- The question asked is an HIV combo test, which is generally a term used to describe the HIV antigen antibody 4th generation test. If negative after 35 days of exposure conclusive of ruling out HIV? Yes he combo test or the HIV antigen antibody test. Yes, the period of time or the window period, that it is unable to detect HIV infection is typically within 3 weeks of exposure. So by 35 days, which is close to 5 weeks. If the test is negative, the likelihood of the individual having acquired HIV is extremely low. Nonetheless, I would still advise a regular ELISA test, at the end of 3 months of exposure. But to restate, the likelihood is extremely low if the combo test after 35 days is negative. Can unprotected vaginal sex or oral sex, with a partner whose HIV status is unknown lead to HIV infection? Well, we do not know the status if a partner, there are really two possibilities, either the partner is positive, that is infection with HIV or negative. When we do not know, it is hard to say whether the partner has HIV infection or not. In case the partner is HIV infected, there is definitely a risk of HIV transmission with unprotected vaginal sex, with oral sex again the risk is lower but certainly present.

You are 100% conclusively negative. No further testing is recommended.
Any tests which is done after 90 days is considered conclusive.

arsh brar what type of HIV test did you take 3rd or 4th generation. Did you also take an HIV1 RNA QL TMA?
As of 2018, a 4th Generation HIV 1 & 2 duo/combo Anitibidy test (has a 95% accuracy in 30 days after possible exposure and 99.7% accurate after 90 days) along with a HIV 1 RNA QL TMA (99.7% accuracy after 30 days). Both test will be a blood draw taken to a laboratory for processing (not a rapid test).
The 4th generation HIV 1 & 2 Antibody test is far better than the previous HIV 3rd generation test, which required retesting at 90 days. The 4th generation duo HIV 1 & 2 Antibody test along with an HIV 1 RNA QL TMA (early detection test) will be given to be conclusive that you are HIV negative.
The HIV 1 RNA looks for the actual HIV DNA in your system and has pretty much replaced the Western Blot.

As of 2018, a 4th Generation HIV 1 & 2 duo/combo Anitibidy test (has a 95% accuracy in 30 days after possible exposure) along with a HIV 1 RNA QL TMA (99% accuracy after 30 days). Both test will be a blood draw taken to a laboratory for processing (this test is not rapid test). If both test are NEGATIVE after 30 days of possible it is CONCLUSIVE and you are HIV- 😀. The CDC will suggest retesting at 90 days due to some locations are still using the HIV 3rd generation test.

I have some question - I went for antigen antibody tests after 60 days of possible infection , result is negative . Should i go for another test .
You should be good but just for peace of mind go get another test after 90 days

I have a Question on Combo
" Ag/ Ab" test :
If the Antibody isn't yet produced, cos there are people who seroconvert late , would the Antigen p24 b positive as long as the Antibody isn't present ,no matter how long it takes?
Logically the p24 becomes undetectable due to the rise of the Antibody , so someone who is positive may possibly be Negative on Antibody but Positive on P24?? ( primo infection).

Yes p24 can not be detected by 8 weeks mean antibody will be present ,if antibody is not present then p24 will be appear. So combo test after 6 weeks will give you 100% result, actually when hiv virus enters your body and start to destroy cd4 cell then antigen level will start. Dont worry about this ,,

Thats 4 months so i am assuming your all right. But You can also repeat the test at 6 months to be 100% sure.
