    When I was on the street and eating out of the bins and supermarket skips the addicts and Eastern Europeans used to make a total mess. I'd clean it up because it was destroying my source. They did indeed introduce cages later and bring them all in. Yeah, everything has a consequence. Good point. Mark

    5 good tips you have selected Kaz. All of them are of value both for new and old wild campers. If I should add anything then it is this advice from the Norwegian Mountain Code: "Don’t be ashamed to turn around." Sometimes we just need to say that this is not our day and go home - there will always be new chances for wild camping or hiking:)

      Absolutely love that snippet of advice 😍 I know people often view it as ‘failure’ if they turn back. But I see it as exactly the opposite-a huge success for making the right choice 👍

    Hi again, watching another vid👍 to me a deer screaming is really blood curdling😱 will post a link if find good one, totally agree re water situation! don't sleep under or near BEECH trees, they drop boughs

      Hi Jennifer 😊 Glad you found it useful! I used to get so spooked by the animal noises so really wanted to find some way of getting used to them. This most definitely helped a lot but I still have a bit of a moment when I hear a fox scream! Thanks for watching and commenting 😊👍 Karen

    Very helpful thanks Kaz. I wish these restrictions would hurry up and ease so I can give wild camping a go and start and use all of these tips. I think I’d have to sleep in ear plugs, otherwise I’ll never sleep!

    My top tip, Be Safe ! People are your biggest threat when Wild Camping. You are safer camping alone in a forest in the middle of nowhere than you would be walking down a UK Highstreet after dark.

    Hey Karen!!Lol!! we need these tips because we have never gone Wild camping!!! We will def start out in the garden first😁 I didn't even think of that🙈See told you we are rookies...Lol!!I think I would freak out hearing strange noises in the night. We live in Ireland, so I don't think anything will eat us... but still... it could be scary😂!! I didn't know that is what a fox sounds like. I look forward to watching your other videos and to get to know you!!!

    Hello Kaz, cracking video, clear and confident tips. Really useful 👍 we always carry water and a filter, just incase. Our Rhinog wild camp we carried 7 litres 😬 that just saw us over the night and back to the car. Great tip about bot pitching under precarious trees! All the best, Ceri and Kat ❤☕🤗

      Thank you! Think I’m a bit obsessed about water now 🤪 I tend to go off for around a week or longer so I’m always manically tracing my finger along streams in the maps to make sure I pass by them 🙄

      @@ChrisJB I think that might be true. If I’m by the beach and can hear animals/birds there with the sea background noise it’s just fine. Also fine in the lakes. But if I’m in woodland and everything is groaning, creaking and rustling around me then the animal noises seem more sinister somehow!

    Personally on this tag I think 'leave no trace' should be first and foremost, it can't be hammered home enough especially now with 'stay-cations' looking like a real possibility and more novices camping. Good all round advice, Sub'd.

      Totally agree with you and I really hope 🤞all will be well when we flood out into the hills again.. I always carry a spare plastic bag and put rubbish in that as I spot it-I know I shouldn’t have to but I just can’t bear to see and leave all the mess there!     Bit random but where are your socks from? Non of mine are long enough & my boots are forever getting grit & stones in, so I'm on the hunt for long socks like yours that I can slouch down to try & block the bits getting in. X
