Double jumps on the other hand greatly reduce your momentum, and don't have this weird property directional airdodges have. (And you can't die by jumping into the top blastzone either, you have to be launched) So if you think you're gonna die (to the side) from the launch, you should jump, not air dodge. If you don't think you'll die, then depending on your recovery route, you might airdodge to save your jump. Though there's none here, watch some other clips, and you'll see pros when they get launched to the side and think they'll die, they jump, not air dodge
