I spent 3 days out with my RF800 F11, my RF100-400mm and my Canon R7.
Around a lake and at a beautiful beach with some mangrove, trying to show how cool the combo is, and that you can absolutely have fun and make good photos with some of the cheapest telephoto lenses available.

Ah Chris - thank you, thank you!!!! This is really awesome. I can not tell you how impressed I was with that 100-400 and what it does. The little children of the lake are sooooo cute! really really awesome - thank you, thank you thank you!! And as always, YOUR photos are stunning - I think my favorites are the wasps! and the birds...... and ..... you know, the 800 F11 and the 200-800 I prefer on a full frame! 🙏🤗💖

@@Chrispitchwildlife I am waiting too!! What I miss about the R5 is the 8K... and the larger sensor. I hope the R5II is stacked and if not, I will keep shooting the R3 - it is a pretty amazing body. 🤗

I agree the 100-400mm is more fun because of its versatility. Even with the 600mm f11, I always found myself too close to the subject. These budget lenses are always fun to use. Great photos! Take care. 😎👍

Hi Chris - I use the R50 with the RF 100-400 and the 1.4 Extender giving an equivalent focal length of 225 - 895 at f11 - I find this combo works really well. I prefer this set up to the Rf800 f11. Nowadays I need the zoom to help me find my subject. Really enjoyed your video. 😊😊

Oh! Thank you very much for the comment! 😲
Extenders! I totally forgot about them...
Yeah, just adding an extender when needed seems to make sense! 🤔
Personally, now that I am using only my RF100-500, I may dig into it, if I have time... Maybe.
      Thank you again, cheers! 👍😀

I bought in Lazada (equivalent of Amazon in South Asia).
It's probably hand made and quite expensive. Maybe 55 USD.
It a 1mm rubber colored bands.
I could protect le lens from attracting the heat of the sun at least. I am not sure if it's really useful, I bought it for protection at first 😁. But it can become messy sometimes.
There is probably the same on Amazon.

Good review and with the R7 you can do some major cropping due to the high resolution (mega pixels) of the sensor. It's regretful that the R7 has that high price.
Yes, for macro shooting you should use a flash 🙂

      Hey Dennis,
Thank's for watching again, and for the comment! 😀👍
Iadmit that the R7 is probably the one cropped censor to get for wildlife. But I know a guy (Jonny Pink) who say that he will sell it and buy the R50. Mostly because he don't use the R7, but he also prefers the EVF and the tracking. He seems impressed by that little R50.
      Cheers! 😄

I use R50+ RF 100-400 mm. It's also a good combination although you can experience an imbalance between them due to the size of the camera house. Happy shooting 😊

100-400 for the win. I wouldn't say cheap but relatively affordable for a camera gear. My fellow Filipinos will smack my head if I call these prices cheap or even "affordable for a camera gear" especially if they know nothing about the hobby.
