown was Ardrossan to Campbeltown... And there used to be Campbeltown to Ballycastle.......... Hopefully Ardrossan to Campbeltown back on next year.........

It’s always nice to see a good church and castle ruin. Have a great week. ❤
And you!

Alas the radio wasn’t for sale, or I would have :)
I’m off to Scotland tomorrow 😁 near Dumfries 😁 I love the Scottish scenery 😁
Ooh, cracking part of the world.
@@scotlandonashoestring yes 😁
Loved this as usual , thank you .
Thanks for watching
My mum always said they bred the midgies with spurs on.
These ones have power tools I think.
Nice to see DeNiro get his zoomies, and beautiful castles as well.
Thank you for bringing us along.
Glad you enjoyed it

That suit was brilliant (seriously). I’d definitely wear that.
“What the flip were they eating?” Lol😂😂😂
The Latrine chute was huge…

My Uncle was part of a bomber crew . He never spoke about their missions . He survived Pearl Harbor then went on to UK. Brave valiant men bless them.
They all did an unimaginable job in unimaginable conditions.
Another great episode today! Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Now I have the song in my head but that’s okay as I do like some Paul M and Wings. Views, castle, charity shops and zoomies. Another great video.
I was desperate to use a lyric as the title for the video, but didn’t think many people would remember the song :)
@@scotlandonashoestring at 58 we are old enough to remember and love it. :)

We r leaving Canada and moving to Scotland in the new year❤
I was born in Falkirk many moons ago, time tae get home
The wee place has changed a lot we’d guess.
Wow, Scotland's pen!$ (not sure if YT will let me write it out or not) has some lovely places on it!
It does, we need to get back there.

stunning places to visit. barr the midges... lol
Yeah, we’ve been lucky this year but they made a guest appearance at the last minute.
The ferry goes seasonally to Arran.
Ahh, makes sense.

@@shiskinegreenkeeper2782 Yes, but it calls at Brodick en route. I regret not taking the Ballycastle boat when it was running.
@@rosemarymee
Aye....calls into Brodick on way back to Ardrossan on a Saturday morning....
Are those the same Kelpies statues I seen at Falkirk, they said that the small statues get sent all around the country to be displayed
They are. There is one set of these smaller ones at the "real" kelpies and the other ended up here.
Shuda jumped over to Arran from Claonaig...........
Yeah we looked at the ferry but weren’t organised enough this trip. Next time maybe.
