hey I just saw the video and haven't kept up to date with anything Yu-Gi-Oh related since the show years ago when it first came out are these shows in the card universe or separate things what's with all these what am I missing for context or was this just a small animation from previous cards threw out the years
If they truly want to keep this game going for many years to come, this is the move. You will bring in new players, retain current players, and attract older players who used to play these archetypes. Do it Konami. We know you have the resources to do it.

Maybe we can get another one like it for different archetypes for the 30th anniversary 😅
But, I would actually prefer archetype lore anime instead of Yu-Gi-Oh Eights, rerouting the resources for the next generation to focus on the cards instead of the card game players might be viable for them.
I would have my doubts.
If the animation was produced while these archetypes were being played, with their support cards effectively being the storyboard for them, I'd see that beneficial connection.
Nobody watching a 6 Sam anime is going to be like... let me play that very old synchro deck in Modern Yugioh, lol.
You'd have to be printing new cards for a lot of these archetypes that elevate their play to justify an anime, and even that is a very slow way to release the cardboard.
They need to make the game less complicated.

For context : This is a promotional video from Konami Animation, their first work. On the website it's stated that they will make anime based on Konami licence and others.
So yeah we can expect some YuGiOh anime lore down the line.

The Icejade queen sacrified herself to keep the last Icejade Aegirine alive while Longyuan burns everything down, just for that same Icejade to comeback and clapped Longyuan to dust at every single corner with everything she've got (there is not a single word written about this, but if you check the effects of Icejade Gymir Aegirine and Evil Longyuan, literally all of her effects are made to counter Longyuan's effects specifically) . I would literally pay anything to see that moment in anime form.

With how many archetypes there are, this new studio has enough source material to make anime for years
With how often new cards are printed, they can be working non Stop until the game itself dies
On top of that, this is "Konami Animation", a studio for tie-ins to anything Konami owns. Anyone who's ever wanted a Metal Gear, Gradius, Silent Hill, or even just a different Castlevania show has something to look forward to.
Also Konami Animation has stated on their website that their work will not be limited to the Yu-Gi-Oh IP, but to ALL of Konami's IPs. I think the success of Castlevania pushed for this. SIlent Hill Horror anime. Possible. Metal Gear 1-5. Possible. Even Gradius, Rocket Knight, and Contra. ALL Possible.
@elijahpadilla5083 Konami probably will continue the Castlevania series with their own studio working on it, maybe they can adapt the DS games like Portrait of Ruin or Order of Ecclesia

Lore of duel terminal, world Legacy, Albaz and their adventures. You could even do the Egyptian lore, but from the POV of the monsters.
They could even have small little short tales for the smaller lore archetypes like I dunno Ghost trick, a Halloween special.
I keep asking for the love of god do it, the amount of people who will join just to play their favorite show will be huge.
We had a show about playing the game, but shows about the world the game is made of would be epic.

i honestly want Sky Striker to get an anime, because we already have a manga for it and I really want this archetype to get it's own anime, the story is literally anime worthy, I mean as much as I love fallen of albaz, Sky Striker is the archetype for me, I seriously want this to get an anime because well of all the people that love this archetype's lore and story on the characters of Raye, Roze, Azalea and Camellia

This was a celebratory animation, that also announced the opening of "Konami Animation". So, now Konami has its own animation studio to make anime for any card lores, or any videogame they own.
If it's also tie-ins to product, I'd be pleasantly surprised.

@@2iq371It's an announcement for Konami opening up an in-house animation studio to work on "animated tie-ins to product". So, Yugioh card lores (the only part of Yugioh they own, because Shueisha and Gallop own the Dueling), Metal Gear animation, Castlevania, Silent Hill . . .
Of course people are complaining about the waifu archetypes. We asked for Duel Terminal anime for how many years now?
@@wakkaseta8351 Storylines only got one clip each. DT got unshackling Trishula, Visas got the start of the second loop, Albaz got the beginning, Diabellstar got hiding from the Goblin Bikers after creating Poplar, and a nod to BOTH OCG Stories short manga.
The only conspicuously missing major stories are World Legacy, Gagagigo, and Dracoslayer.
Ashamed there was no world legacy lore. Cool trailer though 🔥
They might be saving that for later, probably till they can expand more on the story and lore. At least more so than it already has 🤔

The Albaz lore is the open end situation where it's probably ended, but still open to new sequel in the future.
The Visas Starfrost lore and the Diabellstar lore are still ongoing, with Visas lore closer to the finish line while Diabellstar lore is still expanding.

@@professorxeno4056 everything pretty much wrapped up. Now they just introduce a new generation of Igknight, Dinomist and Majespecter cards for the sake of supporting those decks, but the storyline of the Dracoslayers pretty much ended i think.
@@sekaihunter9378 big sad if that’s the case. Both Albaz and World Legacy wrapped up pretty smoothly for the majority lore wise. Like you said for Albaz lore, I feel like world legacy is very much in a similar spot. Ib having the world key and it being beckoned by its light towards a potential new adventure and Ningiru/Longirsu/Giru overlooking her. Wouldn’t be surprised if that wasn’t the “end” end as well.
In contrast, The Draco stuff always felt a bit messy to me. Honestly had no idea about where that story is or was going. Sad to think that luster/master peace story ends by them just…I dunno..vanishing after fighting calamities.

They really should just make an anime of all these stories already kinda sad there wasn’t a shout out in the animation of some the more classic stories like Die Grepher and DD warrior lady story ar general frees and Gigaga Gigo.

The entire card storyline is more commonly referred to as World Legacy. Starting from world chalice all the way to the twist of Demiurgear.
I mean, they put a very small cameo of Visas and didn't include Tear. I hate to criticize some of the decks they included, but a 25th anniversary should really at least mention the best deck in the history of the franchise once.
@@randumo24 The best deck of all time is still PePe. Ishizu Tear was only able to dominate so long bc Konami didnt know how to hit it right to make it unplayable plus the fact that OCG people couldnt let the deck go. Modern Konami hates doing Emergency Banlists on top of that.

I was just thinking of an Isekai like Yu-gi-oh! world for a new anime yesterday. No cap! I thought to myself, the lore books are ok but it would be better if those would be animated.
Even if they are just short films about lores, put together to make a season. Then, this trailer came out. Crazy!

Yugioh the card game is there actual biggest money maker and if they make anime and even more merch for card archetypes and the like they can make up for a lot of loses they have been taking because of other divisions. Especially the pachinko side cause of lockdowns for Corona and the like when they wanted to end more of there gaming division.
This looks goated, I do have a few complaints though.
1. They showed nearly all of the Duel Terminal archetypes, WHERE IS DRAGUNITY!
3. You mean to tell me Konami have the budget to do this shit, and instead of all of these, which will boost card sales all over the world like crazy, they choose to waste money on Rush Duels and that mid-ass anime? Not cool Konami.

So much potential and something we badly needed to see. A lot of the more recent anime take place "in the not too distant future" from the original Duel Monsters time line, but it feels like they've done that multiple times back to back and its been overdone.
This is way more interesting and if they based an anime season off an archetype it just seems much more interesting compared to what we've had. I think the last time I watched an anime was Yu-Gi-Oh! GX era, I would watch a series about Six Samurai or Fire Kings vs The Atlanteans!

@@markcoroneos7811Not really. Its rumored that Dark Magician time travels and every artwork had a different era where he was in different timelines with DMG. We want to know how he met all these monsters through his 5,000 year journey of time traveling and how he became Chronicle Magician.
Literally no music , instrumental bgm in the entire yugi oh series more iconic than passionate duelist from DM . And the first time i hear this music in this anniversary ads, my heart immediately know it , this is the moment of truth, the moment we has been waiting for. The lore in game cards brought to life in anime format. Also if you totally focus on the music , the vibe of bgm change in each lore, for example in six sam scenes , there are hints of old Japanese sound throw into that passionate duelist.
The whole thing was a masterpiece
