@@jaykerouac2 Eric, as world renowned expert and accomplished saxophonist, should have held back or even declined a solo improv, lest for fear the tenor beginner might be discouraged and perhaps gave up. Eric is as great an instructor as he is a sax expert; I have learnt so much from him, both as a person and saxophonist. Maybe, like a youthful Charles "Yardbird" Parker, Corey will return as the new John Coltrane or Michael Brecker, reincarnated (smile)
Yes, a rotten player. The name cats smugly look at him in a friendly way. They know better but are afraid to say or do anything. What kind of teachers could they be? The tune should have been stopped after a few of the horrible notes, and the poor player either ejected, or lectured to. I don't know what else to say. I am an alum of Berklee from late 70's/early 80's. This garbagey playing would not have been smiled at by teachers back then. Yelling at crappy players, kicking their ass, was part of the schooling back then.

They may be totally correct but a world made by perfect pitch and click tracks formulated and devoid of spontinaity will soon be upon us. AI robots can replace us mediocre struggling musicians who play with feeling out of love and the world will be a sterile unsurprising place. I'll be down by the railroad tracks blowing bad notes and the birds and frogs are going to back me up.
