Let’s take a moment for how stunning a backdrop these books make
Hear me out - A Dowry of Blood is one of my favorite books of all time and it’s so short and fast to read. Not intimidating at all. Have I convinced you? Read it. If you love yourself, you’ll do yourself this kindness
It’s giving me “that’s dangerous” vibes!
I’ve actually been *dying* to read a dowry of blood! I just keep telling myself I’ll read it after I finish what I’m currently physically reading but unfortunately hell bent is putting me in a dark academia mood
@@BrittanytheBibliophile oh yeah, I just finished hell bent and can relate 🖤
@@BrittanytheBibliophile
I guess 150 unread book
I have 2 hobbies: reading books AND buying them. I like to buy pretty editions, books in different languages, sagas that I didn't star yet, books from authors that interest me, etc. I have read maybe 20% of what I own and I don't feel guilty at all 😂 It's my money and I work hard for it 💁🏻♀️
You should do a reading vlog series for your unread books a month books! It would be interesting to know how many of the ones you have you liked!
😂 at "adam is home but he didn't come to check on me" I hope you're ok girl! We risking lives for our tbrs out here
Exactly that hahaha
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!!!! I am so embarrassed some times with how many books I have not read that are on my bookshelfs. But at least I have options haha
Love it hahaha it's the best life 🤩
I only get embarrassed when someone looks at my bookshelf and starts asking me what do I think of some books.... "oh those? No, I didn't read them yet 👀" please stop asking hahahaha
@@narunatsu1 OMG that's the worst haha
I am in the same category. I have over 1300 books. I have been reading them and I have read a lot of them, but I keep buying more than what I can really read. They will be read.
I wanna live in my home made Barnes and Nobles lol
I guessed 240! I just counted my unread books yesterday and I’m sitting at 145. Buying books and reading books are two separate hobbies 🙃
Am I the only one who is just stunned by the fact that 99% of these are hardback 😳😳😳
I actually find making videos like this really useful for myself. It kind of keeps me accountable to the amount of unread books I have but also in a weird way motivates me to read them 😂
Brittany! OMG! Glad you are mostly okay. Girl game changer, I got a barcode scanner and cataloged all my books on Libib. Did not know how therapeutic it would be to scan all those barcodes.
Ahh I used the barcode feature on Goodreads and it took so long & failed half the time- I can only imagine how fun a real scanner would be
Girl Elizabeth Acevedo’s books are so good and they’re also such quick reads! I also recommend the audiobooks for these because she narrates them herself and you can really just feel her words that way!
oooo really good to know about the audiobooks! I love when authors narrate them themselves
I would say it’s a pretty decent amount of tbr books, considering all the books that she buys and receives. I was expecting like 400 XD
It’s funny that a lot of them are the end of stories that she has said that enjoyed xD it’s like herself trying unconsciously to not come to an end, and can relate 🤣✨
I guessed 400
the dedication to taking all those books off your shelves!!!! ❤🔥
The Stephen Fry Books are not only history but he’s hilarious. Made me laugh out loud.
nooooo the fear that struck my heart when that stack started to fall! omg also not the freeze frame with the text update - that took me out 😂😭 i hope you're ok!
was waiting for 17:00 since your insta story haha!! this video is really showing your dedication
Hopefully it was worth the wait hahaha
the fact that you kept the clip of you getting rocked by the books made me laugh too hard😂😂😂
your videos made me want to start reading fantasy books. i mainly read romance or thrillers, so thank you for helping me branch out! you may have the most impressive physical tbr on youtube
Not the two towers literally coming for your neck 😭😭 I hope you're feeling okay!!!!
I've been in my own reading slump of sorts over the past couple years so it's no surprise to me that a lot of your unread books are also books I haven't read - as a matter of fact I think I've only read 2 of the books you have behind you. One of which is Heartless, and honestly???? It's a top ten book for me for sure, I literally love it so much. I was on my toes through basically the entire second half and certain parts had me gasping and screaming. It was the first Marissa Meyer book I'd read outside of the Lunar Chronicles and solidified her being an automatic buy for me.
Glad I'm not the only one that is behind on reading almost every single owlcrate book. Also this video is mostly my TBR as well. I feel like all of us are trying to read from our shelves this year. Me and my sister are trying to do that too.
I loved this Vlog thanks for putting it out there.
The Starless sea, Anne of green gables and Pride and prejudice are some of my all time favourite books and Frankenstein is also amazing.
Also, having "to read i own" shelf on Goodreads is really helpful.
17:19 the way I GASPED oh my gosh that was terrifying 😭😂
20:33 😂😂😂
How can he be my hero when he can’t even save me from my tbr smh
omg.. I felt it in my body when that pile of books was falling directly on you. My god.
Oh, god. You made me count! And now I know I have 731 unread books. I must be stopped. Now... to decide if I should declutter some or try and read them all.
Amazing. How do you store them all?
Get 269 more and you'll have a library of unread books!!
How often do you read?
Read them all. I’m more curious how do you store them lol.
"Not me talking to myself through the camera." 😂😂
Worth it: The Push, Rock Paper Scissors, People We Meet on Vacation, and The Midnight Library
Not worth it: This Time Next Year, The Holiday Swap, In a Holidaze, Reckless Girls, You're Invited, The Maid, The Paris Apartment, The Love Hypothesis, A Flicker In The Dark
The prison healer is so good!!
I'm currently reading two books to catch my TBR !! 📚📚😕🎉🙏💘
your tbr literally physically attacked you omg i gasped when it started falling 😭😂
I guessed 240 so pretty close! I’ve got 50 books on my TBR and that stresses me out so much can’t even imagine having 258 books!
I gasped out loud when the stack started to fall on you as if I could help😭
love the video girl hope your back feels better lol
The TBR strikes back video 😂
Maybe make something like a tbr jar with some of the books you are least likely to start and do like try a chapter kind of video.
I love the Stardust Thief and can't wait for the sequel.
One amazing thing-the stacks of books make a wonderful backdrop to the video!
And I was close-I guessed 242.
To help you feel better, and maybe inadvertently cast shame on myself, I have over 500 books I haven’t read yet. I have a problem with loving to buy and own books and I truly want to read them. I just need to accept I’m not a fast reader and to be more selective.
Overall, I don’t feel shame because I don’t spend money on much else and the books make me happy-but I do really WANT to read the books I own!
But I agree with you it’s not fun when people come over and ask about different books and I haven’t yet read them…
I literally gasped as the books flew toward your head.
A trick I use to TRY to limit the crashes of stacks is alternative spine-edge every so often or more often if you worry like with like the slippery slick covers.
I read Girl Serpent Thorn a few months ago and I really liked it! It's a fantasy romance with the main character who is a cursed princess. I thought it was an easy read and I enjoyed it all the way through. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. I hope you like it!
Your TBR really said “you want to ignore me, I think not” hope you’re feeling better! And I would say maybe pick out 3 each month and try to get them read- and then of course do a reading vlog to show what ones you like!
I'm currently deep into the process. I have about the same amount unread as you, although a number of them are graphic novels. Decluttering books is a change in mindset to remove the thought of "scarcity" or FOMO. Barring some out-of-print books, which could one day come back into print, you can still read ANYthing you get rid of if you decide you need to. Determine to own only a library of books you treasure. Commit to reading what you own. If that seems unmanageable, unhaul some of the unread books. If that is scary, set a smaller target to start with, such as 50 books. Get rid of duplicates first. Get rid of outdated or unwanted nonfiction or reference books. Get rid of books you don't like or don't want to read now. Consider getting ebooks for some series that you like and will re-read but don't "love". Unhaul books you have read and know you don't want to re-read. Determine if series you currently own but haven't read are still of interest. Again, remember that you can change your mind later if you get rid of some unread books, and that it's OK to keep only the books in a series you like.
Consider getting a Little Free Library and keeping it stocked - sharing books is fun and will continue to motivate your unhaul over time. If you still feel the need to buy books, unhaul a book for each new book. Or say you have to earn new books by reading books you already physically own on a two for one basis.
Last time I counted (a few weeks ago) my physical TBR was 200 books. I've read a few and bought a few, so I'm probably still right around there
For one l was so excited watching this because you seem to share a love/ preference for hard covers which l prefer, especially since lk a lot of people lve seen like paper backs. Your books seem really interesting, l hope you achieve your goal of finishing them all. Also how did you get such pretty covers l feel like all of yours are gorgeous!
definitely read: daughter of the moon goddess, legendborn, thunderhead, heart of flames, and on the come up AND BABEL ASAP
I have 6 books on my TBR right now and that's way more than what I usually have.
You should try a chapter of the books to see if your interested or not. That’s how I decide if I’m going to buy a book or not unless it’s from an auto-buy author.
i really enjoyed The Starless Sea!
Time to go on a no buy until you get through 100!
I only have 84 and I love the Stalking Jack the Ripper series!
I have a ton of book not read on my shelves. I continued to buy books while I was in vet school but didn't really get a chance to read them. Finally starting to get back into reading and hoping to get through some of them and get rid of others.
You have got to read this poison heart it’s so good even the sequel is amazing which is hard to find
I would say definitely do not feel bad, I had to stop my book of the month last year because I had close to 700 unread books, but I still have fairyloot and owlcrate. This year one of my book resolutions was to to get through my older books that have been sitting on my shelves and give/donate books I know I will not read or dnf. I took a list of some books I have read that you have not read that I really enjoyed and they are in no specific order: The last thing he told me by Laura Dave, Heartless by Marissa Meyer (definitely my favorite and highly recommend ) Lore Olympus Vol 1, How the king of Elfhame learned to hate stories by Holly Black - another favorite , These twisted bonds by Lexi Ryan must read ( I've already read twice :) ), Alice through the looking glass ( Alice in wonderland series is my favorite since I was a kid, lol ) and The Beauty and the beast. Also not to add to your large amount of books to read but if you love zombies and retellings you should check out Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter - I read it a few years ago and its an awesome series.
Oooo thank you for the suggestions!! And I’ll have to look into the Alice in zombie land books because that sounds right up my alley
Jade fire Gold was one of my favorite books I read last year.
I could've sworn you read Stalking Jack the Ripper....okay BUT JEEZ THAT BOOK FALL SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME Foul Lady Fortune is fantastic! I think you'll love it!
You tell that book stack who's boss! Apparently, Woven in Moonlight wants you to read it a few years ago. I'm glad you didn't get hurt too bad. 😬
Finally someone with so many unread books instead of a tiny little pile lol❤😂
i loved the video!! i hope your neck is ok now!!
Girl same with having way more unread books to read books on my 4 bookshelves 🤣🤷🏼♀️
I have a shelf on my goddreads called "TBR jar" with every one of my owned unread books in it and every thime i read one i take it off the shelf
Guilty of this too, and I'm typing this comment while compiling my next book haul list😁
Stunning hardcover editions 😍
The panic I felt when I saw the book tower was going to hit you😂
idk if this will make u feel better but I have around 20 unread books (which is a lot for me). I would recommend clap when you land, the hate u give, and the starless sea to prioritise! but the starless sea might be a little hard to get into so keep that in mind
Thank you for the tip on starless sea!! I’ll make sure I buckle in for the long haul with that one
Omg i am in 8:45 that's a lot of books you must be so smart !!
I guessed 250, so pretty close! I have 57 unread books on my shelf. I would absolutely love if you did two videos/one video of an unhaul of books and some kind of prioritization of the books you definitely want to read this year in your physical tbr 🫶 Oh and I loved the Kane Chronicles, I would recommend! Midnight Library and Priest was kind of meh for me, good smut in the latter tho 🫡
Thanks for putting so much work into this video! Also I was surprised to hear you're 5'4" because you seem a lot taller for some reason 😅 I'm 5'2" :(
I would unhaul Imaginary Friend. I DNFed like 10 pages from the end because I couldn't take it anymore. That book is like if a crack-dream wrote a book. It's bad.
Oooof oh noooo thats disappointing to know :(
OMG THE BOOKS FALLING!!! Lmao I could not help but laugh at that- 💀😭😭 glad ur okay!! I thought that the books would total 215 buttttr miss mama has a few more! 😭😭
As soon as I read Once Upon A Broken Heart last year, it immediately became one of my favourites and I reread it this month so I can read Balled of Never After and still LOVED it! Definitely a good read! My favourite series is usually ACOTAR, then TOG {haven’t read C.C. yet} but Once Upon A Broken Heart now rivals ACOTAR on my shelves! ♥️🦊 I think I have a total of 168 unread books but I literally only have one bookcase, and I’ve kept 27 books that I love. Hope you’re feeling alright, that looked like quite an avalanche … I think they were trying to get more attention
Oh wow!! I’ve actually heard amazing things about it and it definitely has peaked my interest
Imaginary Friends gets pretty religious but I feel like it was worth the read for me. Also, I actually really liked Horrid and I kind of doubted I would. I even got another book from that author that is now on MY physical tbr. I love your goal. I need to do that for myself!
Oh and you need to read the Kane chronicles, it’s so good and funny! And we’re getting a movie!
“…I could just stop inviting friends over.” 😂
i hope you're okay, please check for a concussion if you're having headaches, neck pain, or any other symptoms. ily.
I LOVED A dowry of blood and it's also a quick read. You won't regret picking that one up. Haven't read much else except heartstopper which is also a fun and quick read. My own unread books I want to read including ebooks are around 160. 😅 which is a lot. And there are also like 30 books or more I don't really plan to read. I try to slow down book buying but sometimes the ebook sales just seduces me lol. I think a big tbr is really cool but there is just too many books on mine that have been on my tbr for over 2 years. But I'm on the opinion books don't expire so I don't worry too much.
“Books don’t expire” I love that, I want that on a shirt
Pls read once upon a broken heart! This is my favorite Book ever!❤
I cannot recommend A River Enchanted enough! It was one of my top reads of last year. Beautiful writing, interesting magic system, with a mystery, amazing!
200 TBR? Brigid Kemmerer’s Letters to the Lost got me into reading more YA fiction and I’m a big Fangirl of hers. Her YA fiction novel Call It What You Want I call a 5-star read. ❤
I'm guessing 238 books ... looks so satisfying!!!
Nice bookstore of yours🎉
I‘m alway amazed how humongous American books are … our German ones I thought are big but this 😱
Fr,I never would’ve thought that the same books from different countries could be so different but then I held an American book irl and was like damn, why are these so big 🤨
YOU MUST READ THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY
I was curious, so out of your unread books, I also had 24 of those and I read and own physically 16. I was like I bet we have 50 of the same books. I was close. It was 40. If I included books I had read in general it probably would've been 50. UA-cam recced this vid. I'm definitely subbing.
This makes me feel less bad about the 20-30 books on my physical tbr 😝
I would LOVE for you to read Heartless so I know your thoughts on it!!! Hope you are okay from your book assault! ❤😂
I legit gasped and held my hands in front of me when I saw that stack of books tip foreword lmao
Glad you're okay tho (:
I have almost 150 unread books on my physical tbr. I only came back to reading in 2016 and I've read 146 since then if GR is correct, and some of those are audiobooks so they don't count for my physical collection. I have reading slumps very often (I'm in one right now, haven't finished a single book yet and been reading a graphic novel for like 7 days or something), I'm a slow as shit reader and I have a book buying problem. I read 30 books last year which was my GR goal and for a while I actually thought that wouldn't happen.
GIRL SAME! An audible gasp. I'm glad she's okay!
Once upon a broken heart!!!
When you get your next prescription, pay for the anti-reflective coating on the lenses. It's worth the money.
Don't feel bad at all, girl. I think I have close to 400 unread books on my physical TBR. 😊😬
I recognized a small handful of authors there like Sarah J. Maas as well as Rachel Hawkins and the only books I read by her were the Hex Hall series.
22:00 wow! Not even a friend that has living for years here in México could read that name so well! Props to her, honestly!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽✨
Wait is it actually correct?? That makes me feel so much better
@@BrittanytheBibliophile it was perfectly correct! And it was at a first try!!!!!
Also last week I was reorganizing my shelves and had 3 books drop right on my foot causing a gash, I feel your pain.
Ooooof honestly things falling on my feet will always hurt more than anywhere else, I feel for you
@@BrittanytheBibliophile different kinds of pain but it didn't linger. Hope your neck is better.
Glad to see I'm not the only one 😭
At one point ingot through my whole physical tbr - that was weird as hell 😂 never again xp my goal atm is getting through some fat ones since I’m leaving my country for about 18 months (working and travelling) and I’m not gonna be able to take lots of books with me. So e reader it is. But I’m not re-purchase things I already have on my shelves 😅
My guess was 250 so I was pretty close. I try to keep up with my Goodreads tbr, and I didn’t really start collecting books until 2020, but I have about 60 books on my physical tbr.
I have the opposite problem i read to much so i have one unread book so far but three new books coming. Also i love daughter of a moon goddess it got me back into my reading kick
City of brass a must
Heyyyy I was only off on my initial guess by 8! I want to get through my (admittedly massive) backlog of unread books this year, as much as possible. I'm thinking of making a big list on paper and sticking it to the wall in my office/library so I can also get the satisfaction of crossing the titles out as I read through things. I think that will be a good motivator for me.
Oooo actually that would really work for me too 👀 great idea!!
@@BrittanytheBibliophile I hope it does work for you! 💕
I have about 110 unread books. I think I've only read about 20% of the books I own. Hoping to get a good chunk read this year.
I think you definitely need to read Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. It's pretty good.
1:50 same girl, same
I have well over a thousand books, so wow I’ve got a full library.
I was off by 10! Go me I think that was pretty good for an on the fly guesstimate without actually adding it all up
My guess was 278! 20 off. My phys tbr number was 80 books vs like 120 something read- this is due to getting a full time job with a lot more buying power and about the aame amount of time available. I'm not running out of room but I started making myself small goals. Like read an old one then a new one or like phys first then I can read an ebook- and luckily my tbr is stacked in a 3x3 cube so I've been clearing "cubes" and everytime I clear one I can buy a few more but usually I end up reading more because I'm bad at keeping to my tbr lmfao. I think being a booktubrr is differnt tho. I believe in you and self discipline. I also understand letting books go. I did this too. This year my goal is to get my,tbr down to fit inside just a book cart. But I won't buy myself the cart until it'll fit (so 3 cubes of 9 LOL). I also torture myself all the time and buy books I think I "should" read and not that I want to. So getting better at that this year too!
My guess was 274 so I was close 🤣 Turtles All The Way Down is SO good. Highly recommend
