    Hold the line caller while I pick myself up off the floor, because Baggott and Hirons are in the same video 🤣. I worked at the BBC years ago and all the makeup artists had a Dermablend palette. One day, I had a really bad, red stress patch on my face and the makeup artist in our studio made it disappear with Dermablend. I went straight to BBC stores and bought one for a tenner. It was the first time I appreciated how transformative and magical makeup can be. Emma x

    I love Caroline's wit and humor. I could listen to her for hours. When you both spoke about grief being etched on your faces I could so relate. Within a 6 month period I lost my mother-in-law (she was 105 ), my dearest uncle, cousin and 2 friends as well. I think my whole face just fell.

    As far as I could remember from my teenage years I would always double or triple cleanse. My thinking was and still is today the first cleanse was to remove the pollutants...the second and third to remove dirt from my pores and dead skin. And I would read that cleansing so many times would damage your skin. But I found it was the opposite for me.

      No no, the initial SPF problem was Korean (Purito) but it is not exclusive to Korean brands. There are many brands from Europe, Australia and USA 🇺🇸 that didn’t come up to scratch on the SPF scale.

    That blanket statement of calling all East Asian testing labs bad was not a good look dear. Interesting isn’t it we have so many failed SPFs in the west and yes many SPF’s that’s been in sold in Australia has failed too. Try not to tie this issue to a race or country next time? I understand Asian beauty is popular so they clearly get more heat but fails SPF test is a global issue.

    Totally enjoyed watching you lovely ladies. One question regarding essential oils. Caroline mentioned extract as being ok so how do you know if a product has essential oils? Eg: when an inci list reads rose oil, is that an essential oil? I’m so confused.

    • @05danmea
      @05danmea 2 роки тому +3

      Not all oils are essential oils. So ROSEHIP oil is a seed oil whereas ROSE oil is an essential oil which is a highly concentrated oil made from the fragrant parts of the plant which can be irritating. So it's always good to check whether it's from the seeds which are generally good or an essential oil which you should avoid. Extracts are obtained by steeping a plant in water for a period of time and hence are much more diluted and non-irritating compared to essential oils e.g. rose water.

    • @clotildevella968
      @clotildevella968 2 роки тому

      @@05danmea thx so much for clarifying it. I was after a nice facial oil for my mature 52 yr old skin, but some have so many variety of oils in them that I just don’t know if it’s essential. The joys of navigating through it all lol

    Great collab girls! I have a few Medik 8 things which I enjoy so will try the cleansing oil when my Japanese one runs out! I'm with you on the Dr Sam cleanser - my skin felt too dry but I love a lot of her other products. Couldn't get on with her mineral SPF untinted though - pilled every single time no matter what combo I tried but the original one works fine. Can you recommend a mineral SPF to use around my eyes? I currently use Elta MD tinted which is fine but very drying and doesn't work nicely with any moisturiser underneath - it pills. Also have to buy it from the USA which is pricey for me. Any non-perfumed mineral SPF with NO essential oils, scent etc that is good for eczema-prone skin and works with make up? Bet you don't answer?! x
