Can confirm, during a class on extensions that was mentioned when talking on dying extensions. Aka: why I try to not work with polypropylene in hairstyling😖
Tbh if I was in the marketing team, I'd do a skulltimate secrets line with "throwback" outfits. For some of the more monstrous ghouls, they'd get like old fashioned horror style outfits, and some of the others would get like, retro fits (think 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s)
And specifically Frankie would have color change skin, when in cold water the doll would turn yellow (because the original Frankenstein's Monster was yellow!)
AND DRACULORA HAD LIKE A 1500s-1700s fahsion CUZ THATS WHEN DRACULA WASMADE A MYTH

While I hate that Gen3 is still using polypropylene hair, I will say at least the Frankie dolls that use this hair do look very beautiful. Clawdeen's hair also looks nice in this line. However, I hope we start seeing saran used on all the dolls moving forward
I heard Ghoulia is going to have a Skulltimate Secrets doll and the first thought I had was "MAKE HER FULL EMO"
I miss so much her emo fase, I would be so happy if this Ghoulia had the bangs covering one of her eyes, black and white stripes, lots and lots of bracelets and a recreation of her original high heel All Star's boots (Or maybe sneekers? Here in Brazil we used to call that type of shoes by "All Star", I don't know how is around the world kk). And also Toralei, she was SO PRETTY with the punk/emo aesthetic of the basic doll, but Mattel kept making her visual more and more soft. A full punk with spikes all over the place, riped clothes, patches and mohawk Toralei would be my dream coming true

If i could make a monster high skulltimate secrets line it would DEFINITELY be a "creep park" theme! Like they could have a merch outfit and a normal outfit and for food it would be like corn,burger,soda and other foods that u would buy at a themepark/creepark

Honestly, Lagoona was my least favorite out of this line because of the questionable fashion 🙃However, as far as face and hair she's in my top 2. Clawdeen was my favorite overall. I felt like this Clawdeen looks a little more mature compared to her other G3 dolls. I can't wait to see what they will do for Ghoulia! She needs another doll for sure.
I love how all of them turned out but Cleo has to be my personal fave.

I'm watching the Cleo work closely as I'm getting ready to do Sweet 1600 Frankie's hair after trying to "smooth it down" with mousse, hairspray, argan oil, saran wrap and scotch tape. 😳 And I love how tinsel looks, I just have a practical perspective going into this project that it's not realistic for doll hair. 😞

If i were designing a skulltimate secrets line it would def be themed on the great scarier reef. It could even include more than just five dolls and all the dolls would have a tail (tentacles,fins etc) and come in cool ocean outfits. Each ghoul for sure would have a flower to reference the garden in the Great Scarrier Reef.

I personally hate saran hair. It feels waxy(which triggers my sensory issues lmao) and isn't very pretty. Even in this video, frankie's hair is so shiny and beautiful, but Draculaura's looked gross. Maybe its better for Barbie because its meant to look like human hair, but the colorful monster high hair doesn't deserve that gross look and feel.
I think they should start using straight up Nylon like rainbow high, because their hair is always gorgeous and so nice to work with.
Their new hairstyle looks way better.
Hi, you're really great at fixing doll here so I was wondering if you could give me some advice? I have the Cleo de Nile doll I got for Christmas, the one with the polypropylene hair, and I want to give her a new hairstyle! I wanted to give her kind of wavy crimped hair so I did the regular wash and boil dunk, then I spent about an hour braiding her hair in tiny braids!
I was wondering if you had any tips? Like how long should I keep the hair braided, should I do regular short boil dunks, or can I hit her hair with the hair dryer? How long should I hit it with the hair dryer if so? If Zombie x Corn doesn't see this which I am fairly certain they won't, can anybody in the comments help me?
just leave her hair braided and wet for a couple hours, not 24hs necessarily, and then she should be done :) i did the same with my core draculaura and she turned out amazing
I typically leave mine over night(or until they're completely dry) and take them out. I curled my signature clawdeen's hair and it stayed really well without a dunk into boiling water.

they charge 79 dollars for collector dolls and for play line they don't invest at all in the quality of the hair I live in Brazil buy dolls here and it's very expensive for one it can cost 100 to 900 reais I think having this quality of hair if they have the ability to use saran because they don't use it on all dolls and mattel produs saram itself
