You need to get on a show with skip bayless. Both of you are just alike. Anybody you dont like is just the worst thing ever. And anybody you do like can do no wrong and if they lose its always the teammates fault.
There has been a bunch of back ups as good as the starter. I can go all the way back to don strock, david woodly. Plunket and wilson. Capernick the one year. Foles with philly. And a bunch more in between. Darnold and mayfield. Flip a coin. Russell wilsons back up cant be any wors than him. Young was backup to montana. Rodgers was backup to favre and doug williams and thiesman . I mean the list is huge. You never bring up the point that rodgers,brady,allen,herbert,
hurts and burrow could all replace mahomes and the chiefs would still win just as many games and go to superbowl. Bring that up on one of the shows

This show is borderline women's daytime TV status. That said, I'd rank it 2nd in between Florio and Simms on NBC and Colin here on Fox. It sure is entertaining.

Honestly, Bucs fans better pray Leonard Fournette finds a way to run the ball against the Niners defense who are #1 against the run.

I don't think any of the teams Nick brought up compare to the niners situation personally. Shanahan will have Purdy ready to go.
The closest comparison would have to be the cowboys, since both teams are carried by their defenses. The funny thing is that the cowboys are probably the only team that Nick listed where he was wrong that they'd be written off if they lost their starting quarterback. We already know that the cowboys can win without Dak.

Brock being “ready to go” isn’t even relevant. He’s got no choice. Can the Niners win a SB with him? No. We KNOW they can’t win with Jimmy. But the point remains that if ANY OTHER QB for any good team got hurt and was replaced by literally THE LAST PLAYER IN THE DRAFT, we’d automatically say they have no shot at the title without that QB. That’s his point and it’s 1000% true.

However, I never said the cowboys are the same team without Dak. What I said is that we know the cowboys can still win games without him. Sure, they may not be beating the vikings 40-3, but it doesn't really matter in the end how much they beat their opponents by. The cowboys would definitely have worse odds in the playoffs without Dak, but they couldn't be written off entirely. In the same way, the 49ers aren't nearly as likely to go all the way without Jimmy, but they still have a chance with that defense and those weapons.

FINALLY someone is bringing up the point I've been saying for 2 years. They had a ton of injuries when Jimmy got hurt and they had bed records. At NO point did Jimmy go down and the rest of the team was healthy and they lost a bunch of games. This whole Jimmy G/quarterback wins record doesn't mean much when dang near all your important and good players get hurt as well.
I've been pointing out how ridiculous that "All he does is win" narrative is for years due to the very fact the team just happen to have had a litany of injuries, including with the backups themselves, during the period he was out.
Yup.... they are casual fans who don't watch the games.
Love this show, especially for the banter between you guys, but Nick has gotta stop yelling over everyone and let them talk more. He just gets so heated at times that he wont let people finish their points. I wonder if Purdy was even born by the 199th pick of the 2000 draft. Man, those almost 23 years have flown by. I still have my Y2K survival kit, with that stupid, but at the time essential, flashlight that you only had to shake 200 times to get 10 seconds of light.
The players love Jimmy G. The coaching staff that traded three first round picks certainly doesn’t lol. Just watch Shanahan’s face on the sidelines when Jimmy is out there missing the open guys that he drew up for him to hit.

Nick says he reads the comments sometimes so I hope he reads this one, I think there are some great points even though it went on longer than I planned. He likes making comparisons a lot, so here's a good one. He’s always trying to refute Brou when he makes the Jimmy G is a good QB argument because he and Mahomes are the only two QBs to start their career 35-15 or better with a certain passer rating. Nick could so easily win that argument by bringing up Ryan Tannehill. It wasn’t to begin his career, but it could basically make Nick’s “QB wins are BS argument” because to begin his tenure with the Titans, Tannehill was 35-15 on 66.5% passing for 230 Y/G and 7.9 Y/A, with 84 TDs to 29 INTs (RAT: 101.1), that’s to Garoppolo’s 35-15 on 67.4% passing for 247 Y/G and 8.4 Y/A, with 73 TDs and 39 INTs (RAT: 98.8). I’d even make the argument Tannehill’s more valuable because he has a better run game (Tannehill: 75 rushing first downs for Tennessee, with 19 TDs on 4.6 Y/C, and Garoppolo: 49 rushing first downs with 6 TDs on 1.6 Y/C). He could even further the “QB wins mean nothing” narrative by comparing their small playoff sample size (Tannehill: 2-3 record with 151 Y/G on 6.9 Y/A, with 7 TDs to 5 INTs & RAT: 85.2, while Garoppolo is 4-2 with far worse statistics: 137 Y/G on 5.8 Y/A, with 4 TDs to 6 INTs & RAT: 74.1) If Brou wants to be a Jimmy G guy, he literally has to be a Ryan Tannehill guy too.

Here's a stat line for everyone...13-22, 160 yards, 0.7TD, 1 INT. That's the average game for Jimmy in 6 playoff games. Can Purdy give that? Yes, absolutely. The defense is generational, giving up 15 points a game, just 5 more per game than the vaulted 2000 Ravens, who played in a much more physical era that wasn't geared towards the offense like today's game.
Those average stats for Jimmy G aren't great, but he doesn't turnover the ball. Can Purdy do the same in the playoffs? We will find out.

One of the main reasons the Niners scare people is bc they play ROUGH for every single snap for 4 quarters on both sides of the ball. They play 70s /80s/90s football and that's why they usually are in every game win or lose. Miami came in high flying scoring 30pts/game for weeks and look what happened. Tampa's defense was actually getting marched on the whole game but the Saints kicked FGs all game. Purdy will have 2 TDs no picks and about 250 yards. And the Win 💯
