Oh cool so these must be really difficult and made from scratch if they're professional level
*first recipe uses store bought cake mix*
That’s really hard wow 😂
EXACTLY what I was about to comment
Exactly
TBH none of tasty's recipes are difficult, they're just inconvenient, requires some degree of technique and understanding of the ingredients or expensive. The 100 layer crepe cake is expensive. The bundt cake just takes a lot of time, the mirror glaze cake takes skill and the others are just a combination of the 3.
Yee
Ain’t nobody got the time for that second recipe.
There was a video on this made by tasty that was a challenge and was used for this video and the guy who made this started at 9pm and ended at 1am
And money
Not with that attitude!
Seriously, though, besides time & money, I'm too lazy to do _all_ that
Parazomnia it’s basically a pumpikaple pie cake
I barely had time to watch the second recipe. I thought it was some elaborate joke.
The first recipe: 1 pound of cream cheese?!
The second recipe: 12 cups of flour, and 14 cups of milk?!?!
And thats only HALF of the batter
UnBeLiEvAbLe
Second recipe; 24 EGGS
24 eggs
Not to mention, 24 eggs!
It's because the second one makes 100 so you can divide the ingridients by 100 to make 1
Me: "Oh, this should be easy to do."
Second recipe: "Repeat 99 more times."
😳
For real XD
Rebecca Rios I mean who buys 44 eggs just to make a crepe cake
Jimmy John that’s literally true
Jimmy John honestly like crepe cakes aren’t hard to do at all it just takes a lot of time and no one would buy that many eggs to make it they’d make a smaller one. I’ve made crepes before and it takes Maybe 10 minutes to use an entire bowl if you know tricks but it’s really not challenging. In fact most of these recipes are actually hella simple they just take time and look complex but they’re really simple. But I’m also in a culinary academy so it might just be me
psykobanana lol
i didn't know chefs used boxed chocolate cake mix
foughtnight sucks omg you gottteeeemmmm
i am so late but the ghirardelli triple fudge brownie box mix is the literal best
This comment reminds me of a reddit post i saw a while back. The lady used box cake mix but she worked at a bakery :)
giada de laurentiis uses it all of the time.
Some do actually but its only if they want to smake something easy so ehh
"Professional Chef Status"
"Uses cake mix"
Sure
But you have to add an egg, it can't be cheating.
Exactly, it’s not like making cake is even hard.
Haha
It says status, not actually being a professional chef.
@@May04bwu If you wanna gain a chef status you at least have to make a cake from scratch not use cake mix

Anyone realize that this comment was from 3 months ago?
I think we're confusing "challenging" with time consuming for some of these recipes.
@Krack Kowkain By time consuming he obviously means "taking a very long time"
I think they go pretty hand in hand.
this is satisfying and all but i'm too broke for that 100 layer crepe cake
I'm too lazy
I counted 128 eggs in that recipe
20 eggs yolks! What do I do with the whites?

Challenging Dessert Recipes That Will Gain You Professional Weight
"professional weight" 😂 I'M -
Lol
I CANT
Ever heard of moderation? Just don't eat the more than one serving.
😂 lol
Cake mix + cream cheese + oreos = Professional Chef Statu
Man, I wish...
If only
oh doesn't it feel so good when you can say your a professional chef after making 100 crepes and stacking them on top of each other
Imagine using 24 cups of flour lol I’m not made of mf money
what about the 128 eggs?
@Lily Blackwell it calls for 2*24 eggs + 4*20 eggs. makes 128 in total
@Micheal Rows shut up cause no one is ever going to make one for you if you act that
@Lily Blackwell 128
@Micheal Rows that's not even what I meant!
I'm not entirely convinced making a few desserts will elevate me to a professional status
Well at least you know you accomplished something more difficult. 🤗
Believe that it will because it will. People remember my cheesecake from thirty years ago.
Make them well, and it will! 'Quality' always trumps 'quantity!' : )
Especially using chocolate cake mix
Agreed. I went to a culinary highschool (proffesion + highschool in one), and we learned lot more complicated recipes than what they are showing here. This is just things you create at home when craving sweets or have a family celebration. In fine dining restaurant you will be fired for using things like boxed cake mix..
Firefighters: How did this happen?
Me: WATCHES VIDEO
Me: These are easy I’m gonna make them
Remember that one time when the top chefs put oreos in boxed cake mix
"Profesional Status"
*Uses box cake mix*
Mimi Unicorn Anybody can say the same to you, having a comeback to something that’s true has no effect. Tasty using cake mix for this is absolutely and lazily comical, so bad it’s honestly funny. The 5 minute crafts of food, really disappointing.
Just to make the process a bit faster
@@ChefSeblefr ok that's a bit far nothing can be compared to 5 minute crafts
Listen if u made that for someone they wouldn’t know u used cake mix it will just make it seem like u know ur stuff and ur great at this
Ok but why 100 layers. 15 seems fine to me
Then it would be called a 15 layer cake
This bakery in ny makes a similar cake with 20 layers of crepes after the 100 layer challenge went viral people started doing that crepe cake with 100 layers and it kinda went viral but ur write you only need 15-20 layers to make a decent crepe cake
100 layers because everybody loves diabetes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I would prefer 20-50 layers🙂

everybody’s saying how time wasting that second recipe was and how they would never do it but i don’t know what to say because i may have done it (WITH ONLY 30 LAYERS OK CHILL) 😬

For those who want to actually try difficult desserts to improve themselves, the only things worth trying are the mirror glaze cake and the éclair. Everything else is simple for intermediate chefs, just time consuming. Mirror glaze and éclairs are challenging on the first time and are actually used often by professional chefs.
(dont try the mirror glaze cake on this video though bc david seymour tried it and it ended up terrible)
@@jsal7666 Yeah, but Alix tried it (a few times) but it ended up great.
Aren't crepes hard to make because they're thin and might break when you try to flip it over?
You forget Macarons aswell, I love eating them but hate making them

No they won't... Culinary school will
Culinary school mostly just makes people stuck up assholes working at half assed restaurants
This whole channel proves that culinary school is bullshit.
I went to culinary school. After I became a certified trainer at a 4 star restaurant, I dropped out. I learned that the one thing culinary school teaches you, is that you dont need culinary school
only thing you actually learn abt at culinary school is hygiene :) and I doubt you even learn about that in America

Alvin: 😲
yup , he was there making the mirror glaze cake , which is in the last of the video
"professional status"
15 seconds in: premade cake mix
I’ve been studying cooking for years and never knew that box cake mix Bundt cake, 100 layered crêpe cake, and a giant “Twix” bar cake give you professional chef status. I’ll be sure to let Monsieur Dominique Ansel and Monsieur Pierre Hermé know of this right away! 🤣
1st: Insanely easy, probably tastes good, just a bunch of boxed shit though.
2nd: Normal crepes?? Just??? Far too many?? Of them???
3rd: Eclairs but smores themed. The hardest part about eclairs is making a good smooth custard, which this negates... It's pastry with marshmallows in it.
4th: belongs in a GiAnT biGgEst ePiC cAndy bAr video, not in this.
5th: Looks very pretty and is actually kinda time-consuming to make, but sorry to break it to you, mirror glaze tastes nasty. It's basically bone sauce (can you tell I hate gelatin?)
Most of these would taste fine and be cute at a party, but it's kinda dumb to consider this 'professional chef' level baking... Not to be an ass or anything.
V mK completely agree with you
Bro I make crepes all the time, and you never, ever, need a 100 crepe crepe cake, especially when using crepes that size, because it’s waaaaaay to much food.
Also 15 SHEETS OF GELATIN OS ABHORRENT
You can’t be a ass, donkeys can’t type!

I highly doubt anyone at Tasty is a professional chef. Maybe just Rie but they ain’t no Bon Appetit chef-level.

And cream cheese, don't forget the professional cream cheese.

But you seem quite professional so you’ll probably make it perfectly :)

Second-
Me: **Da fuq???** How do you go from using cake mix to tHaT??
Tasty: Recipes that will gain you professional chef status. First recipe involves box cake.
Me: 😐
That glazed cake looked too good to cut
3:59 That guy in the backround be like: D:
I feel like the entire second recipe was the producers saying "eh screw it we have extra stock" you could do like 1/20th of the recipe and it might be manageable
Oh no. Mixing a bunch of pre-mixed things into a single pan. This will be the death of me if I'm not a pro
HOW IN THE WORLD WILL I MAKE SIMPLE MOTIONS TO MIX THE CREAM CHEESE AND THE SUGAR, HOW, I'M NOT A PRO
It annoys me so much they don't mix the eggs before adding it to boat load of other ingredients.... You get the possibility of it not mixing well enough and making cooked egg parts in whatever you're making.
If don't want to do that, add ingredients gradually, not just dump it in all together and then try to mix it all....
Agreed
24 eggs ?
Oh wait another 24 eggs for the other half
Please don’t forget the 20 eggs for the frosting
That equals 68 eggs

Wow, who knew becoming a professional chef was so easy? Guess all those years you spend in culinary school are a ripoff, all you need to know is how to make five desserts. xD
So you give me a video on healthy food. Then desserts.
That's not fair.

Are ya tryna bankrupt me here?!
Respect for the person who makes the second recipe!
My mom and I tried the mirror glaze cake, but the glaze was bought from a cake store and it turned out to be way too thick and not enough to cover the sides of the cake. The top turned out pretty, but there was so much glaze on there that it tasted weird. The glaze itself wasn't nice, making the cake sort of hard to eat. Next time we might make the glaze ourselves!

if anyone’s wondering, the crepe cake isn’t actually supposed to be too serious. one of the people at tasty wanted to do a fun “challenge” video to create a massive hundred layer crepe cake. it took them several days, several attempts, and LOTS of dedication but it was a really fun video to watch! (most of behind tasty is rlly entertaining)
Just got my appetite back. So hungry now. These all look amazing! 😀
