GUIMARAS | SEAFDEC, Andana Resort, Ave Maria island, & more

Guimaras is an island province located in Panay Gulf. It's situated between the islands of Panay and Negros.
It is famously known for mangoes, which locals argue is the sweetest in the Philippines, if not, the world. It is one of the best, that's for sure.
But Guimaras is also blessed with natural beauty. There are several beaches and smaller islands travelers can visit. One such tiny island is Ave Maria, a small island perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
There are also marine protected areas around the island. Travelers must visit Igang Marine Station run by the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC). It's a research facility that houses rare breeds of marine life like giant groupers and giant milkfish. It also has rescued animals like sea turtles that are recovering in its facility.
Andana Resort is the newest resort on Guimaras island. It's a luxury resort that also caters to backpackers. Capsule or pod rooms cater to budget friendly travelers.
