I had never heard of this book before. I wouldn't mind finding a copy.
There used to be a store in Manhattan called the Federation Trading Post. I found Star Trek blueprints, tech manual supplements, and other cool stuff there. Sadly, it's long gone.

Oh yes! Our friend, Doug Drexler, was one of the owners of that store. I remember reading about it in Starlog when I was growing up. I thought "how cool is it that they have an actual Star Trek *store* in New York!"

I think I have a catalog from them somewhere. I ordered two TNG communicator pins from there back in the day.

@@TREK-WORLD I liked the episode sound recordings playing in the background, as well as the barrel of tribbles with the cutout of a Klingon saying "parasite sale."

I’ve never seen that one before. When in the 70s were they published? Late 70s?

They were distributed at the New York Star Trek Convention in 1976. So about mid-70s.

      They bear a 1975 copyright.

@@TREK-WORLD New York Star Trek '76 was held January 23-26, so a 1975 copyright makes sense. Lisa Boynton who put on the convention had previously ran Star Trek Chicago just five months prior, which is a legend in old guard Trek fandom circles for being a ness. New York Star Trek 76 out did Star Trek Chicago for sheer chaos with the con being massively oversold, and then shut down because upwards of 50,000 showed up, but the hotel only had capacity for 20,000.

I actually have a copy of a book from 1995 that has that title. It's basically a set of questions based on TOS, TNG, DS9 & VOY.
You can find them for about $10 on Amazon.

@TREK-WORLD the one I'm thinking of was all based on TOS ,it had questions of logic, observation and things that you would think would be on a Starfleet exam

I'll keep an eye out for it. I get batches of "mixed trek" stuff regularly that I have to sort through. lol.

0:03 - "an unusual piece of Non fiction"? -- umm... you know that Star Trek is FICTION right? I listened through your whole video and it does not sound like it is about the actors or the production of the show. you just talk about the characters.

You’ve raised a good point! In Star Trek fandom, generally literature is divided into “fiction” and “non-fiction”. But the lines are no where as cut and dried as they appear. Most people will tell you that they view the Star Trek Concordance, Star Trek Blueprints, and Star Trek Encyclopedia in the same “non-fiction” grouping as The Making of Star Trek, The world of Star Trek, and Inside Star Trek. However, in Star Trek both groups have “in-universe” works that really are fiction by definition. But “in-universe” works such as the Concordance and Encyclopedia and such are still viewed as “reference books” which are generally “non-fiction”. It makes the correct word choices very awkward when referring to these kind of works. Jim

@@TREK-WORLDI had never thought of it the way you presented it, but having written it out the way you have seems very “logical” to a fan of ST. But, we all know it’s fiction, even those fans who model greater parts of their lives on ST than others. I’m glad the fiction of ST was formulated and presented and allowed to grow in thought and fact. Thanks
