    thanks for the vid and for sharing your config!! I didn't know you could map jetbrains actions like split window that's a life saver

    do i need to do anything special for the bindings to work? they dont seem to apply

      I dont think so! just make sure you have ideavim plugin installed and reload your configuration when you make changes

      ​@@livb4139just restart your ide or open .ideavimrc using your ide and make changes then you should see that the ideavim icon at the top right of the editor will tell you to click to reload similar to maven or Gradle. Or you can use the shortcut which is Ctrl + Shift + o

    almost all of their products are not free... pointless to care about any of their plugins unless of course your employer pays for the license

      Maybe hard to justify paying for an IDE when the likes of VSCode and Neovim are free. But the point of this video is for people that do use JetBrains and Vim.
      I pay for my own license and think JetBrains IDEs bring me enough joy to justify. I have used Neovim for everything too but I find I just want to write code that I can run without too much config as I do write across a lot of languages.
      Maybe VSCode is better these days but a few years ago I found the editor would lag a lot which made me switch away and pay for an IDE.

      Jetbrains produces the best IDEs. Especially when it comes to Java

      @@zekiz774 It's not about the quality. It's about accessibility. Don't get me wrong. I loved using IntelliJ myself when the cost didn't come out of my own pocket.
