Man, this song and "Hip Hop Hooray" were hip-hop anthems in the 90s. Absolute party classics!
For sure 💯🔥
The hook has been stuck in my head for the last 20 minutes, just from reading the words " Hip Hop Hooray"
"Feel me flow" and "Craziest" were also nice
💯💯💯
Hip hip hooray lmao 😂
Queen Latifah was their manager they were under her label. Naughty by nature has lot of songs- feel me flow, jamboree, uptown anthem
Oh wow I didn't know that, very cool!! I have no idea how I never noticed her in the video!
Word so check out Queen Latifahs "Latifahs had it up to here". One of her best joints.
Jesus. What didn't that lady do? I think many of us are ignorant of just what a massive force Latifah really is, culturally.
Huge banger it was back in 1991-92. Can't believe its 30 yrs old!
30 yrs really hits home especially if you're over 60 and had this on cassette tape.
I’m 40 and had the tape!!! Just hearing this album is 30yrs old hurts my stomach a lil bit🤣🤣🤣
tell me about it, I graduated high school in '91
i’m 46 so i feel ya…hate saying I danced to this 30 years ago…somebody get me a walker🤣
Every kid was singing this back in the day, even though the song explains what it is, no one knew what O.P.P. actually meant.
Someone told me back in the 90's that it meant other persons property ie...girl friend
Ontario Provincial Police, of course! ;)
i always though it was other people's pussy. the last word is 5 letters and another way to call a cat a kitten.
I really hope these reaction videos of oldschool hip-hop influences the industry somehow. we need more of this music
I knew what it was. Pretty sure all of my girls did too.
Yeah, this was a huge hit back then, the good old days of hip-hop when you could actually dance to the music. And girls be singing "YEAH YOU KNOW ME!".😁
This is the damn jam! They said O.P.P. Was ( other people’s property) but we know better than that 😜
This song was all about cheating and keeping your mouth shut about it. It was a huge hit on the radio and in the club.
Yeah and that sucks!
Thats something that doesn't happen these days...I mean keeping their mouth shut about it.
This jam was huuuuuge we all lost our minds back in the day.
Treach is a 🐐
One of Eminem's biggest influences.
"Feel me flow" is a catchy summer vibe bro.
Treach was married to Pepa of Salt & Pepa & appears in the group’s video “Whatta Man!” with En Vogue
This was a MONSTER song! 90's hip hop and 90's music in general just hit different. My favorite decade for music, by far...
Naughty By Nature-uptown anthem
"Not unless he's down with O.P.P."
"YEAH YOU KNOW ME!"
Gotta love Geoffrey 😂👌🏼
Classic
Geoffrey was the man 😆
If you’re doing naughty by nature you must absolutely do “everything is gonna be alright“… Definitive track now live in the projects. Unequalled anywhere
OMG this song...i had 2 roommates from queens who had a 15 minute looping mix of this song & they played it every morning when they woke up. i went nuts & moved out
🤣
LOLOL
thats funny cause I used to hang with some east coast cats at Tennessee State University and they would bang the fuc outta east coast rap,,,which I very much loved but man all day and all night. LOL
@@newclothes8165 Fellow late '90s TSU alum. GO TIGERS!!!!
@@DOUBLECW Word up. Class of 95. see ya at homecoming fall 2021. We Ready. GO BIG BLUE.
Here in Ontario Canada we have O.P.P. Ontario Provincial Police. LOL.
My hometown is Opp Alabama, this used to be the jam when it came out!
Ha!!! That's cool!!
Hey neighbor 🙋 Greetings from Huntsville Alabama ❤️ RMFT🐘🏈
Kool
When hiphop still gave us reasons to cheer. Hip Hop Hooray
Exactly. Good stuff then!!
@Live and let die ok.
This, Young MC "Bust a Move" and Rob Base w/DJ EZ Rock "It Takes Two" were the jams.
Yes!!!!
Great reaction! Hip Hop Horray is another good one
Tribe called Quest "The Scenario"
Soul 2 Soul "Back 2 life"
Snap "Rythym is a dancer"
Usher "Yeah"
112 feat Notorious BIG "Only You"
Method Man & Mary Blige "Your all I need" Puff Daddy Remix
Back in the day, when this song came on we ALL got on the dance floor. There was no one sitting down during this song. They played this every Saturday night in the 90's.
so funny to hear this song after so many years... still good. was waiting for you to realize what the last "P" meant. when people realized it, they secretly laughed about it, while singing out loud.
Animotion 'Obcession' or The Cars 'Heartbeat City'.
Queen Latifah discovered them. I was living in Brooklyn when the song dropped and I heard blasting in peoples' cars all summer.
I was in highschool when this came out. Everyone loved it.
We use to walk around singing this song in the 7th grade and had no clue what it was about 🤦🏻♀️ we just knew it was cool and sounded good 😂
Caught the Jackson 5 sample right away. Well done, mate.
Yes sir this was a huge catch phrase back in 1991. Feels like not so long ago but time says its been 30 years 😱
Treach’s flow is smooth!
The bass in my car from this was sick
Jayvee, do "De La Soul - Saturdays". I do LOVE this Hip-hop oldskool Classic!!! 😍👊🎧❤️
YES Naughty by Nature had so many hits they were so much fun!!!
In the early 90's it seemed like every other week there was a new hip hop anthem coming out... Give "
C'mon N' Ride It (The Train)" a listen... it was a staple hip hop staple back in the day.. it could get a party jammin'
I loved dancing to that one back in the day!
I forgot about that one!
My man, this tune was huge back then. It was crazy.
"Feel me flow " is worth a listen. lyrical excellence
In Toronto this had a different meaning altogether, O.P.P = Ontario Provincial Police!
Always in the back of my mind, even though I was born just a couple years too late.
Omg. My youth
LOL I thought it was Other People's Property until this day! I never caught those lyrics before. I was too innocent hahahaha.
Yep... this song had middle school kids around the nation excited and singing about OPP. Good job, NBN!
I know I just left a comment on the Smashing Pumpkins video but this song only came out 4 years before 1979 and yeah 90's rock and hip hop was incredible. The golden MTV days.
I never wanted to be that person that said “back in the days” but I am PRECISELY that person. I loved everything you mentioned and it makes me miss those days.
@@CreativeCreatorCreates I never thought that I would be "in the 90's" guy but I love it so much and music and media today is just so bad now. You're good, just enjoy the nostalgia. Its mainly what I use youtube for, 90's memories.
@@awwgez I agree! Im about enjoying what was still good :)
This rap song was huge back in the day!
Back in the early 90s when a hip hop song like OPP got played we all danced with joy.
As far as flow, speed and clarity I think he's one of the best ever. One of My favorites was ghetto bastard. I was down with OPP then I got married. And all that shit came to a screeching stop.
This was definitely a banger in the day everybody was playing this.Fyi queen latifa signed them to her record label"Flavor Unit". Another fact Trech and Pepa from salt n peppa was married and have a daughter.
Dude their dopest and most lyrical song was "Everything gonna be alright" one of the hardest flows to mimic ever.
Even the great EMINEM admit he tried to mimic Treach flow.
I love that song. It's not often you hear a legit song about depression and suicidal ideation from a rap or hip-hop artist, that isn't hidden behind bragging about how you are such a thug you don't care if you die.
This song was blasting at every YMCA dance I went to in 1991 lol. And when I say the club was jumping, it was JUMPING!
I was 15 when this came out. Loved in rural Nebraska, yet it was on the radio quite a bit. Yeah, we sang along the same as we did for Smells Like Teen Spirit. ‘91 was a great year for music!
NJ guy here. Treach, Vinnie and KGee the DJ are Newark NJs Legends. "Hip Hop Horray " is their other classic. Their homegirl Queen Latifiah came up together.
You're on point Rap and Hips hop should come back like this
Hip Hop Hooray!!!! made me bought their album!
He was down with OPP but Pepa married him anyway.😁
First thanks for your reaction, and this song was huge back in the day!!! Music from the 90’s, all bangers, the rappers both male and female had sick flow and bars for days.
One of the rare groups that could regularly make a pop hit with legit rhyming to satsisfy backpacker purists.
Opp was a hit everywhere. Clubs, streets and at home lol. Radios stations bumped it, cars bumped it on the street. Classic
Doug e fresh let me clear my throat...there's a live version( uproxx) that's heavy where the crowds bustin same era as this kinda you'll know the riff instantly.
This song takes me back to my twenties and still gets me up and dancing every time, not to mention singing along word for word.
I'm staring down 50 in a few years and came up with a lot of this music in my high school years, and I didn't really appreciate it then. I dig it now.
In retrospect, I think a lot of this music is undervalued, but the reality is, it had to be REALLY GOOD then because it was coming out of a system of oppression and it broke down colour lines and attracted a white audience. It was huge on way more than just a musical level -- it was an awakening of sorts to Black culture and urban life.
I think it's really cool when you young dudes are getting to see where this whole "urban Black" culture sprang from, because I think a lot of credit needs to go to them for breaking down walls.
When I hear this stuff, I think of so much more than just music.
Try Heavy D and the boys now that we found love jay you will like it.
MASSIVE hit! I was 10 when this came out and we knew every.single.word! It's on my workout mix to this day.. cause I'm still down with OPP!!!
When they came out, they were on top. Treach is one of the more under rated mc's. Hip Hop Hooray is a classic. They came into their own and was killing the game at this time.
Damn Skippy I’m down with it👍
"OPP" and "Hip Hop Hooray" were their two big anthems, but the song that always hits me hardest is "Everything's Gonna Be Alright."
Treach borrows the refrain from Bob Marley, turns it inside out, and lays his pain and anger on the table. It's an astonishing song. Perfectly crafted, catchy as hell, but raw in its emotion all at the same time.
This song was HUGE!
"arm me with harmony" i remember when this came out.. such an amazing song.
They were the jam back in the day, still groove when I hear them💃🏼💃🏼
it was ALL over the place little kids were down with opp and they had no idea...!!!!! LOL
This was the jam back in the day! Everyone screaming “You Down With OPP?” Queen Latifa was a friend of theirs which is why she’s in the video! Treach is a tight rapper and the lyrics were clever! This song is a hip hop classic!❤️❤️
This is still an amazing song! It also goes to show how timeless the Jackson 5 songs are. Their beat is always goot to dance to. Great hiphop from those days!
Loved this jam as a teen! That piano. Actually pulled Opp up today and bumped it in my car. Thanks and great reaction bro!
Mc Lyte - Ruffneck Jungle Brothers - I'll house you
Beyond popular. Every high school
Dance & party. Every high school basketball & football game. The chants & dances to go with it.
This was a huge JAM!
Yeaaaaah!!! This is the REAL HIP-HOP!!! U KNOW WHAT I MEAN???? 👊
Man I live in southern Brazil and this song STILL blows up the dancefloor...
But at the time it was a HUGE success.
Worldwide
You said exactly how I've felt for years, this is the hip hop I love, it's what it should be, and I just miss it.
Alright now, you've hit my neighborhood. These guys are from my hometown and they were hott. Queen Latifah is also from our parts and helped them get started. I look forward to more reactions featuring this group. Thank you for this.
Man this was a banger back in the day, you heard it everywhere... Brings back much memories
Man...The club used to blow up when this one came on! Everybody hit the dance floor for sure!
This song was bangin back in the days. All my guys and gals were down with O.P.P. Brings back memories 👍🏾
💜💜 NAUGHTY BY NATURE & O.P.P. , THIS JAM WAS 🔥🔥🔥 BACK IN THE DAY 💃 ,✌️ OUT FROM CALI 💜 , 💜 YOUR REACTION 😁
Pop '90s Anthem:
*Jennifer Paige "Crush"
WAP before WAP.
Yep you’re right Jay. Everyone was singing this at the time!
Great memories! 😀
Hip hop in the 90s was such a vibe and so smooth. Love this one from Naughty by Nature, hip hop hooray & feel me flow were great from them too.
Brings back memories. High school dances. The clubs. Rolling down the street 12in subs blasting. 90s hip hop was in another level. Never to be repeated. So many high level bangers of different styles of originality. Folks trying to outdo each other with bars & beats.
oh yes the dance floor was full everyone took part. Was the best time ever
HUGE song. We were all singing it, even out there in the rural farm areas.
Queen Latifah and Naughty By Nature were both from New Jersey
Everyone knew this song great reaction Queen Latifah also making an appearance in video too 🔥👍
Queen Latifah- Freedom Yo Yo - You can't play with my Yo Yo
Please do Naughty by Nature "Everything's Gonna Be Alright". Its a classic about the hood
This song was so incredibly fun and popular. When this came on, everyone started dancing and singing. So much fun!!! Never gets old.
Haven't heard this song in a long time. Love it 😀 thanx Jay !!
When this song was out, everybody got down with opp! It was a better time...
This song was HUGE. I was not a fan of hip hop, it was all metal for me, but even I knew the chorus of this one. It was everywhere. And it was fun to revisit it today!
Oh man. Every single high school dance I went to, this was the song that got everybody grinding on the dance floor.
This is actually not my favorite song of theirs, but I still have to say, Treach is an underrated MC.
I just said that lol
Naughty by Naughty were in Latifah’s crew The Flavour Unit. Was this a popular club song? Hell yeah it was!
This song has staying power, my dude. About ten years ago in a gay bar, a wonderful butch lady (in suspenders and with a forties-style men's hairdo) performed this song pitch-perfect, every syllable flowing. It was amazing, she had the whole bar jumping.
Yes it was very popular at the clubs. Also the ladies from Living Single are in the video which Queen Latifah was included. The dance floor was packed when this song came on.
This song was 🔥🔥 Queen Latifah and Naughty By Nature was friends they all grew up in East Orange NJ and this song was one of their biggest hit.
this even was the shhh in the Netherlands. they also appear in the queen latifah song U.N.I.T.Y. , and 2pac appears in their song uptown anthem. He and treach (lead rapper of naughty) were very close, they even made a heartfelt song for 2pac after he died, named mourn you till i join you... naughty is one of my favourite hip hop groups! thanks for reacting to this and stay healthy, greetings from the netherlands
