DJ Clue mixtapes were a go to back in the day. One of my favorite ones was Springtyme stickup 96. Salute Math Hoffa for this interview. The mixtape game back then was golden.
Mobbdeep flooded his mix tapes 💯 another one was the Holloween havoc and Desert storm series I miss all that ole school smh .....
pt 1 and 2
Springtime Stickup 96 was my first Clue tape. Classic tape
Facts.
Professional 2 was his best no doubt
10 things to quit for all Strong Men:
1. Caring about what others think
2. Not believing in yourself
3. Not experimenting different ideas / solutions for problems (life&business)
4. Not prioritizing your health
5. Wasting your precious time
6. Wanting something (instead write a plan and work towards it)
7. Chasing meaningless relationships
8. Wasting or draining your energy from beating your meat 🥩
9. Wasting time by scrolling social media
10. Nailbiting/nailpicking habit for good (if you do it - consider stopping it as it makes you mentally weak + affects your confidence and all other areas of your life!)
Take it easy and I hope you found one thing helpful in this list...........
Thanks For Posting This I Needed To See This
Really a great post respect brotha 🙏🏽
Thank you brother, every now & then a post like this is very necessary.
No Question 💯💯💯💯✊🏾

This is officially the best Hip Hop podcast. Nothing is more authentic than a Barber shop in Harlem. This is GROUND ZERO for the culture
It's a sophisticated barbershop quiet dapper like I would imagine a new York barbershop to look like. Probably $50- $100 a cut
Harlem is flaky math should been in Brooklyn home turf than u gonna get some convos
Who are the others?
@@spazarellapoet8735 imagine paying 50 dollars for a Caesar. FOH.
Even though clue and slay had their differences (remember they got into it on air), they still had mad respect for each other.
Envy skipped it cuz he still in his feelings for getting smacked
Quality, over Quantity
@@UCUSmusic envy still in his feelings about everything
@@progressiveoverload252 thats fair.
Don't remember
There were so many pre-COVID funerals that I felt the same way about people. The reality is none of us should be judging the way anyone else says goodbye.
Facts. I had to stay in the parking lot during my best friend’s funeral because of covid.
Personally, I have never been to a funeral and paid attention to who wasn't there and often times missed who was.
@@purposepassionandlovetv863 Agreed. I felt that way afterwards remembering people that I thought should have been there.
Right. I hate when people look at funerals selfishly. It’s not about you it’s about Kay slay, and he’s no longer here with us. So if I choose to mourn a different way that has doesn’t have anything to do with you.
Everyone grief is different! I have an Aunt that will not attend a funeral. Not even for her own She has lost three daughters & did not attend.
#DJClue is in my opinion the greatest PURE MIXTAPE DJ of all time !!! In the early 2000s a Clue tape was like a new drug every time one dropped #nocap !!! Niggas had to have that tape to hear them freestyles and unreleased joints over some albums that was dropping at the same time real facts ... Plus DJ Clue broke alot of rappers including his biggest artist FABOLOUS and all his mixtapes had shit we will cherish forever as true HipHop heads !!! #DJClue #DesertStorm #RocaFella #MixtapeLegend #DjIcon #GOATed 🔥🔥💙💙💪🏾💪🏾✊🏾✊🏾✌🏾✌🏾💯💯 #Shoutout #MyExpertOpinion !!!
Facts
I still have a lot of Clue mixtapes from the early 00’s
💯
Early 2000s ? 🤔 late 90s !!!!
Clue mixtapes mid to late 90’s was raw and crazy 🔥🔥🔥🔥
DJ Clue showing love to DJ Kay Slay is great to see especially after their argument on Hot 97 back in the day.
Yes
@@dramahawkpromotions9621 💪🏻
Especially when rumor has it that they were f****** at the radio station. Lol!
Math keep rockin and rollin brotha. It’s the take over
You kno alot of times we have disagreements or misunderstandings with someone 20 or 30yrs ago and we hold onto that and never Grow out that Mentally !!! Salute 2 Clue for Being a Grown Man !!! RIP Kay Slay !!!
early 2000s I was in Africa ,cote d'ivoire 🇨🇮 and i was listening to some dj clue mixtapes..
his run was huge and international
Salute to you CLUE
"Everything is so microwave" -Dj Clue. He's right about that.
Can’t wait for this episode….still got ALL my Clue Clue Clue tapes…real DJ👊 TDK days…
Hoffa what you want with hip hop is definitely happening. Real bars are back baby
The professional is a classic!!!!!
I’m only 23 I found out about Clues legendary tapes a few years ago. Some of the greatest music ever put together.
Unfortunately that mixtape golden era will never be what it was😒
God bless Dj Kay slay that energy will never be duplicated 💯💯💯
I remember hearing the Ruff Ryders anthem remix on a Clue tape as a kid and my mind was blown. Between the bars being tossed around on that crazy production, and Clue's adlibs, shit was crazy! I must've ran that back 10,000 times
Was on his album. The professional
Clue addlibs mad annoying
Thats the only version i know!
Dj Clue Nyc mixtape legend alone with others. Hoffa your show is the shit.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
DJ CLUE, I was rocking it... like I am the man with my peeps. You were really an inspiration and your mix tapes taught me another dynamic of music.🔥🔥🔥
I am from South Africa, 🇿🇦 Thank You, God's Blessings and Love to You All 👏
I remember back early 90s working at the YMCA with a young DJ Craig G. He was a lockeroom attendant but was getting crazy money. He was burning cassette tapes inside a closet, then delivering them around Manhattan, while still on the clock. Him and Dj S&S were determined to match Clue and Ron G and took off with those mixtapes.
I bought Clues Summertime Shootout 96 in Atlanta at a gas station at the Freaknik 96 and I’m from Michigan #classic
Favorite Clue tapes:
The Rulers Back Pt. II (1999)
Clue For President Pt. II (1998)
Show Me The Money Pt. II (1997)
Desert Storm ‘98 (1998)
Summertime Shootout (1995)
Thats his opinion and perspective I know too many people personally that do NOT mess with funerals for a multitude of reasons and he kind of said that tho
I'll say this again!! Show Me the Money Part 2 was the best mixtape in that error. I'll never forget that mix tape.
Era *
@@blackequitynetwork1669 😂🤣🤣🤦♂️
You had a error spelling era.
DJ Clue, Prodigy (R.I.🅿️), Havoc, and Big Noyd "The Professional". I wore that track and album out in highschool! CLASSIC!!!

This is how I felt for my dad funeral ppl are only around when times are good. But when times are hard that's when you see how fucks with you .
Verzus is an example that it’s possible still to get people to gather all at one time to experience an event or high level entertainment. Keep pushing Clue to consider something Math.
Versus was a money grab for celebs
only if they keep it free. They dropped the ball w/ Onyx vs B-Real, so much so even B-Real had to comment why it wasn't on IG / free. Both groups kept it going, but it was a bad watch, the crowd was horrible.
I used take greyhound to NYC 2001 and grab Clue and Kay slay mixtapes from the Africans on 125th in dufffle bags back to Detroit and move that 🤫
Cap real dudes that did that didn’t don’t talk about that🙄. Y’all weirdos be real weird attention seekers on the internet.
salute the legend DJ Clue, from the father of l.a. mixtapes, to the GOD of all mixtapes, you are the blue print, and truly appreciated, peace
DJ Clue and Kay Slay arguing on the radio is classic… lol
They need to do a clue movie for real. All the drama he went through making the tapes, events with artists behind the scenes, and the the music of course. Maybe a movie or streaming series.
I agree
That would be Fire and Legendary 🔥
Esso needs to relax this is not your interview he answering questions for dj clue
Esso always talking for people...😂

NAS, NOREE, CAPONE, TRAGEDY , CORMEGA & even HAVOC all didn't show up at PRODIGY's Funeral.
Respect to 50Cent, even he showed up at PRODIGY's funeral, when those other Queens Back Stabbing Clowns didn't
Daaayum!!!
What did you want them to all show up for? Slay was already dead and gone. Showing up or not doesn't change how the felt about Slay. Every man grieves differently.
There was actual beef in certain things with prodigy that’s why they didn’t show up

@@thecunninlynguist yoooo that laugh hahaha. Fucking classic. Those clue mixtapes in the 90s were the fucking shit

It's obviously water under the bridge now but yo that clue slay argument was one of the funniest arguments ever. When clue said stop acting duke I was rolling 🤣 😂
Clue has definitely solidified himself in HipHop history. His mixtapes set the standard for all mixtapes. I’m from Jersey and I used to spend my summers down south. They was calling ALL mixtapes Clue tapes, regardless of who the DJ was that made the tape💯
Interesting he solidified a brand.
This is my new favorite channel, dope content
4:00 we had OFFICIAL clue? tapes down here in VA .. NY niggas won't the only niggas up on mixtapes in the 90s... THE SOUTH IS NOT SLOW!!!! ..on EVERY CLUE? tape he shouted out "My nigga BoBo..FUTURE HITS!" On his mixtapes.. we had the real Clue tapes..
You right he always shouted out Bobo future hits and duro
And DJ Screw tapes
@@jordanwright4038 He used to always shot out "DaDa Fashion in Baltimore"
Yep I'm in the 757 Used to cop the Clues tapes from Directions clothing store in Hampton, a kisok in Colisuem mall in Hampton and Bottom Beat records in Downtown Newport News
Mixtape carries a different meaning now!
This man is the reason it has a meaning at all. Do remember!
@ᴍᴀᴛᴛ ʜᴏғғᴀ But you are NOT Math Hoffa!!... smfh
Get lost and take your scamming wiff you!!
Clue at 7:40 is expressing some real sentiment… I feel that.
Boi.. I remember meeting in clue in the Jacob Javis center in 95.. Nigga clue had his mixtapes on CD!! Niggas was blown away by that. Lol
DJ CLUE BACK TO SCHOOL ‘97..!!

DJ CLUE mixtapes were selling like CRACK in Lagos, Nigeria back in the 90s. Also I love the part when Esso went to sleep for a minute. We need more of that
One of the best clue tapes:when nas and nature blazed it.......period....dearly departed for years I reminisce inhaling chocolate....classic.

Classics since way back.
Respect Clue
Math stays with a good ear and the dope questions.
Math should really do these interviews by himself. These other dudes make it too much.
Dead ass tho !
Nah it creates the environment he wanted to create....it's in a barbershop, you gotts have multiple ppl.
This is hip hop mathematics shining at its best!!!
Do y'all see the way Hynaken looking @ Esso he like Damnnnnn let Clue talk 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You gotta drop this math, asap!
Great interview!
Dj Clue is a true legend🔥🔥🔥🔥
DJ clue straight legend no waivers, humble down to earth brother fasho
I feel the love and respect that Clue was pushing. But, like my man said. You don't know what kept those people from being there. They may have had a death in their family. Or something more important than missing or being late to a gig as he had....
Lmaoooo yea whatever sounds good
Funerals are for the living not the dead. Slay already gone. I don't have to show up for a funeral to show people I loved or respected you. People grieve differently. Be mad at the people who don't show up to celebrate you while you're alive.
I even brought a couple of DJ Clue mixtapes in Maryland and DC.
My Top 5 dj albums:
1. Clue proffsessiol 1/2
2. Kay slay more than just a DJ
3. Kid Capri soundtrack to the streets
4. Funk flex the mix tape
5. Tony touch peacemaker
Dj Doowop and the bounce squad and Ron G was my favorites
Just always be mindful That some brothers Like my self wicked a.k.a. big wic from Connecticut was incarcerated and couldn't make the big Homie funeral and that shit hurts R.I.P to the big Homie KaySlay
One of the greatest of all time
Math you have some great ideas. This show alone proves how good your ideas are. I don't think yah get enough credit... good shit..
Big Respect Math keep pushing🦈💯
I like wat u doin math keep going
I'm glad Clue said what he said about people not showing up to your funeral, when you are expected to be there.
It ain't far from dead. Music now is garbage. Just cause someone makes money doesn't mean the music is good
Rip K Slay
Great show as always 👏.
Clue is definitely not lying about that and I felt that. I saw that recently with someone close to me when they passed away and let me tell you. That day, you'll really know who are your true friends and who was faking the entire time.
Math gave Clue the alley-oop but I didn’t like Clue’s answer. He knows that the radio program director ain’t letting him play no unknown artist in mix show rotation on the regular to blow up on the strength! It’s a damn shame how these radio stations control the organic flow of music. All these deejays are highly paid and over glorified puppets!
When does the full interview 🎥video get released
Great interview, I was an MC from Queens myself and P Dap was a Clue mixtape God.
Tony Touch would be a good vs for DJ Clue
The legend clue!! His Mixtapes are a staple in the game! Math tryna get a spot on clue next tape , I c u math lol. Essso always seem to insert himself in every situation.Clue said he missed out on an artist. N he’s like yea me too. Ok ?can we let the guest speak. Besides that,Really informative episode, keep it up!
Griselda been on it..
Clue is a real one. He would rock Mitchell and LESS...haha, but it's ok
this is just my opinion, a funeral isnt a goodbeye. The person was dead for awhile by the time the funeral was completely put together. Different people honor the dead in different ways.
Because you dont go to someone funeral. Thats not always a sign of direspect. Alot of people dont like funerals. They want to remember the person they love when they were alive. They dont want to see them in a casket. Im one of them
not a while awhile is like a year. a funeral takes a week
@@GunsNGames248 awhile is not a year. Dictionary says “for a short time”
@@bluepheasant2844 it's what you call a short time. a week isn't a short time
Dj Clue, Dj Woo Wop,and Dj Dirty Harry were my go to mixtapes as a kid.
