His work in boats on the waters monitoring Orca whales, salmon and eagles makes up for the years experiencing the evil that humans do to themselves and each other. This is absolutely horrible that the poor baby was the one that this domestic abuse almost killed. There was a history of domestic violence. This is why women should be mindful of who you are with, especially having a child or children with. There are always signs of someone becoming abusive from the beginning. The way they talk to you, the way they treat you or others, and the obvious, hitting you or grabbing you in some way. At the very first sign of these, don't stay and try to work it out, or say that maybe he is having a bad day, no, you get away from that person and stay away from them. I just read he also shot her dog and she was able to convince him to let her take her dog to the veterinarian, but was unable to get help. Then she convinced him to let nearby construction workers to have them fix a window he broke and was able to call for help.
That's a pretty elaborate story. In the middle of a crisis her baby shot and she and he are worried about a broken window? If that's true, then Mom is not telling the whole truth. If someone is going to harm you and you know it you run, you don't negotiate. Someone opened a window in my house and started to climb in the first thing I did was grab my baby and run. If he broke a window she should have grabbed her baby then and ran. There's pieces missing but because Dad is dead he cannot say his side of the story. Prayers to baby and family.

Seems like they had a good home and nice cars….as I always say, money doesn’t buy happiness. People always wish and pray for money and good finances. My husband and I work our butts off day in and day out! We always say how much better off we would be if we had a nice home and nicer things! But I have to say I need to be more grateful for our run down three bedroom two bath mobile home, because even tho the floors are caving in in some areas and the shower doesn’t work in our children bathroom so they have to use our….we are a happy loving beautiful healthy family of five and I thank God for each and every thing I have in my life! I have an amazing hard working LOVING man by my side that comes home to me every evening and doesn’t cheat in me r Kay a hand in me! Three beautiful loving teenage kids! 15, 17, and 19! Who are my absolute world! I’m truly blessed and yes I’d love to be able to provide us with a home that isn’t faking apart in places! But we have a roof over our heads and I’m grateful for that. OMG I am crying so hsrd...thank God the baby has survived this horrible event... I'm so sorry for the family that had to go through this. As a mother of three, grandmother of six and a great grandmother of one, I can't imagine how that mother felt...helpless. God bless you all...especially the first responders...

The mother & baby were held hostage for 8 hours. Mother escaped, without her baby. SWAT, cops & canine rescued the baby.

Absolutely heroic actions by the mother AND police! I have to wonder though... they were already inside the house, en masse WITH a dog... once the officer ran out with baby Jackson, why didn't ALLLLLLLL the other cops inside there just take down the dude? Why enter into a standoff for HOURS that resulted in this family now losing their entire house because the nutcase set it on fire?

What a lovely statement from the chief but he's so correct we all know it society the way that people drive their cars the way they treat you at the store they push you out of the way they're trying to get through you driving peacefully down the road and they get on top of you and swerve right in front of you. I'm 5 minutes in, the officials spending a great deal of time thanking each other and telling us how awesome they are, but in that whole 5 minutes all they've told us is that they took an injured baby out to firefighters, and the man lit the house on fire and shot himself. But zero info on the woman who was supposed to be held hostage in there too. I would rather just hear the story than have to listen to the local political nonsense. Only people who live there care about that and they definitely don't want to hear about it during a press release about this terrible incident. Enough of "I want to thank....", "we are a close unit..", bla bla bla. Not the time or the place! Tell us what happened? Telling us that "we saved that baby even though we didn't even know his name". Good to know!
The mum managed to get out and get help, hence the police etc turning up. And I agree with you on the statement about them saving the baby "even though they didn't know his name .. What a stupid comment he made, like if knowing a babies name would really make any difference! 🤦♀️

We all know why these situations are increasing. We have a large portion of the far right mentality emerging in our country as even woman's rights are being taken away from them.
Im so happy to see this poor woman and her infant are now safe and will be together during the much needed recovery that'll be needed for their future. She's done the right thing.
I was in a horrific domestic abusive relationship years ago. Sadly back then the law wasn't as helpful as it has become. Thankfully that help is changing. This law and fire enforcement should be proud of themselves.
Anyone who is in a unhealthy situation needs to understand that, theres help and you need to get it. Because this could easily be you!

I get so tired of all of the branches of government having to “orate” their role in rescues.😮 I appreciate the role they all play but want one or two to tell us what happened. Then in later days we can praise all the different facets of government involved! So glad this baby is okay and can heal and forget this day!❤

Seems like they had a good home and nice cars….as I always say, money doesn’t buy happiness.
People always wish and pray for money and good finances. My husband and I work our butts off day in and day out! We always say how much better off we would be if we had a nice home and nicer things! But I have to say I need to be more grateful for our run down three bedroom two bath mobile home, because even tho the floors are caving in in some areas and the shower doesn’t work in our children bathroom so they have to use our….we are a happy loving beautiful healthy family of five and I thank God for each and every thing I have in my life! I have an amazing hard working LOVING man by my side that comes home to me every evening and doesn’t cheat in me r Kay a hand in me! Three beautiful loving teenage kids! 15, 17, and 19! Who are my absolute world! I’m truly blessed and yes I’d love to be able to provide us with a home that isn’t faking apart in places! But we have a roof over our heads and I’m grateful for that.
God bless this family and may they find all the strength they need to get through this awful tragedy…God place your love around them!
